I was fortunate enough to spend a week on Clear Lake, in California and witness the lake turn over.. I kept describing it as the bottom became the surface! I cannot wait to go back and catch the beginnings of the fall feed

Here in central California we had a few nice days where the bass were so confused. With patience and persistence I’m still able to get them to bite despite our bipolar weather. I don’t know why I haven’t subscribed but I’m sure glad I did. So much valuable information you have provided with great energy. Appreciate you Mike. Thank you.

Mike Ike lake Champlain reporting here this has been one the most dialed in , in tune perfectly times episodes yet perfect perfect job man seriously explains the ( fall pollin it’s not it’s the bottom turning up …… explains why the weeds stink like that )

Good example is winter to spring... That pollen lol. All that bottom rotten stuff mixing does make it rough for fish as they are filtering it through their gills. My experience, they move to inflow if fresh water where water is cleaner and clearer... It coincide with your other video where you broken down fall fishing is 3 stages..

Ya know Ike,I've heard anglers speak on the "turnover" being difficult but I wasn't prepared for just how difficult it is...I haven't caught a bass in about 3 weeks and my fishery produced phenomenally well (I caught 2 PBs in Aug). As the bass bite is completely gone, the musky bite has been absolutely insane! But now they won't even bite...my lake is completely dead💀💀💀

So im expecting the lakes to turnover this week

Stop yelling at me! ... :) Just kidding. I think this very thing just happened on my home lake. We've had a fairly sudden temperature drop and it was also super windy the day I was out. I was scuffling hard trying to get anything going. Finally, I went up to the high end of the lake and started fishing the shoreline. I accidentally got blown right next to the shoreline and before I bugged out, I saw an underwater shelf, that was completed shaded underneath. I grabbed my Texas Rig rod and flipped a worm in there from about 10 feet. Soon as it hit the shade line, a Spotty blasted it. (Guarantee it was a Spotty with a "headache") And then it was game on. I had about an hour of time left before needing to get out of there and caught 15 more. It turned what had been a very surprisingly unsuccessful day on my Go To lake into a blast! And it was like you were describing exactly what I did...Only I did it accidentally and without any specific intention. All pure luck. Thanks for your insight Mike!

They should all turnover for the most part! Smaller ponds that are shallow might only take a day or two or not even turnover due to being so shallow

@@mikeiaconellifishing Thanks! I fish ponds and really small man made lakes for the time being. They’ve been biting somewhat well still, but it seems to change by the day and almost by the hour as to what they’ll bite and where haha. I got on a spot last night and caught 3 within like 10 casts on a swim jig and then nothing the rest of the night 😂
