Hello :) Nice Videos. I have a Sata-Backlane thats lost HDD 1 very often (the HDD is working proberly) (DS412-BP-CTRL) can you tell me a Hint to fix it?
Sorry, no I don't know how to fix that. I have never had to fix the backplane issues before although we have found a lot of information on IC replacement and on some forums they discuss adding a resistor to help stabilize the system. So while I don't know how to do it yet, there is lots of info available both on YT and forums out there.
Hi Nick, great video. My DS412+ when turn on only see blue light blinking a few times then off. The fan also not moving during this process. Is this similar daughter board ic problem?
I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure. It could be but also could be something else. The fact that it turns back off would make me believe it could be a different fault. I would probably need to diagnose it to be able to tell you what is going on.
Yes sir that is correct. How else would it make sense for someone to give away all of that information for free otherwise? It's a lot of hard work to figure out how some of these things break. Most repair companies would charge you $50-$100 for this diagnostic that I am giving away for free. It's a win win if you ask me.

Nice job. Where did you get the eeprom file to flash ? I have a DS218 that seems to show the exact same problem.
Had to get it from a good working unit
