What did you end up doing for food/water and how did you plan (if at all) this trip?? Very much looking to do something similar myself and I'd love some inspiration
So good to hear your looking into something similar, what we did was find all the places we wanted to see around New Zealand South Island so we knew all the highlights but didn’t give ourselves any day by day itinerary, we kinda loosely pulled ourselves through to various locations we were interested in. For food we actually grabbed about 10 days worth of food and carried it on us the entire time (initially we were doing a 8 day hike with no option to resupply) but I can say next time I’d take way less as it was so heavy HAHAHHA. I think spontaneity was the goal of the trip. I wish you the best :)
