    Hi Clayton
Short and sweet, but very effective!
Try using dried out tea leaves (Tea bags) blitzed in food processor and applied in a pepper shaker, more absorbent and to scale instead of dirt/sand mix.
Plus you can use the paper to make tarps etc with a more realistic texture.
Thanks for sharing your great little vignette mate ❤😊

This content is really inspirational. So much so I have ordered some AK terrain dark earth!...I have made a few dioramas in the past but this product looks worth a try. Am really enjoying your style of delivery. You have a real talent of explaining techniques/methods. Many thanks 👍👌.

That’s terrific to hear. I try to make the content accessible and understandable but maintain a decent pace.
Great re the paste. It’s a good product. Most of the other manufacturers have versions of it too. Just remember to keep the lid on tight because it does dry out over time once you open.
      Thanks for connecting 💪🙏🍀

    Hi Clayton.
This was a great tutorial on presenting your model on a simple base. I have done a few that were a bit less professional than your example, but they came out OK I guess.
I recently made a vignette for my young grandson, featuring a German ‘Elephant’ tank hunter on a rural road in what I perceived as Russia. Whilst I was not really happy with it, my grandson was over the moon to receive it for his birthday. His huge grin and the hug I got was worth the effort. Your tutorial has given me some ideas that I will use on my next effort, so thanks for that. Regards the static grass applicator- I made my own using a battery operated flyswatter. I got the idea from one of the model railroad guys on YT, and it works perfectly.
I will also be visiting my local trophy shop for some ideas on bases for future projects. Great episode mate, and the Hetzer looks fantastic. Cheers for now!

Nicely finished off Clayton. The base/model are totally fantastic. My only gripe are the figures, to my eye they don't really seem to blend with the vehicle. The crouching guy looks like hes lost a contact lens and is desperately grovelling through the grass to try and find it using his one good eye. And the standing figure, I can't out if hes about to do a jig or about the surrender. That's my two cents worth. I've still got a few one cent pieces floating around the place if you want some change for my opinion.

For someone that has no experience in graphic design where would you recommend the go to design cards to put on their bases? I have a local office depot and UPS that I could use to print. Also what paperweight or cardstock would you recommend?

    • @workbenchhobbies4316
      @workbenchhobbies4316  11 месяцев назад +1

Hey 👋 The first online site that comes to mind would be Canva. It’s all drag and drop and I believe pretty easy to use. They have preset templates too I believe.
My prints were actually on a styrene sheet, but if you wanted to use card the heavier the better. 420gsm or higher…but get creative with it. Even paper with torn and frayed edges could look cool.
      Hope that helps 🍀

While I was examining the inside of my static grass applicator, I accidentally touched the metal part and pressed the ‘on’ button. This sent me flying 2 inches off the ground, and I let out a strange noise.

Sand from your back yard does not scale well, and looks like gravel when used in a diorama. Use talc powder or baking soda to simulate sand.
