Yes Property Management can mess your head up. And can shorten your life span if you let it... the stress is crazy. But it’s never the same dull day. Just have to focus on what you can do to provide service to your clients (owners) and customers (Tenants). You’re the middle man... and you can’t turn shxt to sugar all the time!
For immediate release - Los Angeles - White Landlord Sues Black tenant who complained of Racism and Denial Housing Services. A landlord is counter- suing a rent control tenant for $10,000 after the tenant repeatedly asked for intercom repairs and extra parking. The landlord claims the tenant complaints caused him lost rents. The tenant is Black, the landlord is white. After years of tenant complaints, the owner still refuses to make repairs and provide extra parking to the tenant. But while the landlord is also claiming the tenant “harassed” him, no reason is given why the owner and management felt harassed in 2014 and did not complain about it until 2020. The Superior court case is 19STSC14394, filed December 16, 2019. The landlord is Walter Barratt of Hi Point Apts LLC. The offices of the state attorney general, county district attorney, and city attorney have been asked to join in the lawsuit. The property at 1522 Hi Point St 90035 was the subject of media attention in a full page ad in Random Lengths news (online out of San Pedro), p. 17, February 22, 2018, “Why racism thrives in America: unfair housing”. (Counter-defendants are Brett Parsons (Ph. 310-593-3955), Cynthia Reynosa ( (Ph. 310-593-3955), Kassandra Harris (213-908-8008), Walter Barratt/Hi Point Apts LLC (310-895-6693), and Power Property Group (management company) (Ph. 310-593-3955). (Stay away from Power Property Group who has been sued before for denial of housing services.)
This video is really helpful. I have an interview tomorrow for a property manager job for some condos in Hollywood and this made me feel more prepared. Thank you and best of luck :)
Hey, FYI, the name of your apartments is in the background of your shots. Not sure if you realize it or if you could get in trouble for it, just heads up.
Hey Angelica! This video is the most realistic vlog I saw about how property management really looks like. Question though, are you the one conducting background check to potential tenants or the owners do it themselves?
@@andrewmichael7715 Thanks for your input, Andrew! Property management company should have access to different tenant screening tools to ensure thorough screening.
Hi Angelica, what PMS do you use/have you used? So far, DoorLoop has been by far the most impressive, but am open to other options before going with that one.
There's a property manager position available and I want to know what I need to know so I can apply. I'm a quick cleaner. I learned medical front office in 2 weeks which includes billing, insurances, scheduling evaluations etc. I think with a week or 2 of hands on training I can pick up property manager
I have been working as a leasing agent for several years now, and was just promoted this week to property manager (I was the de facto assistant manager at my last property, hence the leap frogging over assistant to manager promotion). The email thing is REAL! So many emails!! The property I'm managing now is...troubled. In a city with a MAJOR housing shortage, I have to deal with a 17% vacancy rate. It's a beautiful property, but the maintenance budget is non existent. I'm glad I had the leasing agent experience, because I'm going to have to "sell" the owners on the idea of actually spending a couple of dollars to keep their property up to the level of what they are trying to charge for rent. Wish me luck!
My on site pm is a lazy bum, sleeps all day, drinks untill roughly 4ish am, smokes weed, crushes pills up on his 1st floor patio, doesnt keep grounds clean or doors secure *keypad code for entry, place is under heavy video/audio surv. in my 16 unit apartment building* by actual property owners who live out of state, 6/10 times grass needs cut. Wish i woulda knew all this before i moved my family here, but sometimes you gotta do whats affordable 🤷🏻♀️

Thank you for the real info. I am thinking of getting into this field in NYC. Sounds like a fun/challenging learning field. Love your sense of humor 😂

Hey Angelica! This video is the most realistic vlog I saw about how property management really looks like. Question though, are you the one conducting background check to potential tenants or the owners do it themselves?
The owner does not screen potential tenants. That's part of the reason you hire a property management company in the first place.
@@andrewmichael7715 Thanks for your input, Andrew! Property management company should have access to different tenant screening tools to ensure thorough screening.
Can you do both property management & real estate at the same time? Also I loved the video!💛
Yes! that is what I am doing now 😇
How has that been? How do you balance it altogether?

I've been thinking a bit about doing this. If I may ask, how much do you make as a property manager?
Salary varies depending on the market you serve and the size of the management company or owner. Usually about 50,000-80,000
It various because some of us get a free unit with paid bills plus a bi weekly check
How’s the work life balance ? Is it a regular 5-9 and vacation ?
9-5
Are you still doing property management?
is it apartment complex ?
Do you think I could be a property manager and work a full time job at the same time?
SnEaKy MiSTaKeZ No way!! Property management is a full time job and very stressful. You could try but I wouldn’t recommend it 🤷🏻♀️
You are not alone about being a coffee addict. I wish I would have known this long before. 🤦🏾♀️ ignorance is bliss.
Dom Faithful 😂
Do you get paid hourly or by commissions?
Property managers in Nevada generally get paid salary :) depends on the size of the portfolio and experience.
Any tips on how to get the managements. Attention?
DeveZ 1. resume 2. first impression 3. willingness to mold to company’s policies and procedures
Angelica XOXO sorry too bother you this much lol but how long does it take for them too get back?
