- Billy Porter made history by winning an Emmy in 2019 for his role as Pray Tell, a character who is HIV-positive, on the FX series "Pose."
Now Porter has shared that he's been drawing on his own life as a gay man living with HIV for the role.

Why do ppl feel the need to disclose their medical history like that? I don't go around shouting "im anemic". Just live your life bro. Not the public's business to know that.

@@Zanderthegrape lmfao did I say they should. I said ppl as in all ppl. Besides, you can tell a person has cancer at least 70% of the time, without it being announced. I work with them.
There's nothing brave about disclosing your medical history. That's personal and private. Just take care of yourself and take the precautions you need to not spread it if what you have is contagious.

I love me some Billy Porter and I'm glad that he was finally able to find the strength and courage to speak out. He is now only freeing himself, but he is encouraging others to let go of that weight of shame that society has has put on others who are living with the virus. Just add the incurable std status to the driver’s license. Mandate everyone to go get tested every 6months or at the time of testing. Old driver’s license gets destroyed, if stolen or lost you can still check online the most updated std status showing the testing date. Go get tested, doctors report to the state, the state puts in on the driver’s license. Can request to see drivers license with the most updated std status and testing date. Solution for minimizing and preventing spread of STDs. If someone refuses to show you their drivers/ state license you know they have an std.

Im from India im hiv postive i got diagnosed 2 weeks back as im from orthodox family 😢 it's really hard to reveal my self to my family friends 😞 first i thought its better to commit suicide but after googling and talking to doctor im now little relieved but i didn't say it to my family im still scared to but im medication now my only hope now is for the hiv cure in coming future might be in a decade. God will help ous 🙏
