  • My new Graham Farish BR Standard 5mt 73050 (Oops, it's not a Black 5!) with DCC sound. Great little model! My first model with sound features so it's a learning curve!

Thanks, it really is! I was a bit unsure if it would sound any good when I ordered but for a tiny speaker it's very impressive!

Nice run through video. I am thinking of buying this model, whats your opinion after 3 months please?

      Thanks!
I had to send it back for a slight wobble but it's sorted now. Honestly I love it. It creeps along so slowly, the speaker and sounds are very good and it's such a smooth runner to boot. I'd definitely get one if you're thinking about it! By far my best steam loco

I bought one about a decade ago, looked very good, but had the motor mounted in the tender, which let GF keep all the running gear light and they could use it on several different models.
But it could barely pull 2 carriages on the flat, despite have 2 tires with rubber inserts.
After a lot of fiddling, I added as much lead as would fit under the coal, [which wasn't much], and it could pull 3 carriages.
How does yours pull so many more?

The new type is loco drive. It's so much better, the decoder socket is in the tender but that's great. All the weight is where it needs to be and no traction tyres! I know what you mean about the tender drives, my Farish A1 Tornado uses the same arrangement and to be honest it's a bit naff!

It's a BR Standard 5 not a Black 5 which were LMS locos (45xxx numbered) but otherwise a nice review video
