Beautiful canal to walk along seeing the various boats. The town centre is gorgeous, loved that unicyclist and looked like you found a voice plane for a drink 😃 ~ Anna 👍
just reading that HB was a georgian / victorian / C20th textile town. not just wool as you might expect but also cotton and silk. explains why there are some expensive looking buildings in the town with interesting architecture. great to see a place all made out of the same kind of mellow stone. jerusalem, strangely, is another place where all the buildings are made of the same kind of stone
Yes, there were some wonderful buildings there. It was obviously a very wealthy place at one time. Seems to be thriving in a different way now as well.

Those walking paths along these canals are really amazing!! Really can't imagine living in one fulltime, let alone trying to steer it! lol A wonderful stroll!
Ha ha ha! It is pronounced My-Thom-Royd. My great -grandfather came from Mythomroyd. Coincidentally we did that very same walk to HB along the cut from Mytholmroyd a couple of weeks back. Of all my local walking areas, Calderdale is definitely my favourite. If you go again, there is a community run pub called the Robin Hood a bit higher up Cragg Vale which is excellent. A very interesting watch Des. Nice to see your take on somewhere quite local.
Hi sir. That looked a grand day out. I do like canal and I feel people just don't get how important they were and are at times. That market looked great...and the sun came out looks like an actual Summers day lol. We are getting wind and lots of rain 🤦♂️🤬. I'm jealous of that sun lol. Nice video. Hope your keeping well. I love these old English towns and you're never far from one even when you've in central Manchester or Birmingham.
