I was wondering if there was a site or central location to meet up with other Expats/Digital Nomads to help with the easing into the Thai Culture? Something to help with navigating, proper set up with basic needs and any other possible hurdles we may cross? Great video btw. The food budget is unreasonable. I'll typically go out with a friend and we get 3 dishes 'meals' and share them, 50 baht x3, rice is 20 baht x2, and water is 20 baht x2 so 230 Baht/2 and you haven't left a tip. You'll do that 3 times a day if you add snacks and 4 times a day without snacking. Thai food is like Chinese food, wait 20 minutes and you'll be hungry again. Every Thai is constantly eating and you will be too.

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  5 месяцев назад

      I think food costs really depend on each individual and their lifestyle preferences. For me, I often stick to fairly strict diets while I focus on fitness and work. Actually at times it was even less as I also do fasting. So this budget was reasonable for me. You can easily spend more, but if we are talking about a survival budget then this is definitely enough. Cheers

    whats the cost of ground beef and steak bro? im not into thai food

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  Год назад +1

      I recommend Inchi steaks that are sold at Big C. If I recall correctly it’s 160 baht for 2 medallion steaks (200 grams) and the quality is pretty good. Similar price for decent ground beef. Overall, Thailand isn’t a big beef eating country though. Pork and chicken definitely are the go to meats here.

    They are the same thing no? Mind sharing the link to the correct AIS plan you have?

    • @thebangkokguide

      To be honest, I barely notice a difference between the speeds except for uploading. The unlimited usually refers to a specific speed before it drops down to a lower tier, but the lower tier is actually really fast too. I don’t notice much difference except with uploading 4k which is a bit slower. I’ll find the name of the plan I have and get back to you! 😊

      It is surprisingly affordable to find nice places but there are plenty of more expensive condos as well. My previous condo was a 2 bedroom and 3 bathroom place at Asok for about $950. Downsized a little. Another friend of mine has a very modern 2 bedroom condo, and it’s almost $2000, and another has a very large 4 bedroom condo for about the same. On $5000, you will have lots of options and it will depend on your lifestyle preferences. I will do a video on my recommended cost of living soon, as it is quite different from a budget cost and much more suitable for retirement.

    Do they use US$ in Thailand? Or is it Thai Bath which is the legal currency... Totally useless video and not helpful at all unless you are an american since US$ fluctuate uneven with both THB and my currency NOK over time.

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  Год назад +2

      $1USD = 34THB = 10NOK - the fluctuation is generally about 5% but there have been swings by about 10% with all the pandemic mayhem in the past couple of years. If you factor in the fluctuations, +-10% or about $60 or (600NOK) in your case. It’s a quick google search to convert to any currency. The video is meant to give an approximate cost and USD is the most common global currency to give an understanding of value to people from any country.

    • @Oggiwara1

      I know that. But why not copy the popular channels and add the price in both THB and US$? Then the video would be useful on the fly without all the calculations back and forth...@@thebangkokguide
