When this came out, BTS said it's their most difficult choreography ever! Then Idol came, and BTS said they die every time they dance that. Literally collapsing after every performance. Now, they have ON... 😂
I remember Jin begging their choreographer to go easy next time, but when that next time came, the dances got more and more difficult. 😂
Jinki Han Idol is not technical per se (for them 😆), its just very physically draining. Danger, Dope, DNA and Dionysis (oh, all start with D) have very intricate and difficult moves which are wonderful to watch.
Ya even j-hope said recently on vlive that he almost threw up from how hard ON was 😫
Also after 4~5 years of debut, idol's choreography generally becomes easier because it's hard to dance so powerful as they get older. Freaking seven years have passed since BTS debuted, and their choreography is harder than any rookies lol. It's just getting tougher and tougher still now.💀 Pray for their joints.

i was actually so glad they had a break and eased it up with bwl (i mean i dont know much about dance so correct me if im wrong but it looks pretty easy and fun at the same time) but then they started promoting on music shows with dionysus and i was like 😅.. but at least the title choreo was easier than most of their songs

I love how the first time they did the move on the floor it was Hoseok and Jungkook and the second time they did it, it’s was Hoseok and Jimin but Hoseok was on the opposite side ... they make it look effortless
I love watching their dance practices, because I’m sure everyone’s heard how Jin and Namjoon are the “worse dancers” in BTS, but then you see them dancing with nothing else to distract you from their movements and it makes you realize, that statement means jack shit! They are all such good dancers it’s insane. Them not being in the “dance line” only means that they don’t have as much experience as the other guys when it comes to dancing. Damn they’re good!
I think Suga is seriously underrated as a dancer too.
True facts have been spoken here. Jin and RM are extremely good at dancing. I think people tend to look for things to criticize in others rather than looking in the mirror to critique themselves in order to make self improvements. Sad really because people like Jin and RM are always working on improving and they will continue to rise higher and higher while those who criticize continue to stay stagnant.
I love this comment. Sometimes I focus on them because I want to see how hard they have worked. They may not have been born with the talent to dance but they have practiced so hard that they surpass expectations. I love how they are not afraid to show that they practice harder than others (Jin says this all the time). Everyone's turf is different. Jin's voice is extremely stable and flexible (check out Dionysus) and RM has one of the best word play in world-wide rap (the only person I can compare him to at present is Eminem, sorry). They already do enough. Them practicing for dance is their contribution to hard work.

You know what's crazy? On their latest VLive, SUGA and Hobi said 'ON' is their hardest choreo. I guessed they were going to say DNA because of the intricacy. I think it was Hobi who said he almost throws up when they perform ON. 😱 I mean, the talent of these mennnn!!!! 💜

It's ON now... even Jhope, HOBI said it was hard.... honestly I never thought DNA is a hard choreo dance stepwise compared to some other BTS songs, the formation and timing are the key in this song, just my opinion though

Others are mentioning it, but I'll give you full details: During a press tour Jimin and j-hope went on in Japan for the Love Yourself: Her comeback (which DNA was the leading single for), j-hope was asked about his dance skills. Before he could even say anything, Jimin jumped in and told the interviewers that j-hope had learned that final section of DNA (the "grand finale," as Nico called it) in 10 minutes when it had taken everyone else 4 hours.

Hobi humbly said it was more like around half an hour. 😊 Maybe it was somewhere in the middle? I guess we'll never know. Regardless, how incredible. And Jimin is such a sweet angel for showing off his hyung, who is notoriously awkward about skill-related compliments and praise. I'll link you to the interview so you can watch it on your own time, but it's only available without English subtitles (it has French ones, though, if that helps you...). By chance, I know enough Japanese to understand the basics of what they're saying, which is why I can report back to you. 😂

DNA (and Blood, Sweat & Tears) was what got me into BTS. I was introduced to them when DNA had _just_ come out. It's such an incredible song, such an incredible video, such incredible choreography. Along with BST, it was more than enough to send me spiraling into obsession. Shortly after I had fallen in love with them, they were performing DNA at the American Music Awards as the first Korean pop artists ever to do such a thing. I'm so thankful for this song, and I think it will always be the most special BTS song to me.
I actually saw an article from 2017 (a year before that interview) that said V made everyone laugh when he added, “We mastered the difficult choreography after practicing for more than four hours, but J-Hope finished it in ten minutes.” So I thought that was interesting. Like you said J-Hope was probably just being humble. :)

Both J-Hope and Suga both said during a vlive that "ON" is now their most difficult song to perform. Suga said looking back he thought Dope was a really hard dance at the time but now it seems so easy. They just keep upping their game. I know they are all great dancers now but I never expected they would keep pushing the boundaries further and further for what they could do with choreography. I'm so proud of all of them, especially RM, Jin, and Suga . RM and Jin have improved so much it's crazy to see how good they have gotten. Suga I think was always a good dancer when he wanted to dance that is, he was never that enthusiastic about dancing unless he was really feeling the song. But to see him pushing himself and trying. RM even talked about being surprised by him and impressed that Suga chose to do a dance for "Seesaw" something he hadn't done for a solo performance before. Though RM said he complained while learning the dance the whole time lol. I think that's Yoongi's charm though he may moan and groan, make a fuss while learning it but he doesn't give up.
Suga is a great dancer - when he wants to be. Thank you for saying that. It reminds me of V. Taehyung had it in him to be a great dancer. He just had songs he was passionate about. That's why it took a while to join the dance line. In Jungkook's words "V hyung is very passionate about what he likes"
BTS "is" the best! Once again, love watching you guys & how you appreciate their EVERY move, their talent. When BTS came into my life, there has been "no going back". I love all of them, their individual voices, how they harmonize together, their dancing, their personalities & their humor. They just make me happy. Personally, my favorite music video is Fake love because as a film student I really love the practical effects, lighting, art design, etc. However; DNA is in my top 5 list of favorite BTS dances. They look so smooth when dancing it's mesmerizing each time I watch it. I think my favorite part about this reaction though was Blaze being in shock the whole time and AJJ retreating into his shirt 😂

The very first videos I saw of BTS was this video and the blood sweat and tears dance practice. I was hooked. Then I "just wanted to know there names" LOL. Now I'm card carrying ARMY.
BTS MV’s are one of those things you have to watch multiple times. So much going go and you catch something new each time. Forget trying to read the lyrics, the visuals are just blinding. So you have the dancing, the visuals, plus you usually have a story mixed into the fold! Then you watch the dance practice and realize how much more you missed out on!! The way Blaze and AJJ look at each other @11:57 says it all! Whew, you need a nap after all of that greatness! LOL
What Blaze was saying about trusting each other and timing reminds me of an argument V and Jin had just before going onstage before a concert a few years back. V trying to get Jin to speed up his timing because it was throwing him off. It turned into a whole thing that was later resolved.
at the end of this choreo the last two in line are tae and jin, and jin would often hug tae :D

This is the song that started it all for me. Once I saw DNA, I was hooked. My niece said I was DNA ARMY. 💜💜 Did you know that the yellow structure that they filmed in DNA is also the one they used in Idol? I also love the foot choreo in the end. And if you notice real close Hobi is breathing very hard. So you know, as always, they put their all into it. Stay safe guys and enjoy BTS.
Speaking of the crazy way these guys are synched with their dances, it is SO interesting to watch and listen to them when they are going to perform on a TV show. Say it was for Saturday Night Live, the guys come in and amongst themselves, they assess how much space they have to work in. They talk to each other, like "OK, instead of jumping out the way we usually do with this choreography, we'll do this instead and you do this and he will do that..". It's really cool to watch.
DNA and Blood, Sweat, and Tears is responsible for me becoming ARMY. I saw the MVs, with subtitles, and have been hooked ever since. The dance practices just solidified the pure drive and talent I saw from these guys.

wow DNA was one of the reasons that got me into the BTS rabbit hole. i remember watching their dance practices more than their MVs because i was literally in awe of their greatness (synchronization + choreo) and I was also trying to convince myself i shouldn't get tempted into becoming an ARMY (i like another group that time). So i was defeated and naturally accepted my fate that i'm in this Bangtan Sonyeondan sh*t for life and i have no regrets whatsoever..Liking and loving these 7 boys is such a wonderful journey. (PS. i'm always looking forward to your reaction videos because it helps me/us go through these trying times. you're one of those guys that genuinely loves BTS, their talents and the messages that they send out to their fans and haters alike) =)

The choreography is constantly, how do I say it, ahm...moving... its challenging enough to learn & memorize choreo/steps in sequence, then add to that, formations & knowing your spot at every beat.. they're always flawlessly in sync with each other... I'm sure the choreo is murder to learn, but this is probably my favorite choreo of theirs. It's smooth like buttah and AJJ's ostrich feels are my feels for the last bit. Hobi learning the "grand finale" in 20 minutes? Our bias-wrecking dance captain strikes again.

As a former competitive classical dancer and someone who also taught dance, their collective talent is part of the reason why I stan them. I also get protective when someone comments that RM and Jin can't dance or are weak. They are way above average dancers and that should be respected. All of their footwork is phenomenal. It's fascinating watching fellow dancers doing the same thing I do when I watch their videos and dance practices. 💜

@@adamjupiter1 Oh no! 😳😂 I learned some of it from following an RPM Dance Crew tutorial and most of it from rewatching it hundreds of times! I always watch their dance practices way more than once!
I love watching you relish every move and appreciate them to the core. The choreographer is a genius and he really knows how to work with the boys and make them show off their talents. Never been a Kpop group fan until I saw BTS lately.
