That's a decent first aid kit, but I like to carry a set of forceps (curved tip) for tic and thorn removal.

Thanks! I have some of those and definitely need to add them, along with tweezers. The cheap Swiss army knife has a blade and scissors...

I have always carried a few items but not a dedicated kit for first aid.
You have me thinking about it.
I am going to put one together.
The little plastic box looked to be fairly waterproof.

That was a great vid today.
I was wondering if you could help me out with a question though.
Any other light you could shed on the two surplus bandages you spoke of?
As soon as your vid was over, I tried like crazy to find them online, and only came up with a rectangular cravat that everyone is familiar with.
I always try to find things on my own before reaching out for help, but this time I think I might need a helping hand.
    Thanks Hoss! 👍

I like the kit. And I like that it seems very practical and focused on what will actually be used often. It's good to have the life saving stuff, but it's also good to have your common case scenario kit for when you just need to score some points with your date after she scrapes her knee.
I will say though that I think a tourniquet is a must in any kit, especially out in the woods.

Always good to have a trauma kit or similar if going to be shooting. Being prior military, i bring what i think will be sufficient for the event that im doing. If shooting, bringing the trauma version i put together and if basic hiking or camping, ill bring the boo-boo kit which is similar to what you have.

I agree 100%, however I am not usually shooting just hiking and camping. I carry the gun for emergencies...

Did your Alice ammo pouches have the grenade holders on the side? If so did you cut them off? I’ve only seen ammo pouches with the grenade holders on the sides and that’s what I’m used to from when I was in the Army in the 90’s.

You forgot tummy meds like anti diarrhea , pesto pills, Alka seltser. Antacids. Your stomach can take you out of the marching.
