Pavement Parking - Blind Man and His Guide Dog

- Obstructive Pavement Parking is unfortunately the norm these days, but it has to stop.
I am registered blind, and have a fabulous Guide Dog named Spencer, who give me incredible freedom and independence. However, inconsiderate drivers put both myself and my guide dog at risk every single day.
This doesn't just affect visually impaired people, or disabled people - but rather ALL pedestrians
Great job Terry - drawing attention to an important topic, you will no doubt be helping a lot of people.

Spot on Terry. Nailed. I remember my first Rehab white cane lesson 25 years ago. Vehicles parked on the pavement - "Whack away Ed, it's a lot more for a respray than a cane." While I don't go that far I do treat a car like any other obstacle and tap my cane around it. People would not believe some of the incidents. I do think the "me, myself and I" culture carries a lot of the blame. Best Wishes mate. McIntyre
thanks so much for your comment, and time. Ha, I also heard a fair few times whack away..but I just couldn't do that - but like you, always tapped away so I could navigate around it as best I could. Great Video Terry. we have similar issues here . including people who park in their drive way but block the sidewalks as well . Hope everything is good besides rubbish drivers not following the rules .

I live in the USA and I have this issue in most areas people who drive do not pay attention to pedestrians period I had an incident with a UPS driver and my guide saves my life and wouldn’t let me back into the road because she saw the truck we depend on our dogs but the consideration of others too and they often don’t think about us nice interview hope people around the world can take note how hard it is for us
its so difficult isn't it. And it feels like a constant battle - hopefully, one day these inconsiderate drivers will take note. Hope all is good with you
@@LowVisionUKTerrysView Agreed I hope you are doing well and I know its not just us its other people with mobility issues that have trouble getting around that I hope no matter what country we are in we can band together and try to get drivers of all nations to pay attention to other people besides themselves. I worry about us all.
Also on the day the bin collection is made.he pavements are cluttered with higgledy piggedy wheels bins, obstacles with sight impaired people and their guide dogs
Drivers don't think of others when parking on pavements. More awareness needs to be raised
