Still listening & thanks. Can’t believe it’s been ten years since sitting there this glorious day. Times came in handy was really craving that Army of One ty friend
xOrdinary Man Anyone else think 'I'm waiting" is a shitty ripoff of "Johnny Appleseed"? Been listening to Phish for 25 years and never heard them do something like this. .
They’ve just announced summer tour 2024 and I think I will see my first shows ever on this tour. Love seeing these shots of them letting the world know they were back as a band. So glad they’re here with us
Come on Phish! It's been long enough! The masses want an acoustic album! It can be of any sort-old songs,new...we don't give a shit just as long as they exist to let us listen in them one setting !
As a SoCal native I was stunned Phish was having a festy in my backyard (about 1.5 hr drive). I skipped the coffee and donuts to find a nice place to relax and enjoy this set. I’ll never forget it.
This was a Sunday morning, and I remember they had a huge screen (for the times) way in the back showing a NFL game. That's where I had my coffee and donut.
Wow, what an emotional trip this was. I lost it and balled when Secret Smile started. I haven't listened to this set in over a decade and have never seen the video of it. Festival 8 in general, but this set in particular, was such a magical event. I remember sitting on the ground after Secret Smile finished just feeling stunned. I remember looking at all of the people around me and everyone had the same look. Like, we all knew we just witnessed something very special and were all trying to emotionally process it. Everyone around me seemed unable to move from that spot...people just sitting there for what seemed like an eternity with blank, stunned looks on their faces and in silent contemplation on what we'd just experienced. I've been to a lot of shows before and since but have never experienced anything like it. Thank you for posting this.
My big brother Scott and me won tickets to Festival 8 from a radio show. We drove down from SLO. Camped out in style. Sold brownies to support myself that weekend. I didn’t realize how good the acoustic set was until years later. Happy to have been there.
Couldn’t agree more! Out of 128 shows over the last 23 years, this set is one of my best memories. Their playing was awesome, their voices sounded amazing, the weather was beautiful, the setting just perfect, and the fact that we got to hear so many acoustic songs played. Legendary moment in phishtory
Holy shit, I remember this. This was one of the only times a song had moved me to tears... I love this song and this was my first concert of theirs. Won't ever forget it, thank you for posting this!!!

i remember it being hot and not getting a donut, they were out... what a nice weekend tho great spot for show. maybe too hot during coachella or overcrowded, but this weekendcwas great
I also missed out on the doughnut, since they ran out. But yeah it was so hot during this set. Oddly enough when we got there Thursday night/Friday am, it was fucking freezing cold, but ended up getting warmer each day
for the guitar nerds out there....what is the tuning for BOTT? Open D? I think the capo is on 5 but the vid quality is low so I'm not 100%. Please help.
It’s funny cause the first night we got there, I guess early Friday morning like 2am it was so cold, but each day/night got progressively warmer and by this set Sunday afternoon it was cooking out there. Such an awesome weekend that I feel gets overlooked and deserves more attention...especially this magical acoustic set
I was at this. Everyone was standing waiting for the band to show up. When they did show up Trey thought it would be better if we all sat down. I think he was right except for the fact that the one guy who was in a wheelchair was right in front of me. He had no view when we were standing. So I guess he was stoked but I got screwed. Nice set though.

Man that was such a fun set/day. - it was so darn crazy seeing Phish live at noon
Long before The Baker's Dozen, the boys from Vermont were giving out doughnuts.
This was hands down my favorite phish event I ever went to in 23 years!
This footage is legendary!

I’m not sure we realized just how special this set was at the time. So grateful to have been there
Have been lobbying for another SoCal festy ever since
I second that emotion

Such a special set given the backdrop of Trey’s healing and everything they’ve been through together. Love these guys.

@17:35.. huge phish fan, but Paige is basically playing Johnny Appleseed here. Shoulda just covered it and trashed this song.
