- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2012 Volkswagen CC R-Line. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
My aunt had one of these but it was a 2013. She passed away 2 years ago at 49 from cancer.. but this video brought me so many memories 😔 thank you Kyle!

If you do an APR tune, it's a world of difference. Really opens the power. Super fun with manual trans.
With a sunroof it would almost be perfect
I recently purchased the a 2012 CC R-Line largely identical to the model described here. Mine is a rare 6 speed manual version with only 45K miles on the clock. If you're reading this in 2021 you may have been looking at or for such a vehicle. If so, I'd highly recommend it. And having owned a couple of GTIs with the same engine and the DSG, I'd recommend the dual clutch version as well. Of course, it lacks some of the bells and whistles of current vehicles (e.g. rear camera, adaptive cruise control, etc.) but it's beautiful and a strong performer. Used car prices these days are insanely high these days but if you can find an example for $12K or so, it's a bargain.

@@fouad3831 $11K. And though the tires were in excellent shape, I decided to replace them simply because they were original rubber. That was about $800 more.
Heya...very interesting, I'm looking at basically the exact same model, 2012 6 speed man and 46K, one owner very clean. Asking 14K, I'm guessing I can get it for 13...how's the reliability been? They have a very iffy rep, seems like they're mostly pretty good but they made some total lemons here and there. Thanks, appreciate any input you have around a year down the road. Cheers!
9 more months before i buy mine !!!!! This car is amazing, drove the 2012 jetta rental last december and i knew then that my next car would be a volkswagon. The cc r-line is perfect.
The audio quality sound #Great !!! VW is the best !!
Excellent walkthrough. Missed a few things. Rain sensing wipers, iPod connection in glovebox. SD card slot. Plays mp3s from CDs.
This car is gorgeous but what's with that racket from the engine? Do they all sound like that?
+John Schaeffer That's the sound of the direct injection. Many DI cars sound like that.
they fixed it! did anyone remember older vw's and audi's that would angrily beep at you with the lights on even when the car's running?
rented a CC while in Dallas...and traffic there moves at 90mph like I'm use to when I lived in Germany. after driving it for 3days i reconsidered getting a Lexus GS 350. im seriously going to get a CC R-Line w/ navigation...and that 2.0T is worth it in gas mileage and power!
We have a CC, it appears the American market CC has a lot less features than the Euro version

well you must have an upper trim CC this is the R line and we only get one r line which is similar to the sport just different bumper and rims

@SubieSean The TSI engine in the CC is from mid-2008. The 2.0 that was in the old golfs and other VWs is a completely different engine.
I drive a beautiful black 2009 model CC, 140 hp with DSG and glass roof. Interior is more or less the same. I simply love this car!
@FrenchValleyAirport Automatic lights mean they automatically turn on when it gets dark when the switch is set to Auto. A good example is like when you see a car go under a dark bridge during the daytime and you see the head lights come on.

Well I do have to agree on that one! Contrary to the CC's facelift, the Tiguan's was an actual visual upgrade, it makes it look more aggressive but at the same time more robust and sober. An excellent choice of yours, my friend.
Haha that key was huge! I've always liked the CC and the interior is amazing! The styling of the leather seats is why I secretly want one of these. If only it seated 5....
Great car. I test drove a 2014 CC R-line and was impressed by the car overall.
@iggibars Leatherette actually is leather, it's just treated and sealed. We have leatherette in our 1992 VW Cabriolet Wolfsburg that has 17,000 miles on it. The seats look and feel as if the car were brand new.

@carolitea The R line is a little more sporty it has a different front and rear bumper and side skirts. It also has a little bigger engine that the regular CC.
Same as my car. but my steering wheel looks different - it´s more sporty with thar flat spot on the bottom
Nicely styled car. For those idiots saying they copied MB and their CLS well there's nothing wrong with taking a little inspiration from a great car builder, it means VW respects MB and wants to be like them!

One of the first videos I watched when I started getting into cars
I got an 1997 Oldsmobile 88 base model. 200 HP 3.8L V6, 18 gallon fuel tank. I get 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway on the regular. 20 mpg city if my foot gets heavy. I love my car. I bought it for 2 grand.
I can't believe someone two posts before this one tried to compare a Korean piece of plastic to a Volkswagen.

We're not talking about moisture here, we're talking about air. Leather does not allow air to pass through unless it is perforated. Leather does attract moisture, but at that point, you are already sweating. Real leather does NOT prevent, or stop sweating! Neither does leatherette. It's the perforation that allows breathability of the material, as well as allow the addition of cooled seats. If leather could breather, why wouldn't they use cooled seats on unperforated leather?

@sheelotastic you push em in to adjust the headrest upwards/downwards and/or to remove it... atleast on my regular passat
Those rear lights are brutal but the rest of the car is a beaut.

Hi,I've bought me a couple of months ago in the state of Qatar the same car but with some changes:
rear and front sensors for parking.The car lacks of Bluetooth,the front lock at the Drivers door for the Petrol cap which you've showed in your Video,no sat Radio.

@Jakeman2164, yeah, it's great stuff. The only thing noticeable is that it is JUST slightly on the firmer side when compared to a seat with leather though, I believe it is VW who does that specifically with the seat cushion, and not the leather itself that makes the seat softer.
just came back from my local VW dealership. Sat in this one as well as the Passat SEL 5cyl. Originally I was looking for a GTI Autobahn Come March i plan on getting either the CC r-line or the Passat, either the VR6 or the TDI or the GTI Autobahn. I know Im all over the place,
@TBAnr1Liri In the US, a base Volkswagen CC R-Line starts at $31,560 equipped with the 6-spd DSG. As Immortal is saying save $10k for what I assuming would the the next comparable trim level, the Audi A4 would be priced at $42,000.

Wrong! Leatherette is NOT leather, nor does any part of consist of leather. Leatherette is a form of plastic leather, which is made out of polyurethane that is bonded over a fabric material.
The most beautiful VW to roll out of the factory in the past 10 years IMHO....maybe the Scirocco is on par but it's everybody''s choice

I mean the video presents old version which is called VW passat cc, currently there's a new version which they named just VW CC, I think there's a mistake in the description...hmmm?
finesse! this car's interior and exterior looks much smoother and superb than the Rolls Royce or the Bentley

Good comment. I love Audi A4, but - I am not sure about price difference - RLine will be expensive anyway, but - this one has more personality than usual A4.

volkwagon is nice man.! this car is beautifil! very nice car. cars are getting better by the year huh? im glad i was born i 1996 so i can grow up and see all the new things and stuff they put into cars every single year at the chicago autoshow and out on the street.
Same engine as the one in the GTI which got raving reviews, and car and driver 10 best. the 4 is the model i'll be getting the summer. Surprisingly low cost of ownership as well, about the same as the Honda accord.
This is 1 sleek looking VW...super nice

I do love the looks of this CC. When it first came out I was so in love with the styling of the sloped roof line. When the 2011 SOnata came out I also looked close at it's styling and fell in love. I drove the Sonata 2.0 Turbo 274HP and fell in love. And it gets 74HP more then the CC And better MPG for less money! I am not comparing the handling of the 2 just the other facts. And did I mention heated Rear seats in the Sonata? And this CC has "LEatherette Seating" Fancy word for Vinyl.
@eddox94 well Audi is a part of the Volkswagen Group so of course it's gonna have some Audi features, and vice versa.
I would figure the r line would have vw's 4motion and maybe a 2.5t engine like the new audi tt , I actually seen one of these on the highway in black , so beautiful

reading these comments, all u see is this car needs this that lacking this lacking that, my sonata does this my toyota does that..wtf people are never happy! i got one of these and let me tell you, i am so happy with it! tho i did get the double tone interior with blk and light brown, got rid of the orange front blinkers and replaced them with LED's ;) , installed HID's and boy oh boy...

It's not quite the Pheaton, but nevertheless there's confident styling in and out and the characteristics of well fitting tightness all around. I wonder if it's offered with diesel engine too in North America?

Also, if leather naturally allows air to pass through, how do you suppose they make water canteens out of them? It's just a soft leather that can be folded away, and filled up when needed.

@fanowner12 well considering this car had to travel through like 9 or 10 time zones to this dealership I don't think it would be wise to have the clock set from the factory.
I love my CC. I love starting it in standard mode and leaving peeps at the red light. HAHA
@i10LethalZidane I think he said in his previous update vids he whipped up business cards and samples of hsi videos and goes to dealers.
I'm mystified how my black 2012 CC Sport (which is cheaper than this) has a slightly different head unit. It doesn't have a "Mute" button. Mine says "Phone" instead. The radio screen also looks a touch different.
In Germany its named Passat CC because its based on this. Nice to see a Volkswagen on your channel. Americans seem not to have many of these cars :).
Please keep coming videos with the Jetta and Golf. I also like to see the new Beetle when its on sale.
Sadly our cars in europe are not offered with all these luxury features from the dealer. It seems all standard. If you want such a nice Volkswagon in germany you have to dig down deep in your pocket :)

@GTI6speed and when a car has "R" in the brand model or the sport package, an upgrade in the engine or for whatever reason. and i never said it dosent have the potential to be fast, it just dosent come standard that way. sure aftermarket parts will make it have better performance, but it will take a nice chunck of money and time. and i would much rather have a gti like urs or a golf of some kind, mabye a jetta. but this is a model of VW that is made for fuel econmey and safty

I test drove one of those one week ago, although it was the 1.8 TSI model. Great Car but not perfect tho. The build quality, the mature interior, the searing position are just amazing. And although it was the 1.8 engine, the car surprised me with how fast it accelerates, i believe it has to do with the huge torque of this engine. For me the car has 3 issues : 1st the handling is average, the car doesn't go into curves as agile as it should
@rocketgerm not true - it's direct injection that makes that sound... same with all new cars that have efficient engines
@luxurykid666 yeh 1 millisecond is right, this car has a double clutch system. i reviewed a top o the range passat cc aswel and the deale told me all about it.
I'm a truck guy, but Im making a career change. I need something with rear seats. I can get a nicer truck, but they're so exspensive. I dont want to pay over $10k for a 10 year old truck with 100k miles on when I can get something like this with 20k miles on it. What should I do ?

The idea came from the original Mercedes CLS, hence it kinda looks like it. I've had mine parked from that gen CLS, and it's hard to think which one I'd actually want. The VW has some pretty nice lines.
@TBAnr1Liri well, idk how the Albanian economy is but i did the currency conversion to Leks and it coverts from US dollars to 3,393,926.40 Albanian Leks for the the Volkswagen and 4,516,689.00 Albanian Leks respectively.

@callofduty732 And you made multiple typos in that comment as well. VW isn't marketing a ricer vehicle...they're simply marketing for good fuel economy. Good luck getting 31-32 highway MPG out of a V6.

It's amazing that my Jetta is 12 years old but my engine bay, visors, window/truck/fuel door controls, look almost identical to this CC. I do love the CC though. Trying to talk the wife into replacing her Altima with one.
@chappeltgv Not true the cc vr6 has a 3.6 while the others have a 2.0.
My CC is quite different than this, like the climate control, dynamic damper control, I also realized that all doors have lock and unlock controls, but mine only has it on the driver's door

In my country, our CC R-line only comes with 3.6L V6. Anyway, what's that long beep when you start up your car...? Seat belt warning?
