Some facts: Bromma is a beautiful airport, i used to call it "Baby London City". It's having a good airline called BRA (Means "Good" in Swedish, But also a short word for "Braathens Regional Airlines"). The airport is a problem, because Arlanda can't really handle any more traffic. So it is a big discussion, but the earliest date that they can start to phase up the airport is 2025, and it's planned from what i heard to fully shutdown 2039. The airport is the main hub for Swedish regional flights, and a pretty easy and small airport. Good for Planespotting aswell. The most common aircraft is the ATR 72, then the SAAB 340. Also a few SAAB 2000, and a Airbus A319 from Brussels that lands pretty much everyday except weekends. The Airbus A319 is the biggest aircrafts that can land at Bromma, and for about 2 years ago Brussels Airlines used a Sukhoi Superjet 100 (Leased by Cityjet) to fly into Bromma. Fun fact aswell: It is indeed a golf course, very close to the airport. A truely amazing airport!
I live next to the airport, they're not closing the airport. They tried to do it to build apartments there but the people that lived in the area protested against it. The airport isn't really disturbing anyone, it's quite a quiet airport. The only planes that operate here are the A319, ATR72, Saab 340 and 2000.
@@justdolphyparodies8164 Yeah that's also quite an airport....located damn close to the city centre causing a limitation in the height of buildings. One of the craziest airports I've seen pictures of is Gibraltar International. Due to small land area, the runway at that one is fairly short with both ends in water. The crazy thing about this airport, though, is that the runway is intersected by a very busy highway that has to be closed every time a plane takes off or lands.
@@space0015 I didn't know he did that yet, though I guess I'm not surprised. It's just the kind of airport he'd enjoy landing something like the Antonov An-990 at.
The problem with closing Bromma is that all traffic is going to Arlanda and the ATC is undermanned and closing bromma it’s going to put more stress on Arlanda a airport in need of modernization
