Honestly, you are the best reviewer of this laptop I have watched many videos concerning this laptop as I am expecting to have such laptop whithin few next days and your comprehensive review have helped me alot
I love how thorough your video was! I’ve currently gone down the rabbit hole searching for a perfect 13-14” 2 in 1 laptop. I’m just starting my clothing brand and wanted to be able to run Photoshop/ Illustrator or possibly go back to school for graphic design. Any suggestions?
Video editing is probably the most demanding than others that you listed, and is not too difficult to accomplish. If not 4k editing frequently, this laptop will do for you. I personally use much older Dell XPS 13, 2in1.
Excellent video, thanks !.... I am evaluating purchase of my new PC for professional business use and this MSI is one of my choices, which I believe will be the one I will go for. I do presentations all over the world, use the Thundebolt USB C ports, with an external adapter that connects with all PC projectors I find all over where I go in hospital conference rooms. I live on my PC, I currently use a Huawei PC Xmate i7, 13" (got used to travel and use 13", I love it), top of their line that however, since the last 3 years when I purchased it, hasn't changed much, hence my looking for a higher performance units, this seems to be the one. Several features that I wanted, are there, 32gb RAM, 13" size, 1Tb SDD, good processor, USB-C charging and Thunderbolt ports etc.. . thanks again Joseph. Ciao from Milan, Italy
Great, thorough review! I subscribed. I have the 12th gen version and it runs HOT! Without pushing the computing, it runs between 118 and 129. This is the hottest laptop I have (out of 15 that's I've owned over the years).
Thanks for a detailed review. I know this video is a while ago but...Did you get 10 hours running on "Balanced" User scenario? I just got this one at huge discount simply becuase there are newer Gen12 models out already. I also downgraded to Win10 for now and probably few more months for stability. Big thanks for letting me know that I can attach the Pen magnatically elsewhere from the side. Love it! Thanks again!.
Another great review! Wondering if the performance was throttled without power bank. Sounds like a great on the go solution. Not sure it would fit an airplane tray table in depth lol
This appears to be last years edition of this unit as it is my understanding that this years version changed one of the ports near the camera switch and that mort is now an HDMI port (instead of what is shown in this video). Am I correct with this observation or not?
Hi Joseph . Great video! I would like to ask your advice. I’m looking for a portable laptop for Autocad work (mainly 2d), the same size or smaller than an xps15. Preferably 13-15 inches. Out of all the laptops you have tested, what would you say is the most powerful or best laptop for these criteria? Thanks again!
@@JosephKim no worries. Appreciate the reply from someone who actually uses this software. I run everything on a 2017 xps13 with minimal issues. I’m thinking a 13 inch 11-12 Gen i7 ultrabook will do me just fine for a couple of years. Thanks again.
Left or right side it depends on the side from you look at it......just rotate the laptop an magically the pen will be attached on the right side......
Hi! I just started for searching a laptop for UX/UI , Photoshop , Illustrator maybe later for something else. In September i just start a school and my question is... This laptop will be fine for it ? I dont like Mac and am searching a windows devise my budget its 1300$. Thx and have a good day!
Hi! I just got my hands on one of these, and the computer gets NOTICEABLY and maybe even concerningly hot right above the keyboard and right below the screen. Was this an issue when you were testing? Do you think I should get it switched out?
@@JosephKim Hi! Wow, you responded! Youre my new favorite tech reviewer! Nothing much, simply going through with casual media consumption (Netflix watching) and after around 30 minutes or usage, it becomes hot to the touch. Does this seem like a defective device?
@@javieragd does its still touchable? my nitro 5 just got 105 c at full load and so you cant even touch the body. that call defect. dont worrie too much about heat issue. or maybe you turn the quite mode on?
@@JosephKim I tried looking around and ended up being confused. They aren't really specific to be honest. I'm trying to look at this specific model A11MT-022
An IMPORTANT FYI to anyone considering purchasing this... After viewing a different disassembly video about this computer, anyone considering it should know that it appears that the memory is NOT upgradable in this (it is SOLDIERED to the motherboard). SHAME ON YOU MSI !!! In other words, 16GB (or whatever it comes with) is the MOST you can ever have with this. I am 99.9% sure that I am correct about this and that this IMPORTANT FACT was NOT mention in this video. If I am incorrect, then please let know with a reply (along with SPECiFICALLY WHY you think I am).
msi.... bad build quality, at least for this summit e13 model. Its not even well designed, eg as this video mentioned, the keyboard side does not have any rubber to protect it for tablet mode. And also the demo unit i saw also had a fingerprint sensor with placement that is not aligned to the case. And the plastic noise in the video....
Such a detailed review! You even covered things I didn't know that I wanted to know. This was very helpful and enjoyable; two thumbs up!
Thank you so much!

12th gen is much hotter than 11th gen, but I did not expect it to be that much! Are you running windows 11?
Windows 11 Home. Most of what I do on the MSI is related to emails, news surfing, reading and writing documents. Right now, it's 118.
@@wiseguy10017 wait. Is it in Fahrenheit? Or Celsius?
That made me chuckle. Fahrenheit. 120 celsius would melt my skin.
@@wiseguy10017 oh okay. I was scared for sec there. I don't think they are designed to be hotter than 100 degree celcius. What power mode are you in?

I can't say for certain of it was balanced vs. Eco. Different spec can impact the performance though.

Good point. I often have to use the laptop on my lap instead of the table for thag reason. Have you ever considered trackball for this reason?

Great content as usual !!!.
Could you equally review the MSI Summit E16 Flip?😁
I don't see the merit in 16" 2in1 devices as they are just too big. I even find 13" a bit too big :/

There may be a different sale around that time for different laptops.

Is that good for programming
Programming can be quite broad, so I can't say.
Are all of the different models of this laptop 120hz? Or only specific ones?
I'm not sure. You will have to look at the specs.

@@TorchicyGaming unfortunately, you are right. I can't see anywhere it says the refresh rate. But the screen spec seems the same.
All of them have 120Hz, with the same panel.
can you charge this from the right usb c port? ive not seen anyone try to charge it from the right side unit?
I'm not entirely sure as it's been awhile.
Would you recommend a docking device on this laptop?
These days, you can just get a USB-C hub.
r there models with 2 m.2 slots, obviously with touchscreen & 120hz
I'm not sure! Sorry.

Didn't MSI just drop 12th gen intel versions of these?
They did! I didn't know that. Thanks for that info.

is the 12th gen intl better than surface pro 8 or 9?
