This was a great video. Somebody put a poinsettia in the bathroom here and it made me curious how to care for it. Go figure you're business isnin Cranbury N.J., I Grew up in South Brunswick and still live around there lol. I like how these have tonbe watered just like my sansevieria but like light just like my dozens and dozens of aloe plants. Thank you for making this video, I'm looking forward to seeing more.
My hubby bought me six poinsettia and they are beautiful!!🥰🥰🥰now my question is what type of water can I put on mines!🤔because we have a water softener and a filter purifier tank in my whole house and a friend of us told us that we can't water our garden on plants with that type of water🤔can u help us with that I would really appreciate it!!😊hiiii from Iowa!!😊
Oh interesting question. I found some info for you on the internet . Hope you find it helpful . ➡️ Best Water for Houseplants Wondering if tap water is OK for your plants? The short answer is, it depends. Most tap water should be fine for your houseplants unless it is softened because it has salts that can build up in the soil over time and eventually cause problems. Chlorinated water is also safe for most houseplants, but if you have a filtration system, that's even better for your plants. Another option is collecting rainwater to use. No matter what type of water you choose, room-temperature liquid is better than either warm or cold. Either extreme can damage your houseplants' leaves, so it's best to refill your watering can right away after each session and let it sit until next time. That way, it has plenty of time to even out to the right temperature. Source ➡️ www.bhg.com/gardening/houseplants/care/watering-houseplants/

Hello Kelly, I need help with my poinsettias. I have had these plants for a year, I repotted them in much larger pots. They were doing well until about 3 weeks ago and then all of a sudden one by one the leaves just started falling off. I thought I was overwatering them but that will never happen, or they weren't getting enough water. They are in a sunny spot in my living room and I speak to them daily. What's wrong with my children? I don't want then to die on me. Please help me. Looking forward to hearing from you real soon. Thank you, Keith
Hi Keith , put your finger an inch down in the soil . If the soil is damp dont water , it it is dry , water . Chances are you are correct in that they are either over watered or underwatered . 🌸😊
@@KellyLehman Okay. Thank you for getting back to me. I think I over watered my plants, I'm not happy. I can't believe I did this to them. I had them all year. Question, now that the leaves are all falling off can the plant be saved? If so, what do I do?
@@khhenley1 I would try to dry out the roots a bit if you think they re waterlogged . Perhaps , gently pull the plant from the pot and loosen some of the soggy soil around the roots with your fingers then place in some fresh dryer soil so the roots dont stay soggy and die . Good luck . 🌸😊
This could be a sign that your poinsettia is getting either too much or too little water. Unfortunately falling flowers are signs for both issues . Do the knuckle test on it. Stick your finger in the soil up to your second knuckle . If the tip of your finger comes out with damp soil , it may mean the plant is getting water logged . Poinsettias come from a very arid region with small amounts of rain fall. If you stick your finger in and it comes out with no moisture at all, the poinsettia may need a little water . Also make sure it’s not near heating ducts or stoves . The excess heat could also make tue leaves drop . 🌸
@KellyLehman much appreciated for your tutorial and comprehensive reply. It is at level 6 on moisture meter and watered 10days ago after been at level 2 and felt 75% of 4" pot soil as dry even some leaves were wilting before watering. It is in bright indirect sunlight and more dark greenish burgundy leaves are turning red. The problem is 1. The buds almost all dropped. 2. I worry that this plant type first time to have, is concerned not only about frequency of watering but also amount Meaning not to water till comes out of drainage holes but just to get it moist What do you think
Do any of you have any poinsettia plants left from the holiday? If you do, let me know in the comments below!
