Personally, I think it's mutually assured destruction. Vader's suit is vulnerable to magnetic manipulation. But Magneto can't magnetically shield himself from the force snapping his neck.

For instance, Magneto would have easily stopped Lia’s ship from escaping in the prelude to A New Hope while Vader stood frustrated as it left. Magneto would simply have ripped it apart or crushed its engines. His control, effortless use and power vastly exceed that of Vaders over the force. The feats are there for anyone to see

Kinda hard to do that when you're head is goo. Everyone seems to forget Vader WILL see the attack in the force about the same time Magneto even gets the idea and the guy can *also* crush a Star Destroyer with his mind.
Magneto's helmet only protects him from mental attacks. It won't do jack against TK.
Finally there's Magneto, himself. His own greatest weakness. He likes to sh!t talk too much and he doesn't start with his most effective moves unless he gets upset and seems to get off on torturing his opponents.
None of that is going to help him against a Sith Lord who tortures himself daily for his own failures and kills people the way normies throw away trash.
None of the types of things he usually does will help him. They just piss Vader off, because Magneto doesn't understand what he would be up against.
Destroy his limbs and life support? He will shred your heart while he's doing his "mat" impersonation, rebuild those components with the force and forget you ever existed. He's done it a few times. Try to pull the iron from his body and he'll drop a building on you.
Magnetism IS everywhere, but it's relatively weak compared to the force

Magnetism is just as pervasive and essential as the forced it's literally what holds everything together, and magneto isn't just limited to the metals that we're accustomed to mentioning with megnetism, he the master ALL forms of magnetism. Mean as long as it existist he has the potential to control it, even light can't escape. It's just they've never truly pushed him to the limits of his potential, and it makes sense because at that point almost no one can be his rival excepting beings like the molecule man, Frank Richards, the marquis and phoenix; basically persons who can go blow for blow with raw power or cheat by distorting reality.
The only thing I'd give is that precognition with the force, Vader pulls a Yhwach and says, " this is too dangerous, lets end it before it starts" but without that vader is also going in blind, he's never seen or heard of magneto.
@@shemuellegall4486 it's not just the precognition. Even without telepathy and discounting he precognitave abilities, Vader is going to feel Magneto's intent in the force just from his generally malicious presence.
He may be the master of magnetism, but he's never really mastered himself in a way that'll help him against someone who can use a truly omnipresent force force against him. He can manipulate body chemistry. Vader can biologically *turn him off*

This fight requires alot of assumptions, like "do mitichlorines exist in the 616 universe?" and "is Vader's suit/cybernetics made of a ferrous metal?"
So, lets go with the occam's razor approach and say both have full effectiveness of their powers against the other, defaulting to "yes" when it comes to a question on whether or not a power will work on the other.
Since both of them can destroy the other with little to no effort with their mind alone, the fight immediately becomes a battle of perception, reaction, or a beyond visual range engagement.This is where Vader wins.
Vadar has force senses, bordering on precondition. That's how jedi deflect blaster bolts. He can sense the presence of Magnito and force choke him across the galaxy. He doesn't even need to get close to Magnito.
Magnito has no such extrasensory perception. While he may have some ability to affect beyond visual range targets with his power, he has nowhere near the ability of even a padawan in perception.
Now if Professor X were to help Magnito, that's a different story.

Vader wins easily. The assumption that Vader would be motionless or fully under the control of Magneto is incorrect. Vader, upon having his suit turned off, used the Force to manipulate the suit and retake control. Also he could use the Force to prevent his suit collapsing in on himself. Lastly, the more pain Vader endures, the stronger he becomes. Magneto loses every time

I don't think you saw the whole video or you weren't paying attention. At 8:38-8:55 he mentions moving metal in one person's bloodstream as well as mentions Magneto taking adamantium out of Wolverine's body
vader uses the force, the force is literally magnetic fields. its a wash on that and vader is more powerful without using the force/magnetic fields. vader wins this one im sorry.

Anakin was never past Yoda or Sidious. Sidious himself said, "Lord Vader will become more powerful than either of us." He wasn't as strong as those 2. He just had the potential to become more powerful
Also i should point out. Material Composition: Darth Vader's armor and cybernetic enhancements are made of advanced materials that likely aren't ferromagnetic. In the Star Wars universe, technology often includes materials with properties not found in our real world, meaning a mags abilities likely wouldn’t have any effect.

But both that and vader's human remains still operate under so me type of energy, presumably on the electromagnetic spectrum, unless all that circuitry is just for show.. Light (as in lightsabre) is on the spectrum. The Phoenix Force, described very similarly to the Star Wars Force, is on the spectrum. The one advantadge Vader might have is precognition - which is why he might leave Magneto the hell alone. In this fight, there is no balance.

What we don't know is the full extent of the effects of magnetic fields which could and probably do give Magneto more power than we understand currently.
We also know that within the context of what we know of the Force is that it resides in everything.
Taking these facts into account would probably put both Magneto and Darth Vader on an even level of power application.
Even if Darth Vader was less powerful than Magneto, his precognition would give him the ability to affect Magneto with total destruction before he had a chance to begin using his all powerful magnetic based attack upon Darth Vader.
I will admit that I don't know fully the extent of the power of either one, I can only follow what is the logical outcome of there abilities and that is that Darth Vader would decimate Magneto.

Jsut saying, Kenobi's death was because if Luke stayed he risked being caught. By dying he removed the need for Luke to stay. Obi-wan's ENTIRE existence after 3 was keeping the skywalker twins safe. It is entirely possible he could have won again, but that would have won a battle to lose the war.
By ANH Kenobi wasn't able to defeat Vader. The only reason Vader lost to Obi-Wan in the past was because of Vader's own conflicting emotions surrounding Obi-Wan. Vader was always exponentially more powerful than Kenobi, he simply unwittingly nerfed himself every time they fought. Except for ANH, Vader wasn't conflicted in this instance, and Kenobi honestly didn't stand a chance. Whether or not he chose to die is redundant. He literally couldn't win.
Magneto. Magneto does what he wants on his own asteroid, Vader has to kneel before the emperor. Magneto turns vader into a pokemon keychain or a Pac-Man arcade.

@LuckyDogGaming i have read most of the actual Extended Universe which is why I know Luke or Palpatine would have been a better match against Magneto. Still say Magneto would win but they would be a better fight.

My first thought was "Magneto crumples Vaders helmet like a beer can." Can't use the force with no head. This fight is over in less than a second. Magneto senses metal. Vader is MADE OF metal. He'd have less chance than Wolverine did.

Honestly it comes down to who is seeking out who first. If Vador is seeking out Magneto, then he wouldn't need to see him, Magneto wouldn't know and snap goes Magneto's neck. If Magneto is seeking out Vador, then Vador wouldn't know Magneto is hunting him and so..... Magneto shows up, says hi, and then crushes Vador before he even knew what was happening. But remember, If Darth Vador knew Magneto was coming, he wouldn't let him even get close before destroying him. But if Magneto show up on Darth Vador's doorstep with flowers, Darth is done for. So for a battle in the ring, Magneto would win no question. Darth can't use The Force if the iron in in blood is pulling out of his body as his armor is crushing him at the same time while being levitated to a lava pit
Wait In the movie Magneto only pulled the iron from the security guards blood after he was injected with extra iron by Mystique.
In the comics, Magneto pulled all the adamantium from Wolverine's body.

My understanding is that the guards for Magneto were on a special diet to lower the amount of iron in their blood, so he couldn't mess with them. Mystiques intervention simply restored their iron to the level of average humans, making them Magneto's toys.
Just maybe something you guys didn’t know or think about. like the fact that there is a dark side ability called force sphere that could possibly block magnetos attacks or that the metals in Anakin Lightsaber, or his suit are even magnetic material at all. It wouldn’t make sense for them for the Jedi to make suits and light sabers from magnetic material because then any magnet could pick up their lightsaber or any electronic thing they’re wearing, especially in the case of going to battle when you don’t know what could happen. And yes, magneto could try to target Anakin’s actual body, but he could use the ability such as force sphere like I said or force drain and drain magnetos Lifeforce or even take away his ability

Since the majority of Darth Vader's body is mechanical and therefore metallic, Magneto would turn him into scrap metal without much effort.
Basically the only way Vader would win is if he managed to get off the first attack and it was fatal. Which itself would be an insanely difficult feat to pull off on Magneto.
Realistically Magneto and Vader would empathise over each others' childhoods and team up to rule the galaxy.

Not likely. Vader would be viewed as a tyrannical dictator to Magneto’s world view. Remember this is a guy who absolutely detests fascism and dictatorships due to his experiences as a Jewish mutant living under the Nazi regime. He probably wouldn’t spend a second on Vader given how similar the Empire is to Nazi fascism.

@@jonc2914"Robot" does not mean "made of metal". A remote control car is technically a robot and the whole thing is mostly plastic.
I think his armor is something more than plasteel. He takes a lightsaber strike to the shoulder at Bespin City and, despite feeling it, he shrugs it off with no visible damage.

Magneto squashed Vader, emptied him of all metals, turned him into a pin and then killed him.
Question. Could Vader use the force to keep his metal together tightly and overpower Magnetos power to pull it apart and manipulate it? I feel like Vader could basically use the force to render magnetos control over his mechanical body and suit useless. Not to mention that Vader has been able to force choke/crush people from a vast distance away. If Vader gets the drop Magneto is done. But likewise with Magneto getting the drop, Vader is done. Both are strategic masterminds. It really is based off who attacks first. They both could destroy the other with a quick attack. I just think Vader has more abilities to catch Magneto first. It could go either way imo. They both are just as powerful when it comes to manipulating things. But Vader has more abilities than Magneto. It’s just basically who can move first.

Theoretically yes he could. That's not the issue. The issue is how their powers scale. Simply put Magneto's feats are a longer list and higher levels. This comes from the original medium. Comics generally out-scale movies in power levels. It also comes from the amount of material for the characters. Magneto just has had more written for him.
It's like Stan Lee said. Whoever the writer wants to win is the one who will win.
Darth Vader struggles to move boulders with the force, Magneto moves the Golden Gate Bridge with ease. The answer is no. There is a massive disparity in power level here. It's like asking if Darth Vader could block a blast from the Death Star with his lightsaber.

I’ve read also in the 90’s that magneto is arguably the most powerful mutant on earth. The problem is that we hardly ever see that power and he usually die or defeated by characters that far below him in power. Writers never write him as a powerhouse villain like Thanos, Doom or Apocalypse

And also Erik is a mutant not a normal human. A force choke isn't taking him down instantly

Yeah, sorry I don't buy into that one. Sure, he choked an officer in Empire Strikes back from another system but he was also in visual contact with the man through the view screen and most likely knew where the ship was and was able to focus his efforts. There has to be a limit to that power otherwise Vader would just be able to hang out in a lounge chair somewhere and imagine Mon Mothma and choke her out. Then the same with Admiral Ackbar and just work his way through the entire rebellion.
