- This may be the most amazing accessory you can get for your F1 simulator experience. A replica of the 2020 Ferrari F1 wheel, the SF1000 features all the switches, dials and buttons, as well as a full, working LCD screen.
Here, Trev sets it up on the Playseat F1 Ultimate and works out how to get the screen going on the Xbox version of F1 2020
I finally got one after waiting for months! I was not going to pay the $600+ scalper's price and glad I held back because I got it at retail for $349. The wheel itself is great, doesn't feel cheap (only the clutches) but there are several downsides to it. For instance, in F1 2022 you can only map a few buttons but not all to do certain things, I know this is mainly the game's fault but it doesn't make sense to have such amazing wheel and only be able to use 50% of the buttons. The main encoder won't work in the game (the one with the ferrari logo) then the rest like phase, engine and grip you also can't use, you are only tied to use the scrolling type encoders on the side but you can only use one of them. The shifter unit is very solid, but too solid for being a sim racing or even real life. The magnets are ok but the loud clicking sound is something that other wheels don't have such as Fanatec v2, Moza racing xf1, gtc (I've used all of those and the clicking sound is a lot less than the sf1000) The positive about the wheel is that you can use it with ACC so you're not just tied to an F1 title. Though I wish I could use it for AMS2 but for now I think I have a game for F1 cars and a game for gt3 cars which this wheel works good.
I also have the TS-XW base on my pc and I can say that although is 4-5 years since it came out to the market, it still performs very well for the price. Also worth nothing is that I do have the P310 mod steering wheel and the force feedback and road details seem less (or weaker) than using the sf1000 wheel (both are the same width, so not sure what makes it feel different) This base is really good comparing to the entry level fanatec DD which is rated at 5nm (standard power supply) to the tsxw at 6 nm (remember, my comparison is what you get for the price point) but always DD you will get a little more details but I would say maybe 10% more or so. All in all I think the SF1000 wheel is amazing as it looks stunning as a 1-1 ratio to the real wheel, though I wish that F1 will make this wheel 100% compatible with the game so then we can use the encoders as they were meant for.
How did you map the pit button? I have a thrustmaster wheel base and when I upgraded the pedals to Heusinkveld, I had to remap my wheel but the pit button doesn't appear?
Just about to buy a F1 wheel for my sim set up. And out all the videos I've seen, as soon as this man dropped 'Bunnings' in there I was sold.
How TF do you get the display to show telemetry??? Im on xbox f1 2021. Do I have to use UDP?
It's a nice wheel, but I'll have to wait for fanatec to do something similar to go on my direct drive

@@ags911 yes absolutely possible, I'm currently using a phone with the dash panel app on it that gives all that info and more. I have it on my fanatec DD1 base just behind nthe wheel. The best part about that is the screen is stationary and easy to read the data

You dont need UDP mode for the F1 games, they natively support the wheel. Works fine on mine.
UDP is for other games, think iracing is now natively supported too.
Bloody amazing wheel, sold all my fanatec stuff for this.

Xbox: After updating all firmware and connecting to my network my screen was still not working. SOLUTION: Change UDP Mode to F1 2020. Works perfectly now. What's frustrating is that on the Xbox you only have like 4 buttons you can really program.

Thank you for the great video. I followed your instructions and set everything up same as you did. Everything looked the same as you showed. However, for some reason, nothing is broadcast to my wheel display (I only see the TM/Ferrari logo). I tried both F1 2020 and F1 2021 with UDP on. Has someone experienced similar problem?

@@markjuhhh1302 In the meantime I think I figured out what my problem was. I have a weak wifi signal in the basement where I have my equipment. So I use a wifi extension device (Strong Dual Band Repeater 750) there. For some reason, the wheel couldn't link with that properly. Once I took the wheel upstairs, it linked perfectly with my main router and everything started to work as it should. Funny thing is, after I took it back downstairs, it started to work properly with the extension device and I have no problems since. So I guess after all it was kind of "turn it off and on again" solution.
@@jakubjankura6991 yeah hi i bought a booster and yeah i couldnt link up with the booster as it was still finding the router and dont know how to get the wheel to forget my router so think i will move my front section of my rig to the lounge for 5 mins so i hopefully connect to the wheel. Im able to put the 12345678 in but as soon as i then try to link up the wheel from my fone it doesnt connect. Did u have that problem where the tm via the portal when u put ur own home network password in it wouldnt connect and even dissappear from ur screen for a few seconds or so. Its so stressing me out. Grrrrr. Lol
Do you find having enough FFB playing F1 games with that base? I play F1 a lot but I’m currently driving on a T300 fully customized with extra fans etc. I still feel like the T300 doesn’t have the strength enough to really enjoy driving an F1 car. There’s no enough force when driving in curves. I’m about to upgrade to a TGT II that’s it’s pretty much similar to the TS-WS system.
i have just noticed that on the calibration screen u put the wheelbase under the tmx as ts xw setting isnt there so i will do that tomorrow now that i have finally linked my wheel up

I live in the USA as well and have been doing some research. I plan to go with the NLR S015 foldable setup and then you just get the SF1000 wheel, TSXW Servo base for Xbox and the thrust master pedals. You can get everything on Amazon for around $1,300 USD. It's not cheap but nothing is.

Did you not need to calibrate the wheel via pc first? Or was it plug & play?
I have a question would like to verify woth you about the gas and brake panel are too high and make you uncomfortable after you play for long hours? Is anyway it can be adjust the height on those panel? I just want to make sure before i buy it. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello, do you know why I have a 15" lag between the game and the steering wheel screen? Could it be wi-fi?
I have done all these steps. I have updated firmware for both wheel and base. Hooked up to my Wi-Fi and changed telemetry settings and still won’t show up on my wheel display

I have done that then i go into the portal and click on my own wifi network then puts my own password in and the tm dissappears on my fone and asks me to sign in again. I dont get it. Anyone help.
My wheel started displaying the udp on my screen automatically, I play f1 2021 on ps5. Also would this automatically connect when f1 2022 comes out or does it need a driver update?

“connect your phone to the wheel” is very vague. I went to settings and it asks for a password but where do i get the password ? I updated the firmware of the wheel and i don’t actually have the option to chose UDP or Codemasters F1

I believe one of the twistable switches toggles between axis and button modes for the paddles, check the manual
Did you find a way. I got my wheel today and was a bit disappointed as I pulled the clutch pedal and the game config hasn't react.
I have the SF1000 with the T300 RS base. But I can't connect it to F1 2021 on my PS4. I followed every step on the channel of Thrustmaster but it still doesn't work. Does anybody else have similar problems or isn't it yet compatibale with F1 2021?

im running the T300 RS and it's solid. i don't have this wheel yrt though because i live in the united states
Well done for making a wheel compatible with T300 but not T500, amazing
t500 is an old wheel, and t300 is a much more modern wheel, they expect people to upgrade to the later models
T500 is an old wheel for ps3 with old technology, they cant support it forever.

The wheel has a big flaw.
Playstation and xbox System Buttons are fixed on s1. Next to your thumb.
I cant recommend the wheel for Consoles at All.

I’ve just got this wheel. I’m on ps5. I literally unboxed the wheel, attached it to the base (I have a t300rs). Turned it on, started F1 22, telemetry working. Didn’t have to do anything at all, aside from on the screen, turning it to codemasters f12019,2020. No connecting the wifi etc. even in game, the UDP isn’t even on.
Same with ACC and GT7. Start the games. The telemetry just appears.

@@hazza165 yes I think it does. But you have to set it up with the telemetry through wifi. Whereas ps5 it’s just plug and play.

I was lucky to see it at my friend house, I tested with PS4 and F1 2020, really nice, easy to connect on T300 base, and built with first level materials. It's not cheap, but I hope price will go down next 2-3 months.

If you're using this on xbox this wheel is only as good as it looks. I own it and it spends all of its time in the box I'm only keeping it as I will eventually buy a pc. Great review and great product just not for xbox unfortunately.

Look it's a con. On Xbox you can't bind any button to any function you like. What a rip off. It's a joke. Do not buy this trash. I've been waiting for someone to do a video using the Xbox. Now we know the bindings will not work. telemetry is not in real time. This is what Thrustmaster does not want you to know.

Telemetry is in real time (if you set it up correctly)
Bindings are completely possible if you understand the limitations are the NUMBER of bindings available on an Xbox controller.

While buttons are customizable, you’re severely limited. You have no more buttons than the open wheel add on. You can’t do brake bias and diff on the wheels without over-riding something else. Is glitzy and beautiful, sure but on Xbox it just doesn’t function as it should. For Pc or Ps great, not for Xbox unfortunately. Not worth spending $200 more for a screen in my opinion when the open wheel gives the same functionality as far as mappable buttons

The limitations make me want to get a pc to bind them all. It lets you bind them but not use it on the actual game
