@@PiperGranger-y5z Thank you for watching!! Hmm, it's definitely a challenge to make time for language learning when you have other priorities. I understand you very well.
During the time I was busy maintaining my grades in senior high school, I accepted the fact that I wouldn't make a lot of time for it since there was something else more important in that moment. I couldn't handle putting the same huge effort on both my school and personal hobbies. Nonetheless, I always kept my future goals for Japan close to me and that reminded me to put in at least a bit of effort each day. What I did instead was, I listened to Japanese youtube videos everyday for 30 minutes and noted down 3-5 new words/phrases. I integrated this habit while I commuted to school, doing chores, or whenever I have a bit of a break between lectures.
Use Japanese as a break from your studies instead of the usual urge to scroll on social media. If you're a beginner, you can use some of your free time at home to watch lessons or talk to natives online. Time will loose itself once you are extremely set on acquiring the language, and this happened to me regardless of how busy I was. Even ten minutes made a huge difference. Small progress each day will eventually compound into something great. Just keep on going!
Furthermore, if you can transition the daily thoughts in your head from your native language to Japanese, that would be helpful as well. Not only will this actively practice your Japanese, but you'll also stumble upon words you wouldn't know how to say. And the more you look up the words, the more you remember them. I hope this helps!
