I wouldn't mind seeing a whole series of these step by step vids of all sorts of mods and repairs i know you've done some on the older beast with the axles and what not but this was by far the best one step by step you've done so far
Personally I don’t silicone or RTV the air box lid. Most Honda lids don’t leak as long as it’s not warped and not dirty. You may get a little water if any, but not enough to hurt anything. I’d rather to still be able to service my air filter and check my box if I do swamp the intake.
If you get the dealership to do it, a lot of the time you can keep your factory warranty. I had my dealership install a worrier riser kit on my 2020 rubicon at the same time they did the first service and valve adjustment. They didn’t charge me labor since they already had the bike apart. Just payed for the service and the snorkel.
I definitely use dielectric grease for all the plugs... but I prefer to seal up the airbox with the ultra black. Sure...it's a bit of work to take the lid off... but it's worth it. I appreciate the tip tho sir!
I always wondered this sorry if it was a dumb question when putting a snorkel on what was required to keep the electrical from getting damaged when being submerged underwater for so long the dielectric grease is all that you need or do you have to seal off those boxes as well?
Sorry I just saw this! I just dielectric grease every electrical connection on the bike. I've not really had any electric issues and I take my bikes between 6-7 foot deep
The airbox is just the two clamps, the crankcase breather hose, and the O2 sensor clip and two push pins clips. I'm doing another 2020 tomorrow, I will try to remember to do a video of the teardown
I build all my snorkels next to the frame and use pvc pressure fittings to keep them from wobbling around. Behind the plastics out of sight I zip tie the pipe to the frame for extra support from it wobbling...I can't stand a wobbly snorkel
Is there a rubber boots on the vertical snorkel standpipe? If so, switch it out with a pressure coupling and make sure it hubs at both ends of the coupling
Nice job thanks for the video really needed it nobody else on RUclips has a video like this thank you so much God bless you and your family... 💯❤️🤍💙🇺🇲💪✌️👌👍👍
YOu think you could do this to my sportsman 90 I've attempted it I'm planning on testing it in 2 days... I have to seal the airbox and glue my fittings. If it doesn't work could you do mine???
So I tried. It got pretty far but gen my dad decided to take it apart and it never got put back together. If we could somehow work on you snorkeling it and sorta putting it back together. I could pay you
Mine was sealed air tight from the factory 2017 model. No silicone and will suck the whole air box in. I was told not to silicone a air box on a fuel injected bike mine does fine without silicone
Do you recommend a K& N air filter as a replacement for the stock one. Also i am getting those same rims, did he use the same size rims and tires all the way around?
I was told and I read the k&N filter let’s in more dirt then the stock one. I don’t want to add a filter that isn’t as good as the factory. I also read a mechanic that works on these rebuilding them said the ones that have k&N filters other then the stock the throttle body is always has more dirt and the engines need rebuilding sooner. Can you give me your opinion on this matter?
I recommend either changing the boot or the whole axle. I hate dealing with the boots. Before I will rebuild an axle I will buy a new one. That's just me though.
I do. Reason being...if the airbox leaks and you are unaware, you can do detrimental damage to everything hooked to the vents ... just my personal opinion
@@gavin8832possible but I recommend the green transition glue for abs to pvc. I've yet to have any issues with the black...but get the green if available
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv ok thanks I’ve looked everywhere but haven’t really found any information. People only seem to use abs pipe with pvc fittings on snorkels lol.
Abs is way lighter...pvc pressure fittings have twice the glue joint socket space. Makes for better setup than using abs vent and drain fittings...aka dwv fittings
Well marlon e. My shit will idle underwater in 6 foot deep water until the fucking gas runs out... with a new top end on a 2019... so believe that video if you want to. That bike of his already wouldn't idle underwater. He WAS the reason I ran Hondas, but the way he put that video out...kinda blew it for me. Not with a Honda, but rather the guy I used to look to for motivation and advice. Take what you want from my comment, the same goes for his video. But either way, don't come at me with that shit when the proof is in my videos.

Thanks brother I appreciate it!!! I will definitely try to make more mods videos!
It was so nice to work on such a clean bike!!!

Always a great time viewing your vids and this how to will help all of folks

Can you tell me parts list for the snorkel? Like do I need silicone?
Where are you located because I want you do snorkel my Honda
Wallace nc
Some Damnfools Atv do you know of anybody in Florida that can do it
What are the sizes for the wheel and tires and how much are those running
An are all the vent lines the same size on the 2020s
Can you get the Honda dealer ship to snorkel a four wheeler if you buy a kit your self
Probably be a good idea to get the kit... and save yourself the markup.
Or if you are near NC I can do it for you

For all your plugs and air box lid seal use dielectric grease it seals great and you can always take your air box lid off with no problem

What slides onto the piece you cut off the stock white airbox ?
Coupling or 45°.... depending on how you are routing it
What did you use in this video? Hoping to do same setup but around shock to center snorkel
What snorkel is that
I make them all myself.
i know this is an old video, but did you just put the 1 1/4 pvc into the piece you put into the air box?
An what do you do with the o2 sensor
KevWitDaMc I have same question
You guys figure this out
did you do anything to secure it or does it wobble on the rack

What did you use to glue the pipes together
I need to do this to my 17 Rancher

Did you have to dielectric grease the diodes in the fuse box?
Yessir!!!

I just ran across your channel, good solid work man, just subscribed lol have a good one!!
Thanks brother I appreciate it!!!
Why the 90 degree turn down on the exhaust?
Ok so what fitting goes in the air box
I used a short piece of 1-1/2 pipe and cut a short section off the factory plastic snorkel and sealed it up good
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv thank ya
Man you need to just do snorkels for a little bit on the side you and Kyle know exactly how to do it the right way
About how tall was this snorkel. Someone is doing a 2 1/2 ft on mine and just wondering what it’s gonna look like
3' above the racks
where can i find someone in my area to do mine??????
Put up a post on Facebook in your area on some of the ATV groups.
What was you saying about the crank case mod?
What kind of cylocone did you use for the air box and what did u use to seal it off with
Permatex ultra black gasket maker
I thought I showed it in the video
Some Damnfools Atv you might have not sure it kept freezing but thanks a lot I’m going to snorkel my 420 tommorow just needed to know
Where you get it from

What does the 90 degree exhaust tip do
Creates a air pocket in the exhaust in case it dies underwater you can start it back up
Some Damnfools Atv wow super smart idea never thought of that and great video as well 🤙
Some Damnfools Atv will it idle underwater with the 90 degree exhaust tip
So what do you do with the roll over switch?
Take it apart and put silicone in it
Awesome video!

I prefer inch and a half. That's what I run on most every Honda I do
What size are the vent line hoses
@Some Damnfools Atv what size vent lines?
1/4 inside diameter and 3/16 inside diameter
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv thanks and i was having some trouble hearing what kind of pvc sizes I need to get from home depot

Doesn't that void the warranty when you snorkel it?
Yessir unless the dealer does it then it leaks and they void it anyway. Let someone experienced do it and have no problems
Will this work for a Honda 520 foreman?
Yessir I believe so.
Some Damnfools Atv you got a list of the things I need wrote up?
How would you uninstall it
Save the factory piece that comes out of the airbox
Where did you get the turndown 90 mod
Hardware store or Lowe's/ home Depot
I just put my new 6 ball all balls axle about 2 weeks ago and I allready busted the damn boot Do I need to get a whole new boot or can I seal it up

Takes me about 15 minutes. Depending on a Polaris piece of shit
What size is the snorkel
What all fittings do i need for the snorkel?
Damn I would get you to do mine for 60 ...looks like I'm going to have to do it my self I guess...hopefully I'm getting a 21 green one here soon
I just bought the 2021 and she's a beaut!!! Definitely gotta give it a snorkel though bc it does not like water at all
Niiice!!!
I need to do this to my 2021 Rancher
Can you do it in my atv? Where are you ubicated?
What size 45s do you use
i got a 2021 honda racher needs a snorkel
In in NC if you want to bring it to me
What kind of pipe are you using ?
Looks like regular PVC from any hardware store
Is that yours?
No. It's my friends new bike
How can I get in touch with you. I wont you to do my snorkel on same bike
Somedamnfoolsatv on Instagram, or Timothy Russell on Facebook
So you like the vents ran up versus into the airbox? I’ve seen both just wondering your opinion
I do. Reason being...if the airbox leaks and you are unaware, you can do detrimental damage to everything hooked to the vents ... just my personal opinion
Some Damnfools Atv yeah that makes sense. Was just worried about if I flipped it if water would get into all the vents and it be worse

The green transition glue

For aftermarket exhaust... definitely! For a stock bike stock exhaust I recommend try without it and turn idle up a little to try and save a dollar
Yea ima just pay somebody for to do it 🤣

It costs that much for the materials to do it now due to inflation.

painted pvc will flake unless you use adhesion promoter
What size and how long of hose did you use on crankcase breather?
4 foot of 1/2" inside diameter heater hose from auro parts store
Would it pretty much be the same thing for a 2020 foreman 520?
Yessir!!!
How do you change you’re air filter after you seal it?
I always start with a new filter, and if I need to change it I pull the airbox back out and cut the lid loose.
What size vent lines is it?
3/16 i.d. and 1/4 i.d.
