I love the older s10s. The trucks are starting to get hard to find here in Ky but the s10 blazers are everywhere. I see more of them then probably any other car. I would love to have a 93 down s10 4.3 but price has went way to high on them now. I have a stock 98 z71 and a 2001 jeep XJ that will be with me till i die. Have a wonderful Xmas Bert. Thanks for the vids.
I drive a rusty, trusty 2008 GMC. Since I live off a dirt road, it gets a coating of calcium chloride all summer, and then salt in the winter. The rear fenders are rotted, the tailgate has a big hole in it, and the doors and cab corners are rusted out-but I've changed the oil every interval, and taken care of it the best I can. the frame is solid, though. I'm going to keep driving as long as I can. I could easily buy a new one, but not for now.
@@ScrapFarmI've had a few vehicles that I had to replace the switch it wasn't the blower motor. Usually when a blower motor goes it stays not running or you'll hear the bearing squealing. Always the high pressure side goes on the power steering pump. I've had to change them out on my Vans. GMC Sierra. I love them vans. Like a 350 motor with two cylinders cut off. V6. @@ScrapFarmbut u have A nice setup in the garage with the hoist. I would get me an oil burner. You can use old recycle oil for fuel I have one in my garage I haven't bought fuel for it in years. I know too many people that do their own oil changes and they bring by their used oil.
@@ScrapFarmyou should get a can of paint clean all that rust off and then parts under that truck and paint them to keep them from rusting even more your spring hangers will eventually roit right away faster than you think. I would definitely put a new rear end cover pan on that truck. It's going to start rusting holes through it
My 98 chevy 3500 8 foot bed 2wd just blew its trans on the way home from a job quote. I have no garage and work out of my driveway repairing it. 12 years ago I paid $800 for it from a friend who was going to scrap it because it was leaking oil into the coolant thru the intake gaskets. I fixed that and maintained it over the years. Trans shop i dropped it off on a Tuesday had it back with a Jasper trans by Friday. Cost me $6150 in credit cards. I had no choice because its a work truck with a utility cap with almost all the tools i own in it. its got about 2.25k on it. Merry Christmas Bert!
Hi Bert, I feel sorry for you in the northern hemisphere in your winter Freeze, down under we are in the Summer 30 degrees Celius = about 90 degrees Farinhight, It CHRISTMAS DAY HERE. SO HAVE A GREAT CHRISMAS BERT AND A BETTER NEW YEAR.
Our ABS went out, part no longer made for a 10 yr old car. I own a 98 Sonoma, 4 banger with manual. Merry Christmas to all at the Scrap Farm homestead.
Merry Christmas Bert.. great video, loving the patch jobs you do. Often wondered about building a garage with a lift and just renting it out for a daily fee... for guys just like yourself. Would you think it would be a decent investment if you had the land to do it as part of your own set-up.
Merry Christmas Bert! i survived Christmas prep. How's the orange fuzzball? Bet he'd like a few hours of nice warm wood stove. He''ll leave you the salt and the rust though; he does orange just fine on his own.
Merry christmas to you and your family Bert, hoping granny's getting better in the new year. About new cars and all the electronics and computers, that's why they're not called mechanics anymore, they're called engineers or technicians. 😂 As an old school retired self employed mechanic, no I can't recognize the mess in your shop, because if my shop had looked like yours, I wouldn't had been able to do anything, I would've used at least half of my time, running around looking for tools and whatnot, and that's the opposite of being productive - I wouldn't had earned any money. 😅
YEAR BERT YOU COULD GET ONE OF THOSE PLASTIC TRUCKS, WITH LARGE REPAYMENT PLANS,. BUT ALL IT TAKE IS ONE SMASH. THEN YOUR UP SHITZ CREEK, NO TRUCK JUST BIG INSURANCE BILL.

I do and don't agree with you Bert on the fixing or buying new.ive got a 99 3500 flatbed that tows or of my trailers that needs some front end work but I still use it.Ive for a 99 f250 that needs a little love as well.2 months ago I bought a one owner 2015 Silverado and it really is a pleasure to get in it and drive without having to do anything to it.The 3500 tows my dump trailer and I'm getting it fixed after the 1st of the year along with the 250.ill never part with the 3500 because of what it's done for us..
I need to do some more filming but I've been working by myself lately... when you buy somebody's whole house drag it to your house sort out the trash and donation and sellable stuff and then load your truck with all the syllable stuff and then unload your truck with all the sellable stuff and if you got good stuff and you're making good money you're extremely busy multiple people at the same time.... then throw filming on top of it.. it's actually pretty crazy not that I'm complaining because I'm choosing to do it I definitely need to do more filming what the weather was nice and I was jamming Full Throttle 24/7 not really but mostly
Anything built within the last 15-20 years is trash. They're all junk, pick which brand of junk you like best. That's mainly why the newest truck I own is a 2002, and that's new enough
Yeah I've been saying that for years but everybody keeps buying them instead of sticking with the old ones like I tell them to and then they wonder why they have all kinds of major issues that can't be fixed by a normal cheap mechanic.... I love it when they come to you and ask you what they should buy for reliability and then completely don't even listen
Merry Christmas Bert ... didnt know if you was still making videos or not seems like 6 months or so since youtube told me there was a new one .... have a happy new year as well bud !
