Great and helpful video, one question though. How are the loading times and do they happen frequently between areas? Or is it an open world with minimal loading moments? For example No Place For Bravery had to many loading moments for me, even between really small and short sections of the world. Thanks guys!
@SwitchUpYt Perfect, thanks for removing the minimal doubt I had 🙏 This game will not be part of my backlog, it will be played immediately. Have a good one!
This game seems very interesting. I enjoy games like this with hinted storylines. I played a game called Hob on the Switch that was a bit like this. Also, a fun one.
Games with this subject matter can be more than just a game to some. Having lost two very important people over the last year, burying my head in gaming is what's helped me through it on some days. This game looks beautiful.
Love the art style for this game! It’s grim color palette looks amazing for the story they are trying to tell. Some of the puzzles remind me of Hob. Adding to the wish list!
I really love how developers are bringing their home culture into their games! We’ve had amazing ones like Guayota, Tchia, Raji an Ancient Epic and now Selfloss! Really excited to give this a try!
The team behind this game seems so nice. I contacted them and they got back to me super quickly and kindly. The visuals and gameplay feel like something I’ll really enjoy. Really looking forward to the release and thanks so much for another super helpful review 🙏🏻💯
Games that explore the folklore and mythology of another culture always attract me. But, they’re so hard to get right. This one seems to capture that grey/maudlin quality that many Slavic countries exude until you breech the surface level of their lives in terms of humour and national identity. You guys have never steered me wrong, so this looks like a good bet! 👍🏻
I love the fact that indie devs take risks and create these crazy unique stories. This game looks beautiful. It reminds me of a mixture of The Last Campfire, Gris, and Death’s Door. This game looks beautiful and heartwarming.
Wow. The symbolism in this game is really bringing out my poetic emotional side. Sailing the rough tides of loss searching for calmer seas and to stop the corruption of the world breaking you down by shining your positive light on it despite grief!!! Bloody hell, I need to play GTA for a few minutes to recover
There’s a particular charm about the animations in this game, it’s quite mesmerizing 😮 and I really like the idea of a game about healing and moving on, very cool concept
I love these kinds of titles. This kind of dark emotional cosmic horror stuff is right up my alley, and the details and ideas stick around and make you think long after the game is over. An exploration of the human condition through a dark and supernatural wilderness. Definitely picking this guy up.
This looks excellent, it’s great to see the switch still receiving all the love from indie devs. You guys were truly busy this week eh? I almost couldn’t keep up with the videos. Cheers
Oh... I get it. It's art! It's my type of game... Some of my favorite games are art. It seems like it's a much darker version of The Last Campfire, which is also pretty neat and tackles similar subjects. Might make me cry... And I love crying while playing games!
The somber art style for this game is giving me Death’s Door vibes mixed in with Last Campfire puzzle solving. And Eastward’s miasma! Can’t wait to try this out adding to my Deku Deals wish list 😊
Just finished watching your NanoApostel review as well and although it looks amazing, I would say that Selfloss is much more my vibe. No stress, floating around in my boat, solving puzzles, perfection.
Any fan of the Nintendo switch or even just a casual gamer should understand that switch up channel should be a requirement not only do they bring you the latest information they do it in a very informative and entertaining way. Thank you guys at switch up
I love the way it looks so much that I wishlisted it the first time y'all mentioned it. It looks so fun, like going through a dream that at any moment could become a nightmare
Amazing looking indie game! Where was this at the indie world? The art work feels very whimsical yet grim. And the combat and puzzles seem to work well with those themes of loss. Going to add to my wish list on the eshop and check for reviews later this week.
This looks great. Not the sort of game that would have come up on my feed if you guys hadn’t covered it but absolutely something I’d love. Great review ❤
Between the art style and the music, it seems like they’ve completely nailed the eerie mood in this game. Pairing this with headphones probably makes for the perfect October game to play. 🎃
I first heard about this game in a short video by another creator citing nordic/slavic games and their themes. I'm really glad to see you guys giving indie devs a platform (like always ❤❤). The game may not be perfect, but it looks amazing, and I'll gladly give it a chance.
Thanks for the review guys! This one looks great! Would love to try it! Definitely getting Dredge vibes. This is what I always wished it was like when you get out at ports in Dredge....able to walk around and explore, interact etc. Would bring Dredge to a whole new level.
I played through spiritfarer right around the time my mom passed and it became a very important game to me. And now this game is speaking to me in that same way. Really looking forward to trying this one out. I wouldn’t have heard of it if it weren’t for this video so I appreciate that.
I've also had my eye on Selfloss and would love to play. Just finished Spiritfarer, what's another potential tearjerker going to do to me? 🤔 Also, the art style is giving me Tunic vibes!
This kind of reminds me of Dredge. I remember putting this on my wishlist when it was first mentioned in this channel but forgot about it. Thanks for the full review!
This gives me kind of Death's Door vibes too, I'm super stoked to learn things about Slavic mythology! Cool to see the little Baba Yaga house at 8:51, excited to see what's up with the whale
This looks great! And this is why I love Indies! They have that extra touch of care and thought that the “big boys” don’t seem to always have. Looking forward to this Indie Review thing yall got going on 👍
The game reminds me of Death's Door or the upcoming Little Devil Inside, though of course less comedic. It has that old world myths and legends kind of world building, fairy tale-esque but modern world presence. It looks really good!
I haven't given many indie games a go as of late, but the presentation here is an attention-drawer. Games that somehow manage to make cohesive smorgasbords out of disparate regional inspirations are always a pleasant surprise.
Bramble was a deep game that hit a special kind of hard. Selfloss looks beautiful. I love a game that tells a good story and leaves you with some processing to do. This looks like one.
I was really intrigued on the Slavic mythology. Reminds me of Deaths Door. Loss and death are definitely a theme that needs to be explored more in games and I’m glad other cultures are shedding light on it. Very much looking forward to this game. Very into the atmosphere and color palette.
Looks like a beautiful, ambient game with an intriguing story. The price is a bit steep for 6-8 hours of gameplay, so I'll wait to pick this up until it goes on sale. Great find!
This is why I love following this channel! Getting me interested in the game via the Gamescom video and now this! I think the price might be a bit high for 6-8 hours of gameplay, but it's a physical so I guess I'm in 😅 Cheers guys!
The art style is beautiful, it really looks great and sounds interesting. I've recently started playing Death's Door and I really like it, I will have to add Selfloss to my wishlist to play it next.
This looks like a really interesting title! I'm loving the ethereal aesthetics, looks like a waking nightmare! I'll keep an eye out for this if it ever comes up in the sale.
Very nice looking environment and I have to agree with you on the sound 👌 I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for this one. As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts/early impression on this.
I live in Iceland. When I first saw the title of the game I got excited, since Selfoss is a beautiful town here. One of my dear friends live there. :) And reading the description, it is indeed inspired by Iceland as well! Im curious to see how it will mix with the Slavic myths and how much I recognize haha. Cant wait to try it out, the narrative and music, dark ambiance is very luring, would love to win a copy!
It's so interesting that video games have transformed from simple arcade games into immersive worlds that explore complex human themes. Games continue to push boundaries and explore new things. I think video games have the most potential of all art forms. They have so many different uses, from mindless time waste to thought-provoking explorations of serious themes
"The narrative begins with you taking control of an old man" Oh, so like most of my mornings, as I try and drag myself out of bed. This one looks interesting, may be a future pickup once I clear some bigger games off my list.
Game looks nice very artsy.. looks like a world I want to explore. I'm just glad to see an actual game. I keeps seeing games like Genshin and Star rail. Both look amazing and fun then I realize they are just online gotcha games. So disappointing the waste potential. I wish they just make the game I buy it
Looks like a great game, and although I don’t usually go for this sort of genre of game, it gives off that kind of dark/spooky feel, but it looks beautiful at the same time, whats rare but I’m all for it!

For example No Place For Bravery had to many loading moments for me, even between really small and short sections of the world. Thanks guys!
@@WitteDeWith83 the areas are pretty huge you only have loading in little buildings and the fact I didn’t notice means it was ok :)
I saw this on your guys other video, I'm pretty interested dealing with lots recently myself, I anticipate it may be a journey for me.
Games with this subject matter can be more than just a game to some. Having lost two very important people over the last year, burying my head in gaming is what's helped me through it on some days. This game looks beautiful.
Sorry for your loss 🙏
Love the art style for this game! It’s grim color palette looks amazing for the story they are trying to tell. Some of the puzzles remind me of Hob. Adding to the wish list!
I really love how developers are bringing their home culture into their games! We’ve had amazing ones like Guayota, Tchia, Raji an Ancient Epic and now Selfloss! Really excited to give this a try!
Yeah it’s great to see it. Mark
And here we have three russians pretending being Kazakhs bringing a stolen appropriated culture
Don't forget tales of kenzera zau!!
@@williamelliott186 Of course!! Fantastic game! Beautiful, moving story and a lovely art style!
Such a shame it released at the same time as Prince of Persia… It deserved a lot more press.
The team behind this game seems so nice. I contacted them and they got back to me super quickly and kindly. The visuals and gameplay feel like something I’ll really enjoy. Really looking forward to the release and thanks so much for another super helpful review 🙏🏻💯

Totally agree with you mate! Mark
I love the fact that indie devs take risks and create these crazy unique stories. This game looks beautiful. It reminds me of a mixture of The Last Campfire, Gris, and Death’s Door. This game looks beautiful and heartwarming.
This art style reminds me of Dredge on land. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
Wow. The symbolism in this game is really bringing out my poetic emotional side.
Sailing the rough tides of loss searching for calmer seas and to stop the corruption of the world breaking you down by shining your positive light on it despite grief!!! Bloody hell, I need to play GTA for a few minutes to recover
Hahaha love this❤
It seems a dark take on a cozy game and its brilliant. Dealing with grief is like the rest of life, just in an entirely different hue.
Played it on Steam already! I highly recomend it to everyone who wants to play it on a Switch as well
This looks amazing.
I'm loving this style of art; tunic did it quite well too.
Nice seeing more of it :)
There’s a particular charm about the animations in this game, it’s quite mesmerizing 😮 and I really like the idea of a game about healing and moving on, very cool concept
That looks absolutely delightful and very atmospheric. This is definitely on my radar.
I love these kinds of titles. This kind of dark emotional cosmic horror stuff is right up my alley, and the details and ideas stick around and make you think long after the game is over. An exploration of the human condition through a dark and supernatural wilderness. Definitely picking this guy up.
Love the idea of healing yourself with light! Cool art style too.
There is something weirdly comforting playing an isometric game where your character is old. Seems fitting as I get older myself 😅
Reminds me of The Last Campfire... And I loved this one! Will definitely make it's way to my (very small) backlog 😂
Visually it's giving me Death's Door vibes and that's one of my top 5 games.
I'm looking forward to diving into the folklore of the game.
Isometric games are among my favorites, the art style is super enticing to jump into. The music I'm also super interested in, definitely haunting.
Yes! Was hoping for a full review of this
This looks excellent, it’s great to see the switch still receiving all the love from indie devs. You guys were truly busy this week eh? I almost couldn’t keep up with the videos. Cheers
I read this as “Sell Floss” at first. I love the art style. It reminds me of some of the worlds in 3D adventure games back around the PSX era.
As an atmosphere sucker... I'm sold.
Oh... I get it. It's art! It's my type of game... Some of my favorite games are art. It seems like it's a much darker version of The Last Campfire, which is also pretty neat and tackles similar subjects. Might make me cry... And I love crying while playing games!
I absolutely love the art style of this. It’s definitely a game I’m keeping on my radar.
This wasn't on my radar but it is now! Thanks for continuous delivering awesome content.
The somber art style for this game is giving me Death’s Door vibes mixed in with Last Campfire puzzle solving. And Eastward’s miasma! Can’t wait to try this out adding to my Deku Deals wish list 😊

This art style plus the folklore aspect, absolutely intrigued. Will likely be picking up! Thanks for putting this on the radar. (😭
The boat mechanic looks cool, plus the artstyle really helps with the setting. Another one for the backlog😂
Yeah it’s eerily peaceful while still being unsettling. Mark
I love the way it looks so much that I wishlisted it the first time y'all mentioned it. It looks so fun, like going through a dream that at any moment could become a nightmare
oh wow that looks stunning, wouldn't mind getting a copy to get my hands on.
This game went on my Wishlist as soon as I saw it!! It ticks all the boxes for me.
Amazing looking indie game! Where was this at the indie world? The art work feels very whimsical yet grim. And the combat and puzzles seem to work well with those themes of loss. Going to add to my wish list on the eshop and check for reviews later this week.
I really enjoy games that help tackle difficult subjects. The world looks very serene.
This looks great. Not the sort of game that would have come up on my feed if you guys hadn’t covered it but absolutely something I’d love. Great review ❤
Wonderful looking game, it reminds me of Death’s Door, a game that also oozes atmosphere. Colour me intrigued!
Between the art style and the music, it seems like they’ve completely nailed the eerie mood in this game. Pairing this with headphones probably makes for the perfect October game to play. 🎃
This game really looks amazing. The color palette and audio are really intriguing to me. It feels very tim burtonesque.

Thanks for the review guys! This one looks great! Would love to try it! Definitely getting Dredge vibes. This is what I always wished it was like when you get out at ports in Dredge....able to walk around and explore, interact etc. Would bring Dredge to a whole new level.
This game just looks beautiful!
Yeah it really does! Mark
Have the physical pre ordered after your mention of it before made it sound so good. Really looking forward to it.
Good thing. The switch version is sold out everywhere. Had to settle for the ps5 one.
I played through spiritfarer right around the time my mom passed and it became a very important game to me. And now this game is speaking to me in that same way. Really looking forward to trying this one out. I wouldn’t have heard of it if it weren’t for this video so I appreciate that.
I love that cold, oceanic vibe! Having lost my dad a couple of years ago, games about loss always hit me.
I love the desaturated colors that's shown in this game. Definitely adds to the ambiance of what they are going for. Would love a copy if possible!
I've also had my eye on Selfloss and would love to play. Just finished Spiritfarer, what's another potential tearjerker going to do to me? 🤔
Also, the art style is giving me Tunic vibes!
This looks beautiful. Going to pick this up. Colour palette reminds me of one of my favourite Christmas films, Klaus
This is absolutely gorgeous. What a stunning setting.
Looks like a real winner, definitely something I will be adding to my collection!!
I love games that deal with real life issues and by doing so, become works of art.
This one just looks special. I love games like this with an emotional journey with a dash of existential dread.
Love to hear an official review from you guys.
This looks great! And this is why I love Indies! They have that extra touch of care and thought that the “big boys” don’t seem to always have. Looking forward to this Indie Review thing yall got going on 👍

From the first images I love the stylist choices I feel this is 100% my vibe!
It reminds me a bit of spiritfarer in a way with the theme and the visuals and atmosphere a bit like dredge. Very interesting 🤔
This game is beautiful, looks like a new version of deaths door
Oh this looks fantastic- another to add to the backlog for winter?
Selfloss looks so interesting and evocative, will be looking forward to it coming out
I haven't given many indie games a go as of late, but the presentation here is an attention-drawer.
This looks really nice! Interesting premise as well
The look and creatures are giving me dredge vibes. And I love dredge so will absolutely be checking this out. Nice one guys

A perfect autumn game hauntingly beautiful
What a beautiful piece of art this game appears to be. I'll be keeping my eyes on the sales videos for this one
Wait, this isn’t a shop management game about selling floss?
😂
This is why I love following this channel! Getting me interested in the game via the Gamescom video and now this! I think the price might be a bit high for 6-8 hours of gameplay, but it's a physical so I guess I'm in 😅 Cheers guys!
I love games that heavily feature the Ocean. This looks right up my alley! The vibe kinda reminds me of Dredge, one of my favorite games of all time.
The art style is beautiful, it really looks great and sounds interesting. I've recently started playing Death's Door and I really like it, I will have to add Selfloss to my wishlist to play it next.
I love these kind of games where they trend more towards an artistic expression than just entertainment.
looks cool, and the devs probably put a lot of hearth and soul on it. I could appreciate such a indie game
This looks like a really interesting title! I'm loving the ethereal aesthetics, looks like a waking nightmare! I'll keep an eye out for this if it ever comes up in the sale.
Love this art style, perfect for Switch, AND a dark and broody story. Let's go!
This game makes me just want to cover in a blanket on my couch, take my headphones and enjoy the journey! Love it!
Very nice looking environment and I have to agree with you on the sound 👌 I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for this one. As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts/early impression on this.
This game's world looks fascinating. Would love to try it out!
Love how games can help explain loss to anyone and how loss is handled in other cultures.

ooo sign me up for this new adventure. as per usual, thanks for highlighting the goods for us :)

Never played nor heard of this game before, looks relaxing. Thanks for sharing.
Great ambience. Looks intriguing
"The narrative begins with you taking control of an old man" Oh, so like most of my mornings, as I try and drag myself out of bed. This one looks interesting, may be a future pickup once I clear some bigger games off my list.
Love the look and appreciate games with serious themes, definitely will need to pick this one up at some point
This looks so relaxing and satisfying at the same time be a great play
Really love games like this that doesn't spoon feed you all the story. Looks great too! Really interested to try it
Huge fan of this art style! Very reminiscent of Ashen or most recently Dredge. Im really looking forward to playing this.
This game looks like it could be the love child of Old man’s journey and Death’s door ! Really interesting.
This game looks amazing!
The boating slightly reminds me of dredge and art style brings memories of death's door.
The backlog keeps growing... 😅
I'm most excited about the music and the puzzles. I was too scared to play bramble, but I think I'll give this a try since it has the same feels.
Game looks nice very artsy.. looks like a world I want to explore. I'm just glad to see an actual game. I keeps seeing games like Genshin and Star rail.
