A tip I learned in an etho video is that you only need haste 1 for terracotta which means only needing 1 level of beacon (less cleanup after heading to the mesa biome) Also never seen anyone mention the multiple effects bug you showed so thats awesome!
For sure, also its actually not a bug to have multiple effects because on bedrock the UI shows you being able to select 2 at once, there just isn't a good way of selecting two right now
When I first discovered your channel, that eye kind of creeped me out... but now you've become my favorite Minecraft youtuber! ^^ Great video! Really helpful!
Beacons are very nice, but one thing I find somehow disappointing is that, by the time you can get a beacon, you probably dont need its regeneration or resistance effect. (hassle is always welcome, tho)
Yeah I don't get it at all, he only really showed one possibly helpful use of the beacon (not blaming him, it's Mojang). Before this video I assumed the primary purpose of the beacon was at least as a beacon rendering at "infinite" distance to help find your way home etc. The fact that it doesn't even do what the name says is bizarre. And as you point out the possible bonuses are really pointless by the time you can build it.
fr we need a beacon revamp, that way it makes grinding for ores more useful. the ranges for size should start from a 48 block radius and add one chunk per level (lvl 2 - 64 / lvl 3 - 80 / lvl 4 - 96) and the material of the block should also increase the range like: emerald 1x / iron 1.5x / gold 2x / netherite 3x (yes, emerald first because they're easier to get, iron is easy too but iron farms aren't exactly a "game mechanic", emerald and gold are more "legit"); for example, a lvl 4 iron beacon would have a range of 144 blocks, gold would be 192 and netherite 288. lvl 4 netherite beacons also should unlock the perk of having all effects at the same time on lvl III. all beacons should have unlimited range up and down. gold beacons should unlock fire resistance (to represent the nether) and netherite beacons should unlock blast resistance. the item you feed the beacon should be locked to the type of beacon you have, and for obvious reasons mixed beacons are no longer possible. and the beacon beam range should be infinite because what's the point in having a bright beam shooting up in the sky if you can't see it from virtually anywhere in the world? considering how hard it is to drop wither skulls, kill the wither (legitimately) and specially to grind netherite I guess netherite beacons need a good reason to exist and my idea is pretty fair. people would be grinding for the wither much sooner and grinding ores much more, that would make the game better and more dynamic and give beacons the actual usefulness they deserve instead of being this lackluster they are. my idea isn't perfect but it's better than the current state of beacons, what do you think?
Not only that, their range is so limited that it basically reduces it to a flex/decoration structure at best. Even for the largest beacon its range is very disappointing. You'd pretty much have to either try to build it under your base, which sucks because you want to be able to see the thing you spent so long grinding for, or you'd have to take the entire thing with you every time you go out to do something around the area of your base.
I tried once building a Lumpy Space section of the End on my server, and it worked great but some of the new blocks like Amethyst and concrete would've made it look a lot better. The Beacons came in clutch, throughout most of the area was a continuous Jump Boost II effect and the main drink of the landscape was Potions of Slow Falling. You could genuinely pretend you were in space, jumping slowly in mid air towards another Lumpy cloud, never taking any fall damage. I used the area for Adventure Time references, but also for selling Slow Falling Potions, it's ingredients, a few more potions, Chaurus Fruit, End Blocks and Elytras! I wouldn't have been able to do half the things I did with the build without Beacons, praise be the Beacon!
On bedrock the beam only renders about 64 blocks in vertical and horizontal directions but the the affect still works despite not seeing the beam. The range is messed up on bedrock as well, the corners tend not to work up to a 14*14 to little as 3*3 and it’s a known but that they don’t plan on fixing.
Only recently found you, but already fell in love with your content! Very informative and useful. And as the cherry on top, your voice is very calming!
I think the range on the beacons should be 100x blocks away per block you have on the beacon. Knowing how long it takes to even get a single beacon takes forever and your already in the end game of minecraft and should obviously have pretty much everything in the game. So the beacons at this point are worthless since why would you need to mine more for more diamonds or harvest more for emeralds other then to flex. Good video though ty for showing what the powers do

Pretty much. You could have that beacon on one corner of the world and yourself in the opposite corner, and you could still see the beam. It's sad that the beacon kind of lost that ability in the other versions.

Talking about insta mining tips there is a weird bug about mining at maximum distance in bedrock. You can mine faster every block (I'm not sure if it is instamining) if you start to mine at the maximum distance to mine a block. And you can clear it just by walking and mining (as if you were sweeping the blocks) even if your tool is not enchanted and can even work if you are running. This works with all blocks I think (not all being instamined but kind of a buff to mine) but I haven't tried them all.
I didn't know that you can get the effect of the beacon if a player is under it but just in the area defined by the power it has. Very cool. I am sad that you can't get an additional effect if you build a netherite beacon because if requires a lot of materials and a lot of time to gather all the materials. A fire resistance effect would be cool since this ore can be find in the Nether. We need to instamine every block as in Bedrock one day 🤣. Thank you so much for all these useful information regarding the beacon Eyecraft.
Yeah I really don't see how the reward for going through all the grind to make a wither, then fight the wither, then have enough materials to build a beacon, it just doesn't seem worth any of the status effects you get access to. I'm at a point in my current survival world rn where I don't think I need any of the traversal effects in my base, its also completely walled off and lit so I'm not really seeing the benefit of regen or strength cause I'm rarely fighting mobs inside, maybe it could help rates in mob farms but its not going to have any bearing on spawn rates, maybe the only one potentially worth it is to set up a haste one underneath your mine and be able to strip mine at a crackhead rate, but I also don't think I'm ever going to find the motivation to go through collecting all the stuff to fight the wither in the first place. The abilities need to be more powerful, there needs to be more to choose from, and the ranges need to be better to justify it.
on one hand I agree that more potion effects coming to beacons would be a welcome buff to beacons, as if you aren't doing large scale projects that require haste for collection/demolition it isn't necessary, but on the other hand, getting the necessary blocks for the base of a beacon is not difficult either. iron golem farms are so pisseasy to make and forget about that the only thing you really need to worry about is wither skull drop chances, with even the wither fight being as hard as you want it to be, either with bedrock jails or kiting it through a strip mine with a bow. if you stretch the game to its limits the QOL provided is worth it tho, especially on multiplayer servers.
I already have a Shulker Box dedicated to emeralds (condensed into blocks) for trading, so setting aside just one slot for a beacon actually makes a lot of sense for a portable haste buff.
14:50 Eyecraftmc: So I usually use emeralds as they're a bit less useful to me than iron. Also Eyecraftmc: **proceeds to build a tier-4 beacon using iron blocks**
Kinda wish the size of the pyramid and what material the blocks were would affect the beacon effects. Like imagine going through the effort to make a like, 33x33 pyramid out of pure diamond blocks and you get a like, 200-block radius with Speed20. Could be the larger the pyramid, the wider the effect radius, and the rarer the material, the stronger the effect. Could also have no cap, so if someone wanted to invest the time to make a 45x45 pyramid out of Netherite Blocks to get an absurd effect multiplier in a massive range, they could.
Does the beacon have to include block inside of it? Because my friends and I built a beacon just using the outer blocks, which means it required us about 1 and half stack of blocks, and it gave us the same effects!!
Is there any difference putting in an iron ingot or lets say diamond in the beacon to power it? I dont see the point of putting in netherrite if Iron will do the job.
Hi eyecraft i don’t have a favourite beacon power but i would have all 6 powers and put a tier 4 iron beacon 50 blocks away, and the final information i would have 10,000 beacons and i know a stacking iron farm could get me to 14,760,000 iron ingots.
A question do I only have to give it an ingot the first time unless I move it? Like if I make a beacon give it haste and never touch it again will it just forever give me haste or does it eventually need another ingot?

I've seen someone use like some kind of piston Redstone machinery to change the colors periodically of the beacon. You should definitely tell us how to do that because I don't even know how to do that. I just know that the Pistons would every so often push a different glass into the path of the beacon
Wish they'd make copper blocks work with beacons, because it takes up so much room in my chests and frankly I'm not talented enough to build with it. As always, we appreciate the content.

the reason it can go through the portal frame is because it is not a solid block. It can go through any non whole block like slabs, stairs, leaves, and that kind of stuff. The portal frame is a bit shorter than a normal block
Bedrock Edition's beacon beams need fixing. They stop rendering at 64 blocks away, which is too close to the beacon. I want to see my beacon beams from afar. For those concerned with performance, Bedrock has better performance overall compared to Java. Therefore, Bedrock's beacon beam rendering can be in parity with Java without any performance issues. I'm hoping this parity change arrives with the release of 1.20.

A question do I only have to give it an ingot the first time unless I move it? Like if I make a beacon give it haste and never touch it again will it just forever give me haste or does it eventually need another ingot?
It never needs a new ingot unless you move the beacon or you want to change its effect
Is this Java or bedrock?
Just what I needed! Thank you EyeCraft! 🤗 I'm almost thinking you might be psychic. 🤔😲 You always make the content that I need at the moment I truly need it. 😊 Again, thank you.
Npc
I keep a beacon kit and a conduit kit in a shulker in my ender chest. It comes in handy all the time if you are spending alot of time in a world.
Eyecraftmc: netherite or diamond would be a very bad idea
Also eyecraftmc: proceeds to use netherite ingots to power a beacon
this tutorials always are the best, ive saw so mani wikis and alwais in your channel is something that the wikis does not say thx you so much your content is the best
I've seen someone use like some kind of piston Redstone machinery to change the colors periodically of the beacon. You should definitely tell us how to do that because I don't even know how to do that. I just know that the Pistons would every so often push a different glass into the path of the beacon
If i put more layers of blocks would the range increase?
Wish they'd make copper blocks work with beacons, because it takes up so much room in my chests and frankly I'm not talented enough to build with it. As always, we appreciate the content.
This video couldn't have come at a more perfect time! Thanks! ❤
Best kind of trophy things to do in my opinion, really proud when you get it in survival
Do the beacons have to be filled in completely? Or only the blocks you can see?
Filled in completely, so its definitely a very expensive structure
@@Eyecraftmc Yes haha. Thanks for your reply ;)
i think mojang should add a lava beacon just like the conduit(water beacon) it would give you fire resistence and lava vision
i love how u put alot of time into this video💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Can you build one as big as you want or is there a limit?
does a full netherite beacon actually do anything different than a full iron beacon?
Jump boost 2 is my fav, it helps A LOT with building
Thank you! I used to be a beacon guy, but I stopped. This helps!
Can I build mega beacon in nether. Will it work in every dimension and every part of a generated world?
My knowledge in beacons is like my knowledge in maths, none, so this video really helped me out, thanks again!
Beacons can also go through slime blocks and certain trap doors which is cool
Do beacons boost your iron and snow golems?
i was using Deepslate tiles for and the beacon and not working made it's for iron and it's work dose any one why that's l. and beacon don't like deepslate tiles let me know why that??
Got my sub thank you for the knowledge old school player since before beds. And I haven't played in 2014 and just got back into the game ad there's a lot I'm needing to learn lol
Hope they will add instant mine logs and cobblestone in java as well. Parity changes shouldn't be only for bedrock
I did not know about the 2 primary powers thing that’s crazy
For survival players this seems like aloot of work for not alot of benifit tbh. Hoped the wither would drop like a cool weapon or something.
I'm still kinda lost what is the mega beacon? And what's the difference between the ingots you put in
Always love this guy's videos ❤️
Thanks!
the reason it can go through the portal frame is because it is not a solid block. It can go through any non whole block like slabs, stairs, leaves, and that kind of stuff. The portal frame is a bit shorter than a normal block
wait, so you, dont need to put painted glass block on top of the beacon to change rays color?
Thanks for the bedrock info I really enjoy your videos and live streams keep up the fantastic work! You're awesome 😎
Thanks for the guide.
the energy of having a full gold beacon right beside a simple cube hut all surrounded by unlit darkness XD
Man, thanks bro!
Is it 20 or 30 blocks in each directions or in total
Bedrock Edition's beacon beams need fixing. They stop rendering at 64 blocks away, which is too close to the beacon. I want to see my beacon beams from afar. For those concerned with performance, Bedrock has better performance overall compared to Java. Therefore, Bedrock's beacon beam rendering can be in parity with Java without any performance issues. I'm hoping this parity change arrives with the release of 1.20.
5:46 also through a notch apple
This guy made my day
What a really good base
10 years of playing this game and I’m still using videos guides
