Great review Dirk, seems to drive pretty well. Handled everything you threw at it and it has some serious steering especially when it turns, adequate torque during steering (flip). For the price you got yourself a good bargain. You are going to make this vehicle perform a lot better with the upgrades you have plan for it. Take care and stay safe my friend.💯💯💯💯👍
Thank's a lot Al. And you had seen everything right. I have the feeling the high gears mand for children having running fun instead of trailing. The angle of the front wheels reaches 45°, which is great for crawling. The next week's upgrade time and then it has to proof it's abilities on a crawler's ground.
Nice thorough job in your review Dirk! These perform awesome out of the box. They are a bit top heavy, but with this styled body it is to be expected. I did notice that there is very little to no drag break in hi gear, but in low gear it’s there. It’s pretty hard to beat for the money. I really appreciate the shout out my friend that was very kind of you. Your channel sticker looks great on this color truck! Perfecto! Have a wonderful weekend. My friend!👊🏼💯😎🌟
Thanks a lot Robby for getting me on the trip and liking my video. The drag brake is easy to install. Just remove the jumper on the ESC, this should help. On my first upgrade video I'll mentioning this and just before I rearranged my upgrade plans. Have a great weekend my friend.
@@RCBirds yes I had already moved my jumper when I set it up. Drag Brake in high gear is not the best . Could just be my unit. Does your drag work well in hi gear?
A really nice unboxing video and a very interesting crawler. I also really liked the way you did the micro on the crawler when removing the foil. So we could be part of this moment.
Ahhhh, this made my day. Someone who noticed it🤗🤗🤗. As a thank you, you get the German version of this video in less than one hour. Have a great weekend Stephan.
Hi Dirk, a great addition to your fleet of RC’s. I’m sure the grandchildren are going to love playing with this RC and fairly certain the plastics having some flexibility will help absorb some inevitable knocks 😊😊😊hope they enjoy 😊best wishes 😊😊
Thanks a lot John this car's an astinishing suprice. It might be not perfect, like some other cars looking the same, but for crawling or ripping dirt tracks it's really cool right out of the box. I'll show more the next weeks.
Thank you Jeremy. For the first look it's okay and the high gear's building uo amazing speed. I'm pretty sure out in the woods it'll great. The video'll come soon, just some little upgrades to be done😉
Redcat we just do not get at all in the UK, they not seem interested in selling Europe. Now the Beluga 🙂looks really good and the radio not see one like that before 🙂Good it has an Hobbywing style ESC and clipless body mounts under the wheel arch. Downside with those if you have driven through something and you get a handful 🙂taking the body off. But for the price you cannot knock it.
Hmmm, UK is interesting. I once ordered the peacock from JEKCA. Hong Kong didn't get any allowence for my credit card, the France shop didn't want to deliver to Germany, but UK worked. Maybe I try this way. Nice you like the Beluga. I get used to dirty hands outside, even bodyclips ontop won't protect you from this (and this is why I don't like the TD4 and it's battery holder).😁😁😁 So far and for what I have seen, I start to love this crawler. More'll come in the next weeks.
Thanks a lot Lou, and it has lights🤩. Not so great as comparables on a comparable crawler, but high beams're included. Great you like the colour, than you'll probably like, what I had made out of it. Things'll come the next weeks.
WOW Dirk that's a Awesome Deal for a Budget Friendly (TRX 4) Model... The only thing I had to do to My 21 Bronco was Servo, Weighted Beadlock Wheel's and Tire's... This is a Great deal with the light kit already in ($99.99 add-on for my Traxxas kit) ✌🤠👍 Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy Brother 🎉 RCF4L and Have a FUNTASTIC Weekend 🏁🏆🏁
Thank you Larry. The lights were one of the reasons for buying this car. They're not so perfect as a Pro-Scale set, but just to have high beams hels a lot. In my budget upgrade plan, there're rock lights and roof lights included. Not switchable, but most of the time you need them either.😉
Nice choice. The Beluga looks awesome. Living in the US and on the west coast there are plenty of choices for products with free delivery. ProLine, Integy, RPM RC, RedCat, ProTek RC and others like Losi are all within driving distance of where I live so orders arrive fast. If I order stuff from China or New York it takes several weeks to arrive but sometimes you have no choice.
Thanks a lot for watching and your kind comment my friend. I know this issue and most annoying is the time the package is parked at customs. For four weeks or more nothing happens on the tracking display. In this case, I don't know the legal reasons, but coming over Belgium eleminates customs. The other thing is you get used to weeks of delivery times, because amazon isn't the fastes anymore.
Thanks Steve, I'll check my TRX4 later. But I have an easy solution in mind which costs almost nothing. Luckily I know the thickness of the gap. More in a few weeks.
Jupp, it lacks on some possibilites, like wifi, telelemetry, switchable diffs. But just for crawling you don't need these functions. And this is what you get, a durable and great looking crawler. Thanks for watching Peter.
I know I said, I let it stand alone as an own brand. But on the end of this series, I do a comparison to a TRX4. But for now and as a pure crawler, you're completely right Antonio.
Thank you so much. The look's everything on it. Less functions and no possibility for adding wifi. But I heared it has cruise control, have to check that out, soon😉
Looks pretty impressive Dirk! I like how the mirrors fold too! I thought I had already watched and commented on this video but I think I must have looked at the german version? I may have confused myself lol - Anyway, great find. I think this looks awesome and seems very capable.
Nice Durk I've never heard of those before, I understand your frustration over availability Australia is just as bad went through exactly what your talking about I looked at the ascent it starts to get pricey started at $489 for us plus postage then import tax we do get redcat in Australia I'll just have to waite and see if the ascent makes the line up, I looked at cross rc aswell just as bad if it's hard to get the model parts will be near impossible nice vid Durk 👊
Right to my heart Mark. Why buy a budged car, when the additional costs bring up the price to a classical crawler? This's where my father was right ("I'm not angry about my money"). Fingers crossed someday we get our Ascents. For now I have a nice little crawler with a great performance and functions reduced to the really nessacarry things. I mean how often do you unlock the diffs when you're crawling and is an app or telemetry really a must-have?
Nice walk though of the truck and the features. It seems like a really decent truck and look forward to seeing more. I am kind of surprised it is still available as it is seems to be very, very similar to another brand that is usually quick to sue the pants off of other companies! LOL!
Thanks for watching Addam. And I heard about that, too. So to keep me safe I only call it Wilderness Beluga. But either they must have done something right, that this shouldn't happen. Or maybe they're a daughter company for getting into the budget segment without mentioning the mother behind it. Or maybe it's even for them hard to sue a Chinese company. In result I've a nice 1 by 10 crawler, RTR with lights and at a lower price most of my Tamiya projects reach. At the end of this series, I'm planning to do a comparison to my TRX4😉
Hi there Mattias. I didn't found a shop here, but I also never had issues with Banggood. And this is my third car from them. This took 3 weeks to arrive here. No custum taxes or further payments. My brother says it's because they ship over Belgium.
I don't understand why these companies don't sell in Europe its just seems like a bad business choice not to be available in all markets great replacement brand though these look really good
Trhue Brent. And it isn't only Red Cat. Similar problems I get for the updates for a Clod. I always wanted to build a performance one, but I would loose money and time. Not that I don't want to import by myself. It took three month for a MIP ball diff for my Black Foot. But I don't like to fill out forms to get my money back, because the taxes were calculated wrong. Gimme the price for the car and the shipping, the rest's up to me (and way less money). But before I'll get further, yeah, I have a nice and cool crawler. Planned upgrades kepp it under 600 (two versions) or a cobined build for under 700. Thanks for watching my friend
Good question. I heard the (aftermarket) shafts for the TRX4 should work. On Banggood you only get the spare parts in plastic. I'm planning on another upgrade video for this car. Especial for the axles and dirvetrains. But it's planned for the next months on my shedule, so I still hadn't started with the researxh yet. Sorry
@@MostlyRCSlovakia just went into my garage. From the length the TRX's should fit. Big problem is the construction of the shaft cover at the axle side. I think they're clipped on. But I'm not so sure. The manual isn't detailed on it. No matter if I change the drive shafts, axles or both, I had to order the spare drive shafts fo an emergency recovery. Or to see how it all comes together. For now I don't want to force the disassambling or brake any parts. I need the car for a crawl the next days and can't wait for spare parts to arrive in four weeks. BTW my TRX4 still has plastic drive shafts. The construction's very durable (on both cars).
Oh good to know. I just have the experience from the small crawlers, that the plastic drive shafts are the first things to snap. Anyway, thanks for checking. Appreciated.
@@MostlyRCSlovakia right observerved. Somehow the relation between length and thickness of the shafts might be the main reason. The other thing is on a 1/10 you can do better and more different constructions on a part than at the minis, resisting force and torque from the gears. The other thing is, you've a better control or feeling for steering the car. You can react faster on a 1/10 than on a 16, 18 or 24 before damaging anything. It might still happen. My granddaughter kille a shaft on my CR-01. But just because of giving throttle input while the car's stuck. My Beluga ran four hours on a trailing tour with crawling parts and everything's fine. No markings or scars on the coupling piece in the shafts.
