Mate, I’ve had a stressy day and I was feeling a bit ‘Meh!’ But along comes you with a new video and you’ve made me laugh and cheered me up no end. There’s no better watch channel than yours. Never change, you’re a breath of fresh air. Take it easy.🍻
Thank you so much for this Simon! This channels always here for you matey! We need taking away from life even if it’s just 10 minutes!!!!! Hope the rest of the week goes less stressy!!!!
When you drop a video, it brings a smile to my face! I’m not a luxury watch kind of guy, even though I do have a couple… I think they’re just to remind me, I’m not a luxury watch kind of guy… But this is still an awesome watch!
You NEED to get the Bronze BB58 in person on the wrist. Also don't worry about the patina if you don't like it it's so easy to remove it there are simple methods.
You know I'm a Tudor (and particularly BB58) nut. Tried this in my AD and fell for he variance of that taupe in natural light. Moves from grey to green and all points in between. Hard to show on camera. Total stunner. Agree rhat it needs a grey or taupe strap
I have had very similar thoughts to the 925 but where I netted out was that the tooliest and most versatile option to add to my 58 is the PELAGOS 39! Bought mine a couple months ago and absolutely love it. It’s so understated but so good in so many ways.
Thanks Russ, an excellent way to start the day; an MWC review and a cup of coffee. I will get round to getting a 58 but the red triangle is a big draw for me.
Your video got me hunting down one on the second hand market. Though it has already tarnished, using the flat side of a soft eraser I was able to get back the shiny look with relative ease. Great video as always!
that's the BB58 I got! was debating between the blue one on bracelet and this silver one on nato but the blue one was sold out while I was thinking and I am glad to have the silver one on nato. The color is a bit more versatile and the silver make it a bit more interesting
I bought one back in October. It's exactly as you said, looks crap in the pictures but I went to the AD and it really pulled me in. Mine is on the taupe nato, which looks lovely and in my opinion is better than the leather. Apparently it's not supposed to but I quite like the way mine is tarnishing, going a little bit yellow in places even though it's only worn one day every two weeks. Great piece to have in the collection!
Hey Russ, I tried to get the 925 when it first came out but they were quite scarce so like you I got the OG & also the blue 58 as I couldn't decided which I preferred. Seeing this again has got me thinking that I also need a 3rd 58. Thanks!🙈
I've been eyeing the 925 since it came out. It's out of my price range at the moment, but I think it might be my first watch above $1k. I like the idea that it'll tarnish as well.
I love your videos and your tone of voice so much. Great video. I only do not agree with you about the strap here, I think it is perfect fit for it. Definitely love the choice of doing a silver watch... Thank you again for your contents!
I’ve been stuck between this and the Pelagos 39 for awhile now. I may go second hand for the 925, but it is hands down my favorite BB58. And the single pass strap they offer with it is awesome. They are hand made on a loom. Tudor made a video on it that’s pretty interesting.
I like how adventurous Tudor are with new concepts, materials, etc. I don't recall seeing any other modern wrist watches in silver (excluding pocket watches). Is this the first one?
I tried one on and found it a bit small for me but like it very much. I do wish it had a silver bracelet with T-Fit clasp. And in my collection silver tarnishes to black, while bronze tends to green...
MWC: Have you taken a look at the Certina Action Diver DS Titanium? It's considerably cheaper than this Tudor and has a lot of high specs but also achieves a tool watch look with titanium case and a unique dial color. Would love to see you compare the two, if possible. Thanks for another awesome watch review!
Ha! If your wife saw an Aston Martin in steel grey, would she call it boring? I bought the BB silver for my 75th birthday and love it. It looks great on a rubber or a grey/brown leather strap. I've even tried it on a titanium bracelet and it's darker color looks pretty good with the brushed silver.
Potentially yes 😊 I’d need to see the car in the flesh! I’ve also see his own BB so to me it looks like it forgot to see the colour factory 😂 no offence!
I have the bb heritage 41mm, so far I'm satisfied, as for the BB 58 I didn't feel it , I got breitling superocean 42 BTW don't think you too many already, however my next watch after picking up the omega aqua terra, will definitely be an IWC pilot chronograph 41mm
You should look into a Vanguard rubber strap. It has curved ends and looks perfect on the BB58. I have the Blue dial on the blue strap. I think the 925 on a black Vanguard would look perfect.
Now you know why I love my “Silver Bay”. The taupe works well with the grey I wear in Autumn/Fall. The metal mix is not silver/aluminium ( the aluminium I believe is the bezel insert), the mix is actually silver/zinc/palladium/Indium ; hence it doesn’t tarnish like a traditional silver/copper mix used in the past.
I thought the same as you about the "Taupe" color until I walked into a boutique last year and was smitten. I tired on leather and the Nato, the Nato was perfect and It came home with me! I absolutely LOVE it! It has NOT tarnished one bit and still looks amazing! Add it to your collection and you'll not regret it one bit!!
You should have Mrs Mad Watch Collector on the the show. Her opinions would probably be insanely funny on video 😂. I do like the strap. I think that it works very well.
Nice review. I have the Bronze and I know someone who's thinking about getting the Silver. I recently bought the P01, and I'd love to see your thoughts on it if you ever get one on the channel.
I just came to the realization that u havent posted any videos on the BB Pro. Looks to me like its right up your alley what with its tool-ish looks. Hope u’d get a chance to try one soon!
It's always a shame when I look at the case back and see that completely unfinished movement against a silver case. I noticed this in person when it came out at first, but now I realize I would have preferred a closed case back. Still, it's one of my favorite colors for the "BB58" line.
I love my 925 but…. 925 is lighter than SS, not heavier as you say - also, it’s less hyper allergenic than SS. Oh, the ceramic also has a display back 😊
I'm surprised forstner/unclestraps or one of them aftermarket bracelet manufacturers haven't come up with a 925silver aftermarket bracelet for this watch. I bet it would sell, even if it was 300-450usd.
Taupe was a very common colour for American cars in the 50s Russ. Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet to name a few used the colour :) Probably why Tudor went with the colour on a 50s inspired diver
Hey you! Great video. "Taupe" is a french Word. It means "mole", this small animal which makes holes in the earth... Like your wife said, for me the 58 is a little bit boring. Thats why i choose the tudor royal DD in "saumon" color and the 41 burgundy with jubilé band... So much funnier. 😂😅
Once again agree with your wife believe it or not. Grey watches are like a grey day. So dull and drab. Maybe you should have kept your bright blue squale!!! I wanted it :-(
Not really my cup of tea , but a nice watch all the same , I like the hour hand with the diamond shape so it easy to see (good for us old geezers with worn out peepers) , seeing the movement on back is also pretty cool.
Silver does NEVER tarnish green. Copper in cheap fake silver plated jewelry is subject to oxidization. Also, silver is plenty durable, harder than gold, softer than steel.
Feels slightly like an advertisement for this watch. It didn't sell well compared to the other BB58 variations. The wife's opinion seems spot on to me.
I have had that watch on wrist with the leather strap and it is the only Tudor watch that I really love and plan to own. I wish more watches were made of that same .925/Al.
It's lovely in the metal. I was tempted one time in the AD, but slightly put off by some tarnishing on the case back before it's even out the AD. Also not sure why they'd show off the movement? BQ looks good will give a look 👍
I believe they show the movement off because a sapphire case back is good for marketing. If they would’ve made it solid silver alloy it would be more likely to stain the wrist. And if they made it steel it would cheapen the perceived value.
Mate, I’ve had a stressy day and I was feeling a bit ‘Meh!’ But along comes you with a new video and you’ve made me laugh and cheered me up no end. There’s no better watch channel than yours. Never change, you’re a breath of fresh air. Take it easy.🍻
Yeah bang on, it's more than just watches on this channel.
MWC brings the vibes. I love those vibes.
Amen!
Russ is a legend, similar experience here 🎉
Thank you so much for this Simon! This channels always here for you matey! We need taking away from life even if it’s just 10 minutes!!!!! Hope the rest of the week goes less stressy!!!!

I've just bought the Tudor FXD, and I absolutely LOVE IT!!
You NEED to get the Bronze BB58 in person on the wrist. Also don't worry about the patina if you don't like it it's so easy to remove it there are simple methods.

This is my favorite 58. The brushed case and display caseback make it gorgeous.
I have had very similar thoughts to the 925 but where I netted out was that the tooliest and most versatile option to add to my 58 is the PELAGOS 39! Bought mine a couple months ago and absolutely love it. It’s so understated but so good in so many ways.

I love this video just for hearing you say, Almuminium. Sounds so much better than how we say it from across the pond 😂
Al you min ee um
I have a 928 on a suede Molequin strap. It is great looking. I love the watch. One of my favorites. Great video!
that's the BB58 I got! was debating between the blue one on bracelet and this silver one on nato but the blue one was sold out while I was thinking and I am glad to have the silver one on nato. The color is a bit more versatile and the silver make it a bit more interesting

I've actually always liked this colour since I saw it. Never seen a review on it on here before. Nice one fella
Class time pieces! I've got the RANGER brilliant watches.
Love your channel; amusing, objective, honest and passionate content about a wonderfully wide selection of watches. Thank you buddy. 😊
I've been eyeing the 925 since it came out. It's out of my price range at the moment, but I think it might be my first watch above $1k. I like the idea that it'll tarnish as well.

Been eyeing this on the secondary market - pretty sure I’ll end up owning this at some point in time
Your wife is so correct, but I am only wearing a vostok amphibia today, great videos as usual.
I’ve been stuck between this and the Pelagos 39 for awhile now. I may go second hand for the 925, but it is hands down my favorite BB58. And the single pass strap they offer with it is awesome. They are hand made on a loom. Tudor made a video on it that’s pretty interesting.

I just discovered this channel and this was a great video. I did not realize Paul Pluta (Archie Luxury) had a son that loves watches too 😂
Cheers!
Nice to have you aboard my friend!!
I’ve got this watch and the blue 58. Both wonderful and easily measure up to my more expensive watches.
Nice watch Russ
I’m looking at the burgundy bezel Tudor atm
Have the olive green Harrods which is beautiful but maahooosive 🤨
MWC, love your channel. Where can I buy your songs?
Also my kids love yelling out “casi-OOOOOO” haha
MWC: Have you taken a look at the Certina Action Diver DS Titanium? Thanks again for the informative and lively video. The BB58 is officially on my must-have hit list.
I put mine on a fitted vanguard rubber strap - looks awesome and a great quality strap
Taupe is french for "Mole" the underground rodent...the gray supposedly matching the fur....
Wow bro stumble upon your channel and instantly sub after 10sec into the video. Great content lord!!
Ha! If your wife saw an Aston Martin in steel grey, would she call it boring?

Can’t wait for W&W trip with you Russell and the Tudor experience and new watches 🚀
Love Tudor👌🏻👌🏻 and love the 58‘s
I have the bb heritage 41mm, so far I'm satisfied, as for the BB 58 I didn't feel it , I got breitling superocean 42

Great video Russell. There are so many good Tudor’s I’m tempted to buy them all! 😊
dude the wife quotes was so well played. you make very, very good videos. interesting, and keeps the attention. bravo.
I thought the same as you about the "Taupe" color until I walked into a boutique last year and was smitten. I tired on leather and the Nato, the Nato was perfect and It came home with me! Nice watch. The wife is right about the color.
This watch is atop my hit list and I really didn’t need you to make me want it more… 🤣
Ive been considering a silver tudor i have a silver chrome hearts watch strap, it would look insane!
Nice review. I have the Bronze and I know someone who's thinking about getting the Silver.
I recently bought the P01, and I'd love to see your thoughts on it if you ever get one on the channel.
Perfect , just perfect .
lovely watch . 👍
I have been thinking of buying the silver black bay for a while good review 👍👍👍
I just came to the realization that u havent posted any videos on the BB Pro. Looks to me like its right up your alley what with its tool-ish looks. Hope u’d get a chance to try one soon!

Don’t tell her! Classic. 😂

But did you have a good time my friend?
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR always mate, always 😘
I'm surprised forstner/unclestraps or one of them aftermarket bracelet manufacturers haven't come up with a 925silver aftermarket bracelet for this watch. I bet it would sell, even if it was 300-450usd.
“Good shout” 😂 😂😂
Taupe was a very common colour for American cars in the 50s Russ. Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet to name a few used the colour :) Probably why Tudor went with the colour on a 50s inspired diver
Erika’s Original Marine National in the mirage color. Perfect strap on my 925
wish they did a fully brushed 58 like the silver one, but then again maybe i should just look at a pelagos
I’ve got a taupe coloured suit Russ. That watch would really enhance me… I mean it!🤪🤣
This is one of the few 58s that made me go “I want that.” The other being the red Smiley.
Wow that is pretty. Not the biggest fan of the normal 58 but this one is definitely a looker.
I think it’s got some platinum mixed with the silver which makes it shine more Russ 😮
The 925 is my favourite 58 too.
It’s not just your channel Russ, but these 2x 15 second non-skippable ads are rly getting me down these days 😢
I like the brown strap
This is the only Tudor I am actually interested in. Because of the material and the all brushed finishing.
I like that, I don't know why it would come with that particular strap though
Taupe means mole in French, and yes it's a shade of grey as well :)
Honestly, how did you know I was looking at the 925 you read my mind, sir
Once again agree with your wife believe it or not. Grey watches are like a grey day. So dull and drab. Maybe you should have kept your bright blue squale!!! I wanted it :-(
Can’t stop laughing from this moment on… 8:39 😂
Not really my cup of tea , but a nice watch all the same , I like the hour hand with the diamond shape so it easy to see (good for us old geezers with worn out peepers) , seeing the movement on back is also pretty cool.
Silver does NEVER tarnish green. Copper in cheap fake silver plated jewelry is subject to oxidization. Also, silver is plenty durable, harder than gold, softer than steel.
I really like your videos ❤❤
Thank you my friend!
I hope one day to find an independent dealer that will work with me like this.
Colour looks very much like my new '62 mas' reinterpretation 😊, while I'm on ,am I wrong in liking the bb58 'smiley ' ? , its on my list ,thanks m8
Feels slightly like an advertisement for this watch. It didn't sell well compared to the other BB58 variations.
The wife's opinion seems spot on to me.
Well I like 58’s my friend! I guess everything I do is an advert ?
I stand corrected. Hope you buy and enjoy it.
Listen to your wife, she is correct this time....great video 👍
I've heard of Taupe but have no idea what it is
Nice looking watch.
Original 925 leather strap looks cheap, I changed it to a grey crocodile strap❤
This silver one is begging to be my everyday watch! Too bad I don't have the $$$😥
I have had that watch on wrist with the leather strap and it is the only Tudor watch that I really love and plan to own. I wish more watches were made of that same .925/Al.
It would look great on an Everest rubber strap in grey.
100%
All good in the world when Russ uploads a vid 😊
I try Tim!!! Hope you’re well!
FYI: 'taupe' is the french word for 'mole'.
The colour came from there.
It's lovely in the metal. I was tempted one time in the AD, but slightly put off by some tarnishing on the case back before it's even out the AD. Also not sure why they'd show off the movement? BQ looks good will give a look 👍
Yeah weirdly seems like it tarnishes different with each piece! Wife has some silver cleaning compound that would take that tarnish off
I believe they show the movement off because a sapphire case back is good for marketing. If they would’ve made it solid silver alloy it would be more likely to stain the wrist. And if they made it steel it would cheapen the perceived value.
Sounds plausible, but they should have done a wee bit of decoration.@@WatchesCanBeFun
Would be nice to add to your collection, but for me I like the blue the best. Thanks for sharing it and have a great day! 🙏🏼
Taupe of the world Ma, taupe of the the world
Its just wonderful i like it!
whats better value? seiko turtle
TheTrifecta😂😂
This is the watch I wear for werewolf hunting, as it is made of silver 😂
You’re a decent person. 👍🏻
My 8 inch wrist craves a 45.5mm diameter at minimum with a 22mm lug width 😢
my house interior was painted tope before I bought it said the relator, only reason I know the word.
To be honest I do like the gray dial.
Mrs. MWC cannot be duped. :D
