an area in the Peak District known as Harboro' Rock, with its beautiful jagged outcrop of Dolomitic Limestone, towers remains of the Golconds lead mine dating back to the 1700's as well as an ancient cave where artifacts from the ice age have been found
Looks like a big furnace area where rock was melted and iron or tin or something extracted. Whatever the quarry in the background is doing probably relates to what’s in the ground naturally around where you are, too. Big solid brick-column foundations like that speak to heavy weight-bearing going on inside the building. This was probably originally near the quarrying and mineral deposit sites. And it grew naturally over the generations as the mines got bigger and finally tapped out. That’d explain evidence of more recent brickwork and possibly rails laid on the ground to move loads of ore. Just a thought.
Amazing! The second building was a substation. "E.F.H." on top of the installation will be Electric ... .... abbreveated. The three big round holes were inlets for high power cables. Those ended in now long gone very heavy duty copper switches. Those three switches were engaged and disengaged individually with each of the right sided levers, with something of insulation in between. From there, single wires where guided through each of those six holes, the white ceramic was for insulation. The text below "Danger" reads "Close this lid after removing sw...." where I presume "sw..." is "switch". The cables lead from there into the next room. In that next room may have been transformers. But I doubt high power transformers as those would not fit through the doorway. I estimate the installation to be of the 1910s, 1920s. The lethal danger of it all, but also the ability to switch down all operations explains the metal doors.
Im betting that first little red brick building was a power house of some kind. The larger room held the generator and the smaller room held the controllers. The white part is ceramic insulators for copper lines.
All seems very agricultural to me, similar to ruins we have everywhere here in new Zealand, that bent 'I' beam is impressive as their pretty tough to bend.
Hello Brother, Ohmyguad I’m so glad You didn’t fall in anywhere!!! That is a massive old structure, From get go! Many layers down. The top cave might have been the top, the hook did hold a rock door that hid glide open at one point. Wow!!! Is all that I think to put into words that My mind is seeing… Big Thanks and Thumbs 👍 up… You are Very intuitive 😊
At first i thought it was wartime works, but there is to much there, so does look more like mine head of some sort and carried down the hill with machinery ?!?! 🤔
That was interesting! I’ve no idea what it was used for but the four tall structures looked like chimneys. The cave was pretty cool and the derelict farmhouse looked quite old. Thank you ❤😊
Get some hybrid hikers. Vans mtn have a great line, I have 4 pairs and they last long are water resistant and waterproof depending on what grade or version you want to go with
Do you think it was used as a business or a home with storage? Than the small building was a business but what kind of business all tthe way out there? This is amazing! That structure wwith the metal rods does look like it was built by Egyptians. That whole area was something industrial just wonder what was made? When i see this kind of stuff i want to tell those people who say aliens had to build things because humans werent capable, i want to say LOOK! Humans are definitely capable of amazing things. Thanks for this. Stay healthy, happy and safe always. 😊
Love your videos. Looks indeed like a farm house. Looks like somebody did not give up yet at this building, but even that person might be dead already...no family members remain?
The brick building with the metal doors would have been a substation and the machines are in fact switches, the BTH logo stands for British Thompson Houston the other side of that building would have housed a transformer and the RSJ would have had a block and tackle running along it to lift the transformer into place. Id suggest that the concrete pillars were the base of an ariel ropeway that bought ore down from the top of the hill above the pillars on one side and tipped it out at the bottom returning the empty buckets up to the top above the pillars on the other side, a similar arrange was common in mining areas where an ariel ropeway was used to carry the spoil to the top of surrounding hills and dump it.
Great video, you left nowt out lad, well done. Most just don't bother doing the extra. Was there mining, quarrying or some power generation for machinery? WW1 or WW2? late 1800's...pre reset? Old World?
Looks like a foundry!? Those towers look a lot like the remains of the old Iron works at, Merrimac springs in St. James Mo., just more of them, but smaller! I'm not sure, but it is in your geographical locale and easier to research yourself than asking viewers!

could you not have done a bit of research and found out what it was ?
Most likely ore refinement for a mine or rock processing for a quarry.
You'd think you would learn to wear appropriate shoe gear by now. :P
Haha
Old ore mill is my guess. Was there tin nearby?
The multiple levels are often different stages of refining ore.

P.S. the red brick is very old
Thanks. Looks like Clee Hill x
I enjoyed watching this, thank you for sharing, subscribed. ✌️Peace.
Another fun video. Thanks!

It looks like an old meat locker to cool down meat before you process it
Maybe for drying grain .
That wee brick building in the beginning is either for wool or meat processing.
No idea what that was but nothing beats exploring the old world, if only to forget all the modernity that has polluted my spirit.
Completely unprepared .. from head to toe ... 🤔😏
The hole in the ground possibly was a settling pond and the rest of it looks like belonging to some mining operation too.

If that’s a Neolithic cave ask will lord about it he might know what the structure was there too he does flint knapping and Neolithic skills

Karimore make great waterproof boots with

Or you can buy nail proof
Steeltoes at most builders
merchants
You went the hard way to get to this! Easier from the high peak trail!
Is Annabelle with you?
Was just me today

Where.....so we can research.
Great finds! Like your style
I'm left wanting more background on your finds!
More research would make
Your channel a must see
Sorry to be critical!

You should have gone to the top. There's a Stone chair and a trig point.
Old radio tower !
Was ist das ? Vieleicht eine Bedienung aus der alten welt , vor 1800?
Looks like a foundry!?

Where is it looks amazing me and my step daughter love exploring ruins and abandoned buildings

What is that machinery sound?
