I'm subscribed to dozens of youtube channels, many with millions of subscribers, but I honestly look forward to this channel posting the most! Cheers from Seattle.
Hey I’m from Seattle too! Go explore the mines off of highway 2 near Index :)
That was very interesting... You were the first ones to put eyes on that landscape hidden under the water in a very long time! I was amazed at how clear the water was. There are many flooded mines in the mountains of California, but the water is almost always muddy or, at best, murky.
Have you seen the videos of the BlueJay mine in Washington state? A group of elite cave divers called the "Frog Kick Diving Team" explored the flooded winze. Highly suggest searching for them if you haven't seen them. Love your vids BTW, might have never seen the inside of a Placer mine if not for you!
Yes, I have seen that. Diving in the flooded abandoned mines is next level! Thank you for the kind words... Yes, when I first started out mine exploring, I had no idea how unique our ancient river channels and the underground mines to tap them were. @@analogdriven
Fantastic seeing the horse winch 👍👍🙏
Glad you enjoyed it
What a great view.
It looks like the timber is once thrown in the shaft by visitors a long time ago when the wood is still there and not now rotten away .
Sorroly it is there for blocked.
Thank you for your effords to bring this Video to us
Take care have a good weekend
Yours Frank Galetzka
I love how respectful you are with the articfacts as well
So glad to see a live reaction with the ROV!!!! Loved it!
Thank you very much for this excellent video presentation, the ROV is a great machine, even though the level was closed off due to the timbers precluding the exploration of the level, even seeing the items as the machine descended was of interest in itself. It is always a delight to see the items left within the mine from the machinery and other items, to the personal items, such as the pipe.
Amen
The engineering so deep underground amazes me. Great work lost mines folk.
This is by far my fave RUclips channel , it’s incredible history and videos , thanks again guys , I have to come with you soon
Have a look in the instructions there should be a section on how to recalibrate the gyros this is normally done by pulling both sticks on the remote down then out while the rov is powered on
If not place on a flat perfectly level surface and switch on allow the esc to boot up (play its little tune) then switch off repeat a few times this should allow the gyros to reorganise themselves to what is horizontal and what is vertical
The rov operates the same as a flying drone and it has all the same components just sealed in a water tight container 😁👍
Well done!...listening to 4th of July fireworks here in Chicago and watching my favorite channel!!!
Probably out of your normal range of exploration, but there is a wonderful series of mines open and flooded depending on level in Minnesota/usa underneath an old Ford motor plant. It only dates to the middle 1900's but an extensive series of mines along the Mississippi river in St.Paul Minnesota used by the plant to both mine sand to make the windscreens, and also to store parts, cars, do other manufactory, and offload parts and cars into barges on the river directly from the mines. There are elevator shafts big enough for cars to be moved going between different levels, some open and some flooded now because they are below river level and the pumps haven't been running in decades.
Very interesting. Thanks!
Shame the shaft was blocked, but the kibble, horse whim, buckets and other artefacts were brilliant to see. Thanks for another great video!
Incredible footage !!!
Absolutely amazing guys. Each mine you visit always have some fascinating finds and artefacts.
Awesome thank you!
First time viewer, the algorithm brought me. The idea of going in a dark, wet cave gives me shivers so not the normal content I'd go for :) . Got to say a fantastic video and having the dialogue between the guy in orange and the camera operator is brilliant, asking questions we the audience want to ask and the responses shown a brilliant familiarity of the guy in orange with the stuff in the cave. Subscribed & liked, hoping for more of the same! :)
Ok. That was a huge plank. 1st, how did they get it to the shaft, then how did they feed it into the hole? Its a 40ft plank. Howd they stand it up in the mine? Great find guys. Thank you
> The long planks were part of the guide system to keep the lift from swinging. Short planks were spliced together with tapered joints.
Amazing footage!!
Looks like the whinze was originally boarded over and has collapsed. Wonderful artefacts and insight into the working day. Also looks from the harness it was a fair old pony made to work the windlass.
Jacques Cousteau would be proud of you guys.
Another great adventure, win some loose sum with the ROV but some cool finds.

What an amazing video. The sheer hard backbreaking graft it would take to remove such an amount of rock by hand is incredible. The horse chamber was amazing too. Brilliant work from you guys. Subbing. 👍
✨🙏✨that was really great ✨✨loved the enthusiasm in your voices..Al all your exhausting work is very appreciated ✨🙏✨
Coolbeens
Truly otherworldly and incredible. Thank you for sharing these videos.
guys i find your videos absolutely fascinating, your knowledge and explanation of what we are seeing is brilliant. may ask a favour from you guys? next time you are down a mine could you take some candles with you, set them up, and show us the kind of light the miners would have worked in, i would love to see what that would have looked like.
Keep on exploring, even a blocked underwater explore is still good to watch!
Definitely!
Ren from S. Calif. in Pomona great video guys, reminds me of diving into a sunken ship. Keep up the great work.
Marvelous to see all the artifacts in situ after all this time what a great video.
"Wow" and "Amazing" are the exact words I was thinking plus another thousand more exclamations and adjectives Very cool, So Beautiful!! thanks for sharing Awesome video.
That chamber is absolutely incredible , just wow. What a find !! Poor horse though , is it me or was there still hoof marks when you looked at the floor by the original vertical working ?
That one might be worth revisiting
You need to put a shout out to a cave diver to go down that winze and move the timbers out the way to open up the level!
Wow that’s so cool ⚓️👍🧲🛠️
Such a great video I could never explore a mine or anything underground so I appreciate being able to watch your Adventures
Awesome artifacts, and great seeing the timberwork down the winze. Diolch
The ROV is such a wonderful addition!
Reminds me of what oak island would be like
The urge to drop about 5 guppies in there is insane lol
did the Pony stroke horses staying there 24-hours a day or come out at end of the shift, I haven't watched it All yet but what a great video thank you. or does anyone else know???
What an amazing video and explore but it's somewhat depressing to see so much decay and rust.
I got to ask , how long does it take you to descend and ascend the mines ?
Iuean , how is the water so crystal clear ? You’d think it would be murky
Drop a few massive rocks down hole to clear the blockage
l like ur video's man i think the horse would have been a big clyeddess dont know if that is how u spell it man av seen a phowe of your videos but that is me just subscribed to your channel man 👍 keep up the good work man we don't have any think like that in Glasgow Scotland wish we did man 👍
What year was this mine active ?
Nothing left to collapse because it already collapsed years ago.. I think you could go deeper though!
Do you ever process talings or metal detect for minerals to process?
Are any of the mines you explore bat hibernation sites? Or don’t you have bats in Wales?
Mates ever come across spooks swimming for ya ?
Shire horses could be your answer ??
Shires would be too large more likley to be Dartmoor pony or a Welsh Cob or some other simmilar size pony/horse
Hire the cavern diver to explore it and take video it make the history
Watch out for floating miner hard hats swimming about ..............................
Sorry but the blockage in the winze is my fault as I used it for tipping from my abortive dig when i ran out of space.
For everyones benefit, the mine was reaccessed back in 2005 by me and others of the Welsh Mines Society. There is a note about this on the way in, at the bottom of the ladders, for some reason not shown in the video, I wonder why.
At the crossroads, left coming in was blocked and we decided to try and dig it. Our spoil accounts for the packwall you now see there. I was working with "DS" and "PS" who you will know Ioan. Anyway, they both lost heart and I carried on. Running out of room to tip I carried on by tipping into the winze. This accounts for the blockage, sorry.
The bowsaw is of course mine, thought you would realise this? I also lost a good chisel down there!
It is however, truly fascinating to see down there. Full marks on your ROV, please keep it up.
A note about the burried kibble. It is square and of timber construction and when originally seen was clear of debris. Since then stuff has moved and completely burried it. It would be worth digging out.
I wonder about these, the 2 in the difficult tight side passage may well date back to Bushell's days. I moved it to its present position as it was becoming buried under rock. I dont like touching artifacts never mind moving them so a difficult decision.
Just one more thing. Water resurges up through the floor at the cross roads. This could be down to a backfilled stope, or false floor.
I think maybe that if I had not called time on my digging back in 2008 I would not be here typing this!
How much padding do you need to fill this video. I gave up before the end because of the mindless rambling.
This us the worst mine recording I ever seen. Amateurs
at 19:10 min you see a lever above on the right side i think
