I do very much appreciate the straight to the point video
This feels like a shadow of the colossus refrence. The design is very similar to Wanderer's Sword, and the light skill is very similar to how it functions in gameplay, plus the whole dark and light theme overlapping. That's really cool if so.
that was my first thought when i got it too, could be a happy accident but if it really is a reference that's really freaking cool
Miyazaki is a huge fan of that series of games (Ico, SotC, TLG)
So actually, you can get these in any order, the sheathed sword will appear at either dark altar, making said altar inert, and can then be changed at the other dark altar.

Somehow got the sword of light with no guide, just got it exploring around i guess
Reading item descriptions and being incredibly thorough in exploring is usually the big way, data mining or hints from devs too

So I noticed the chest in the middle of unte ruins is from dark souls
Yeah i picked up the sword in the Sword of Light section then got the light attribute onto it in the Darkness altar so i think it is the order of pickup changes what altar does what

I think you can just re visit fog cavern to activate sword, unsure if it works to swap it back and forth though.

Im pretty sure i got a stone sword in a different area, if thats the case you can use both with the two different styles.
If you already have the first stone sword, which I somehow did, you can change it into the sword of darkness at the same altar that you would initially find the sword in the ruins shown in the video
Yes the order of the altars doesn't matter. First one will have stone, second is dark then third is light
@@ConCon my order was different. I got stone, light and then I found dark following your video in the ruin. I already had sword of light. I was thinking I get a second without a 2nd playthrough but either way this was helpful.

i already completed the fog rift catacombs before i got the stone sheathed sword. i didnt know what this altar was for. i just went back with the sword and the altar is eead. nothing here. so now what do i do? So if i give my sword of light to my buddy can i then take a second stone sheathed sword and get the sword of darkness?

I’m mad that I started NG+ and didn’t find all the cool weapons. I found the Stone sword and thought it was a King Arthur reference. Little did I know that the sword of light is a literal reference to Shadow of the Colossus’s sword… light beams and all.
Looks like u can do this in any order I got the sword from the second alter and turned it into darkness at the First alter

The Alters seem to change depending on which you get the sword from. I got the sword from the altar at Unte, so coming to the catacombs where he got the sword, it was a darkness one for me. So my guess, is one of the other altars will be your light one, either the one in the ruin, or the the one in the catacombs.

This was the longest way you could have done it. Just go to the sword of light altar, the stone sheath sword will be there and you can take it to the Fire Giant Ruins to make it a sword of light and vice versa
Is it possible to dual wield them since you can get 1 per playthrough
So you can get both swords then since theres 2 stone sheathed swords?
So if you upgrade the sword, then swap it to another element (light to dark, vice versa) will it retain its upgrades?
For some reason, my sword turned into sword of light at the dark one you did. Then I went to the sword of light one and it wouldn’t let me change the sword. Am I stuck with sword of light?
What if someone starts a new game and in the dlc gets another stone sheathed sword ...then he can have both swords of light and darkness??

The sword of stone spawns in two diffrent locations the alter of light and the one in the dungeon it depends on wich one you run into first

I got it at the first area without a fire pot. You can jump into the area with torrent.
Hello, it's very weird, I got the stone sword where you revive the fire golem, and when I went to the fog dungeon to get a second one, it wasnt there and it upgraded my sword to dark immediately.
Why and is there another way to get the second ?
And If you pick it up in the one that was a darkness for you it makes the one in the dungeon into the darkness alter. The game rewards exploring they said
For you He-Man/ Skeletor builds.
Can you get 1 dark and 1 light? Dual use em?

I didn't need to awaken the furnace giant. I just jumped over the wall on the east side of the ruins.
GUYS OF YOU HAPPEN TO COME UPON THE SWORD first in Rhua like I did , you can then go to fog rift catacomb , apparently the order doesn’t matter

@@rafmoraes33 I know that there are three shrines on the map now, the one where you pick up the sword turns off until the end of the game, but there are two remaining, one gives the sword of light and the other gives the sword of darkness, so check the other two

You have to find a painting and go to the location, the painting is called “Domain of Dragons”

Depending on the order you visit the altars, you get a different one. Try one of the other altars and it should let you change to darkness
So I already changed my stone sheathed sword to the sword of light but when I examine the altar in the catacombs it says I can change the sword of light into the sword of darkness.

that rot area is easily the worst part of the entire game. it’s literally impossible to run through without getting knocked off torrent by those pink bug things
That area is end game. U should be able to one shot those things with ease. There is no rot on the sides you can walk on that area.
