- Shelby. It's a word that provokes a sense of performance. Most of us have owned or know somebody who has owned a @Ford Motor Company #mustang. Today, we take a collection tour with Gary Thomas, owner of one of the, if not the, best Shelby car collection in the world. Gary's collection includes, Mustangs, hot rods, ford hypercar and supercars, and other Ford performance cars.

The #Ford Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964, the Mustang is currently the longest-produced Ford car nameplate. Currently in its sixth generation, it is the fifth-best selling Ford car nameplate. The namesake of the "pony car" automobile segment, the Mustang was developed as a highly styled line of sporty coupes and convertibles derived from existing model lines.
Originally predicted to sell 100,000 vehicles yearly, the 1965 Mustang became the most successful vehicle launch since the 1927 Model A. Introduced on April 17, 1964 (16 days after the Plymouth Barracuda), over 400,000 units in its first year; the one-millionth Mustang was sold within two years of its launch.
The success of the Mustang launch led to multiple competitors from other American manufacturers, including the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (1967), AMC Javelin (1968), and Dodge Challenger[9](1970). The Mustang also had an effect on designs of coupés worldwide, leading to the marketing of the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri in the United States.
Through its production, multiple nameplates have been associated with the Ford Mustang series, including GT, Mach 1, Boss 302/429, Cobra (separate from Shelby Cobra), and Bullitt, along with "5.0" fender badging (denoting 4.9 L OHV or 5.0 L DOHC V8 engines).

Global garages is the best series I've ever watched i love all these beautiful collections
True
Wow, thanks! We really appreciate you watching.
Wow, what a collection! ... Gary is probably the last guy that needed to win a raffle.
Rich guy "wins"
He was the right guy to win the raffle.
Being a Ford guy for 50 years & having the pleasure of owning several high performance Fords & one Mercury Cyclone 428CJ, videos like this really does me good! I love it!❤
Man i love how he remembers every single detail about the cars and what makes them special. And not to mention the collection i would be honored to have a piece of. Truly amazing
This man is living in my dream world and proves why I'm such a ford guy always have been always will be
His collection of Boss 429 Mustangs! My Goodness!
Wow, what a collection!
I love listening to Gary's back story on each car, thank you, Gary and Petersen Automotive! :)
Texans love their automobile and they know how to take care of them
Thank you for sharing your collection with us.
I'm glad he won the cobra! I'd like to thank him for saving all these cars
Again, an jaw dropping collection of Ford’s. 😎👍🇨🇦
Wait , this guy won the Cobra, there is no such a thing as fairness in this world. Amazing collection , hope it’s a museum one day.
The Cobra request to be with him actually
'Probably bought more than one ticket-though even if he bought a thousand, it's still like rolling doubles.
Gary ,nice collection Sir. I met you in 2006 or 7 at the NRG Show. You were building your current facility to house your collection locally instead of WTexas. Incredible Collection…much thanks to the Petersen Group for the virtual tours and much more to you for graciously sharing it with all of us! 👍
Awesome collection!! Thanks for sharing!
Been a Boss guy myself that is one impressive collection, well done and good for you. I'd luv to visit and view one day....PS: winning that movie Cobra is fantastic, its not luck, you just have to be in to win.
Just keep getting better…. What a collection……
I agree Mark!
Would love one of those Boss cars. Great collection.
Me too!
I’ve always been a Ford guy...my oldest son as well...thank you so much for sharing this video!
I had the dump truck model of your first car. It ran Great.
Very very well done Gary, what an achievement! Incredible collection. Admire your dedication and passion 👍🏻👊🏻
You mentioned that the 1964 1/2 pace car is a standard shift. When the camera panned around to the interior it revealed the car is an automatic.
Some of those cars came with a t handle shifter for a manual transmission it looks like the automatic shifter almost.
Love his voice and demeanor. He sounds very presidential. This is great collection. I wish I had a Mustang collection like this. I saw a red Ford GT in the video. I am sad nothing was said about that.
Great vid, really enjoyed!!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@PetersenMuseum 👍😉
Beautiful collection just amazing
Sweet!
Omg mind blowing
Awesome Collection. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
@@PetersenMuseumBEAUTIFUL CAR COLLECTION BUT I DON'T UNDERTAND WHY WOULD YOU HAVE 4 OR 5 BOSS 429 LOL BUT I GUESS IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY AND A PLACE TO PUT THEM LOL WHY NOT.
My first drive was a 8N ford glad to know there are more than I.
Beautiful collection (can’t help but wish the cobra winning raffle car went to someone that didn’t have a huge collection already like that
That's because all those give aways are rigged so the wealthy with collections can get it .. forget the little guy who dreams
The winner buys the most raffle tickets.
Best bet wins
@@missingremote4388 I'm sure that is how it is sure whatever you say.
Just incredible.
Like this guy needs a free Cobra....
Love these ponys! The one you need to add is the Black Zombie 222 Mustang (the one that broke Carrol Shelbys 1 mile record..
WOW! Is he adopting? I already have Thomas in my name and can drive a stickshift.
9:09 l really love this one. It is a dream car.
I 'almost' wish that my worst enemy won the Cobra ; ( but, good for him (great collector) : )
So, what was wrong with the engine on the Grabber Orange car?
Was it an easy fix?
Learning to drive on a tractor, he sure did find his way to the Fast Ford's. The Ford Gods knew where the movie car belonged Guessing from the Folger drag car story this collection is in Texas..
I just wanna cry !!!!!!
*That's Quite a FORD Collection!!* 😂😂
I want a tour of his collection!
Can't wait to hear his accent
YES SIR that's fine taste in muscle car choice. i had a 1969 Ford Torino GT 428scj i bought from original owners wife ( Mr had passed) had 32,000 original miles still looked like it sat in showroom floor
He's a Ford Hoarder.
Thats the kind of broke I wanna be.
Magnificent beyond brilliant 👏 ✍💫💨🌐🌍🤗🙌😇🆔️🎖👀👁
Thank you! Cheers!
Would love to own a Boss Mustang
_Your a very nice man .._
Thank you ..
A wonderful collection of important Ford's for sure, but more than any one man should own. It should become a museum some day.
Our fingers are crossed ;)
If the man can afford them & has the space to properly store them, then he has the right to own however many he wants! I've seen other car collections that are far bigger than this one!
I would never ever ever sell a Boss 429. I might sell any other car I own, maybe, but never a boss 9. In fact, some day, when I make the money - and I will - I will buy a restored 1969 Boss 429 and drive it every damn day. Resale value be damned.
❤❤❤❤❤🤩🤩🤩✌✌
This is insane. I wonder what he did for a living? Some day there will be a huge auction and this whole collection will be broken up and sold. Who wouldn't want just 1 of these cars?
I think I went to High School with this mans son back in the 80s.
Is your collection available to be viewed by public?
Geez he has like around a dozen boss429s .
Somebody pinch me...
I think I died and went to Heaven!🥰
What does he do for a living?! I can't even afford one!
was there just 1 boss shelby ?
Soooo Gary im curious, what's your plan of these pieces of history, after you leave earth?
There's alot of poor families out there you could donate multiple of those life changing time pieces to, just a thought my friend😁!
Such an awesome collection. Just a bit (a lot), pissed to see a 32 FORD with a Shitrolet engine between the chassis rails. He can do whatever he wants of course, but NO FORD of mine would EVER have a BASTARD engine from another; especially the main opposition !!
And further in, I see more BASTARD 32s, which would get Fabulous Fords in 'em in my world. Sheesh, it was Uncle Henry that gave the world the mass-produced V8 in the 32s, in the first place; so why do puss nuts put puss in them when there's a plethora of great FORD 8's to slot in. If I was ole Henry, I'd be ghosting those slackers !! I get REALLY BENT OUT OF SHAPE ON THIS ISSUE !!!
Dudes got millions in cobras and wins one? Seems like the world does suck
Yeah, that was all a publicity stunt I'm pretty sure, nobody just gives that car away. But it's a nice story.
Ohhh... that's where all the fastbacks went to.
Let someone else get some cars.
yeah, like you need a "free" Shelby Cobra ... Im sorry thats just greedy !
Like you would turn it down if you were him?? B.S.!!
@@Mike583 I would not have entered the contest ... his greed robbed someone of a life changing event !
Such a shame. All those beautiful bosses just sitting being hoarded. 😔 every one should be in a museum or on the road.
They’re literally sitting in a museum.
….has the nicest car collection in Texas and wins a Cobra………I sense a disruption in the force……..🤔
Newsflash man with $1 million plus collection of mustang wins the cobra
Just the Boss Nines (how many again?) are close to 2 mils!😂
Ditch that small block Chevy in that frame and put a ford engine in it
Survey:
Do u think it's right to indulge yourself this much when there are broken heart parents around the country/world who can't afford to feed their kids ?
YES OR NO....
Yes
Loved his collection until he said he had Chevy motor in some of those 32s. A real Ford man wouldn’t even have it in his collection.
p00r People Buy L0tt0 Tickets, n0t the RiCH !!
U shud put the europe Ford of same time and era plus the Aussie's Ford of same time and era as to educate the public that FORD ain't polarized like half of US culture from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
funny how all these guys with big money win these cars. hmmmmmm
Sure he was the lucky winner
I'm sorry but they just don't give that kind of car away to nobody.
Cooooool to see some historical Mustangs. But a hardcore Ford guy would not allow a Chevy engine to be mounted in any Ford, no matter how cool.
It is hard to find pure anymore. There will always be that Chevy small block that the cheap simpletons use, that creeps its way into the Ford arena!
I usually see some great old Fords of the 30s and 40s, but they have that little Judas motor winking at you! Surprise, Surprise! Shazam!
A Boss 351 engine has a hotrod appearance and beauty greater than any I have seen in over 60 years! Sorry man! I just don't like potato head cars and never will.
I did love the 32 pickups!!! Pure as can be. I would like to find shabby one for a daily driver some day!
Hey man! All in fun from a die hard Ford guy! GOD BLESS YOU ALL..................JAZZIFIED IN JESUS! =KL=
PS Would have been great to have won that Cobra for myself. But, It is probably best that he won it so we all can go and take a peek at it someday.
It is best for it to be inside the museum and preserved by someone who knows how. Just say'in!
Looks like he is hiding some Cushman's in the back room too!
=KL=
Does he drive any of these, or are they just wasting space in a luxurious warehouse?
'Mentioned he'd driven the one to California several times?
I was fortunate enough to see this collection in person earlier this year, and every single we asked if Gary could fire it up was ready to roll and be driven.
This guy says little, a little too much
