That thing makes my rotten old Hillman look nearly pristine. Thanks for the inspiration. BTW, just found your channel. Nice stuff. Cheers from Denmark

citreon is a great parts car, stick it in a shed till another comes up
just found your channel, had 1960' and 70's rear engine skodas as my classic "of choice", my first was an 77 S110R i got as a panel beater apprentice in 1985, it was smashed front and back so it was a great project to use to learn on along side my apprenticeship on the old yts scheme
    still have it today!
last 20 years were spent working on the old FX4 taxis, boy they were fun to do bodywork on, learnt alot when i went there for sure, you had to make loads of stuff fit rather than just strip and re panel.
i'll look at giving the novol epoxy a go, mostly ever used etch and 2k primers

I've always thought the DS was a beautiful car. I'm old enough to remember tatty ones in daily use in the '80s. Not many around now though.

Don't buy an old car without looking at it! This really is beyond hope unless a skilled welder with DS obsession comes out of the woodwork.

True, sometimes a car is just too far gone to realistically save unless there's an emotional or other special attachment to it, in which case common sense often leaves the room at that point :-)

Would buy this myself but already have a rusty DS23ie restoration, all panels available new/reproduction and would definitely be worth doing since it is the highest specification DS23.
Seriously if you are going to break please get in touch.

Ita shame it's too far gone but it gives the possibility of a right hand drive conversion of a better car.

Such a shame, but that's a parts car. My first classic was a black manual '73 DS23 back in the late 80's. It was rusty even then. I mean no offence, but there were still back street garages in the North West with really talented fabricators who didn't cost an arm and a leg. Otherwise, I couldn't have afforded to keep the car on the road. (It's still registered, though not to me.) The semi automatic was an interesting car to drive, I turned a nice one down at £2500. Top money at the time and sadly way beyond my budget.

It would cost about £70,000 to restore. Then it's worth £40,000. Maybe worth doing in 1O years time, store in a barn until then!

Great lesson at end of your video ,and very disappointing as I was hoping you were going carry out renovation work. I think parts car would be the sensible route now, but in 10 years time maybe not ??

This Citroën is too far gone. There are no cars where the state of the structure and the outer appearance can differ so much than on a Citroën D-Model. They can look really nice or at least decent from a little distance, and are rotten to the bones structuraly because of the panel on frame design which is shared with the Rover P6.
I wonder about the state of the roofrail. It looks amazingly decent from the distance, regarding the state of the rear framework.
