In this JavaScript tutorial, we'll dive into the world of geometric algorithms as I show you how to calculate the distance between a point and a segment. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced coder, I'll break down the math behind this essential calculation and guide you through the process of implementing it in JavaScript step by step.
To figure out this formula we use concepts like 2D vectors and linear interpolation. If you have trouble with those, please watch these videos first:

I'm so happy that you got a sponsorship! This is definetly the channel to sponsor from Brilliant! Your explanations and ideas are really well done, so it's really easy to follow along!
Thank you :-)
Your channel deserves exponentially more subscribers and viewers. Must be that the community just hasn’t yet stumbled across this absolute gold mine of content. Thank you so much for these videos Radu. Hoping that the well deserved riches come your way soon!
:-)) thanks
But it's OK. Bigger channels have their downsides as well. Like, I don't think I can keep up replying to all comments for much longer.
Addicted to this channel, because of coding practices, wide range of challenging projects from scratch. Thank You Sir!!!!!! I have seen many channels with low quality content having high subscribers and revenue, but this channels deserves millions of subscribers for his work.
Glad to hear you're learning :-)
wow radu my dude this is so so cool!!! you're truly awesome. let me just sing the intro tune to express my gratitude. "gonna code and debug and have fun, coding with radu, gonna prototype and design, coding with radu."
Thanks :-D
Impressive Explanation, I really started grasping math and using it to solve many problems in current and past projects, I really thank you Radu
Glad it helped! :-)
I have so much to catch up with. I wish one day I can be half as good as you are.
It's not a race :-)
It was very good. I could perfectly understand an idea.😁👍
Happy to hear!
Radu and Brilliant together are like when Goku and Vegeta fuse to become Gogeta! The best combination ever!
Yeee! Maybe it lasts more than 30 minutes, though ;-)
thanks Radu, i had a lot of fun watching the video
Good :-)
thanks, thats what i was looking for, would u plz make an educational mathmatic game help kidds to get circle theory for example
I do have this video ruclips.net/video/CFBa2ezTQJQ/видео.html
There's an app that goes with it as well, but I wouldn't exactly call it a game :-)
Congratulations on the sponsorship!
🎉
Good 👍
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks :-)
amazing
Thanks
Create a content video of the ai like chat gpt show as how we will to create it with JavaScript without libraries
To get something that really works well, I would need to find a lot of good quality data to train the system. It's not enough to write the code... I rarely make videos like that (in my ML course I collected data from viewers).
many told me to pay attention in high school algebra/geometry... if only I listened.
Unfortunately, it's not obvious at that age why those things are useful...
Couldn´t get the starting codepen to work and ended up trying to do it on my own before watching the video, it works, but it ended up being an unoptimized mess :(

It's awesome :-D
