18:03 "I find that there is some confusion about these...." (proceeds to add to the confusion).
Andy, the Bass VI is actually a bass. Tuned to the same octave as a normal bass with the addition of a B string and a high E string. The instrument is tuned 1 octave below standard guitar tuning, the same range as a normal bass guitar, but with an extended higher range and shorter than normal scale length (30").
Indeed! 👍
youre right
Prices for made in Mexico Fender guitars has gotten INSANE. I have to find something used if I wanna spend less than $700. Might as well just get American.
Have you priced anything lately? Milk, gas, Big Macs? Everything is double
American stuff is way pricier than these. Especially the new AVRI line
@@jw112mailThat doesn't make it right..
@@TREVORJB101why would guitars exist in a bubble? I think the prices are on point.
The price difference between American and overseas guitars across the industry is really starting bot to make much sense. The overseas guitars are really getting close in price to American guitars.
Enjoyed the review of the Bass VI, but want to stress the info about the octave it's in is wrong. The low E on a regular guitar is about 83hz, for a bass it's just one octave lower at about 41hz (two octaves lower would be more felt than heard). The Bass VI is also 41hz. It is a bass, with the same scale length as a short scale bass. It will sound different than say a P or Jazz bass due to different strings, pickups, and especially if it's played through a guitar instead of bass amp. It's an incredibly versatile instrument.
Just getting very expensive. A USA is a few dollars more!
Wish they would have used nitro finishes on the 50s and 60s models. We need more nitro
To expansive.
Cool guitars. I don't find this sunburst very appealing though. Why is there a shortage on yellow on all the latest Fender sunbursts? it's a sort of black to brown. What happened to the yellow in the 50s sunburst and the red and yellow in the 60s and 70s?
Agreed..they all look very cheap like on a Squier. I've noticed you've gotta go Custom Shop or American Vintage to get a proper sunburst..and even some of the AV ones are hit and miss..
I’m so sorry, but a bass guitar actually is just one octave lower than a normal guitar. So yes, even though it feels and sounds different, the Fender Bass VI is NOT an octave higher than a bass guitar. It’s exactly the same. So the Bass VI is indeed a 6 string bass guitar.
I think of it almost more like a baritone guitar, except a fifth lower
@@myworms : Which makes this technically a bass guitar. 😬
Yeah, what he said was really confusing and made me question my sanity.

Technically a 4 string bass and a bass vi have the same 4 low strings, tuned to the same pitch, and not an octave below a bass vi, but cool video demo of the new line nonetheless!
I really like the nocaster however, I refuse to pay more than what my 2019 American performer cost me. Fender needs to lower prices on Mexican made guitars period.
Andy, a 4 string bass is 1 octave lower than a guitar’s lowest 4 strings. A bass vi is also 1 octave lower than a guitar. A bass is not 1 octave lower than a bass vi, which would be 2 octaves lower than a guitar. It can be confusing. 18:04
I would take the nocastor.
I'm waiting for someone to compare original Vintera 50s vs Vintera ii Nocaster...please?
The 60’s strat sounded the best to me. Aesthetically, I liked the no caster and the 60’s tele best. And the bass (baritone electric?) was a pleasure to listen to. I’m looking forward to your future presentations on them individually. Another great video, gentlemen.
Finally, Vintera lineup with classic colors
no mustang😐
Glad to see this 60's Strat in Olympic White with real rosewood. I almost pulled the trigger on the American Vintage, and it is at least $600 overpriced, in my opinion.
Rosewood is back, yes!
How about the player series, are they going to use rosewood as well?
I enjoy the talks gentleman but what were the updates they made to these besides the rosewood board? Vintera 1 vs Vintera 2. What’s the differences????
A 4 string ‘is a lower octave than a Bass VI’⁉️ A Bass VI ‘is not a bass guitar’? If he was still alive, perhaps you could explain that to Jack Bruce in his Manfred Mann and Cream era‼️
The bottom EADG string on a Bass VI are, effectively, the same strings as those on a Precision or Jazz - the Bass VI is tuned EADGBe - i.e. everything one octave down from a ‘conventional’ 6-string guitar tuning - as opposed to the (usual tunings of) BEADG of a modern 5 string, and BEADGC of a modern 6 string bass.
In ALL those cases the lowest E is the SAME octave note.
Research… a wondrous thing.
Oh, and Vintera II Strats have a 5, not 3, way p/u switch; as well as, what appears on screen at least as, reddish (as opposed to the ‘vintage correct’ VERY yellow) ‘burst centres, which just looks weird.
Vintera 50 strat and tele.....the 60's are too jazzy.........70's maybe for some keith richards rhythms........that 50's tele sounds like it could be a chicken pickers dream right there.
I've got a Vintera (I) and it's supposed to have "Pau Ferro" (Honduran rosewood) but it's absolutely indistinguishable from the rosewood on any of my other guitars. Either the factory accidentally put rosewood on, (doubtful) or it's just a very dark example of PF. In either case, it's indistinguishable from rosewood and I'm tickled pink.
I will say, however, that the pickups on the 60s vintera sound quite thin to my ears. They're not very "full" if you know what I mean. That's fine some of the time and I guess it's why we have more than one guitar! Is that how they really were in the 60s? I don't know to be honest.
Hold up, a bass is tuned 1 octave below a guitar, what you talking about?
the 70s tele wins for me
Really nice playing Cooper. The 60 Thinline looks and sounds really good. I hope the Quality Control is better than with the last vinteras…
what about this versus the american vintage II? opinions?
I was waiting for today. You guys do it right. Now which Tele?
Fender Competition Mustang look awesome i love the colors
I love you Jesus 🤣🙏
Seriously, Cooper’s a good sport 😎👍
I just got the 60’s model in OW and I’m loving it.
“time just melds together into an endless abyss…”
Er, uh. Hey, Cooper G., ya doin’ ok, buddy? Is there someone you can call to come pick you up and take you home, CG?
Tryin my best dawg
I like the 50's Strat and Tele
Wow what a player 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just too expensive
I don't think the vintera II telecaster deluxe has polyurethane finish though....in Fender's website it says polyester
Really cool overview of this new lineup. I completely agree with Cooper's take. 51 Tele neck would be awesome and that Deluxe Tele's sound was perfection. I'm a little intimidated by that Bass VI though.
And somehow you copyright colors too. I love the look of double cream but I hate that I'm limited to Dimarzio basically if I want that.
I’m a rosewood 60s strat guy all day long but REALLY liked the sound from the 50s strat. To my ears, rhymes sounded smoother and less brittle. Only way to know for sure is try both for myself 😊
I ended up grabbing the Bass VI in Lake Placid Blue and I'm so glad I did it. I had a Squier one that I was about to upgrade with a mute, some Curtis Novak pickups and an AVRI trem, and these things leaked... so I held off and sold the Squier. The pickups that come with the Vintera II are pretty darn nice, nice enough that I think I wouldn't have upgraded them if I hadn't already bought the pickups, lol. I got the pickups in with some LaBella flat wounds and it's so much fun to play.
I always love your reviews, and then of course I could listen to Cooper play guitar all day, so I always stick around for that.
I new this was coming because they discounted the Vintera line in the last few months. Because they’re reintroducing rosewood fretboards and unloading the PaoFerro. Next will be the Player and Plsyer Plus line.
Funny or not I was alive when a lot of these came out but they were definitely at that time out of my price range. What is the inventory like at Fender if I want to order through you? Good show. I like the 60's strat. One of those Teles when you hit the 3rd switch had a hint of distortion, it was cool. Thanks
Would like to see them offer an affordable vintera B Bender telecaster version.
That would require some thought. IIRC, the first bender was made in 67 or 68, in a 54 guitar...what era would you put it in? Market for benders would be small and you couldn't make enough people happy. It's better to pick your favorite guitar and add a bender. For me it was a Vintera 50s + a Glaser bender.
@@jim232777
Time spent ordering/buying/waiting on delivery,
then disassembling the guitar.... to ship the body off.... packing and shipping fees.... waiting weeks, even months to get it back, then reassembling the guitar, in alot of cases people would pay to have it done. Add all the cost and time spent, where as fender could offer an less expensive version' off the shelf $2000.00 or less price tag vs the Brent Mason $3000.00. ???
You don't think would sell?
Gentlemen what is the green HSS guitar behind Cooper?
My Bass VI had many QC problems : (
Hi, are these Vintera Fender guitars "reissues?"
Will there be any vintera ii roadworn Stratocaster?
Hendrix is dead? I just saw his video...
Will they take it to 3? I'm hoping they take it to 11!
do a fender venter 2 tele vs sire t7
Is it a slab rosewood board on the 60s Strat?
yes
Vintera isn't a word in itself in Spanish but vinta is - it means vintage, and so vintero/a could be a derivative of it (I'm guessing the feminine was used because the Spanish for guitar also is).
He was referencing "dos" not II since they are made in Mexico. They go on to say Vintera is a made up word
Hate the radius.
Then buy one of the zillion other Fender models with 9.5".
These are specifically for people who want the vintage radius. If you don't, go Player.
If they made a modified version of the olympic white with the truss rod on the top side the guitar would be a killer. I know it is the vintage spec but the truss rod on the heel is really inconvenient if you adjust a lot.
Agree it is more convenient at the headstock, but just loosen and capo your strings at the first fret before unscrewing the bolts. It's still more of a pain but it won't cost you a set of strings.
So the American Vint ones were way better and more scarce? Good to know. I agree that the 60s Strat and Tele might be the best ones here for people who don't already have that level of guitar and want something not just entry-level.
I think most modern players won't like the 50s neck shape. If you started on an Affinity or something, it will be a BIG adjustment.
I don't think thinlines sound as good, but no hums in that one for reason.
the thick necks aren't as bad as the heavy lacquer glop.
don't know if the frets are the less tall ones. guess so
With Squier it's always just the fret ends are terrible and often meh pickups, right?
What, again? Fender's sad re-hash says they have no more ideas. Come on, something new, please!
The argument about comparing original Fender guitar price to todays with inflation doesn’t fly here…these are lower quality guitars, made across the border, and they aren’t collectible or desirable enough in the long term…these will only depreciate in value. 5-10 years from now, you’ll see them all over eBay for 750 bucks
I wish they were all 9.5" radius
No way. The 7.5 is the reason many of us are considering it. Ever played a 7.5? You’ll luv it.
Please go forward. Some body has to put an end to this shit of going back to 50 years ago. What the hell? Lets progress.
Have you no romance sir!?!
This isn't fender's only line lmao.
