That is one reason people left catholic faith, they dont want to be reminded of suffering and sacrifice every sunday. Most believer want to be fed of the fantasies that life is like a fairy tale where everything is awesome, good things always happens, and they are going to be rich, successful, free from responsibilities and happy and all they have to do is to accept jesus as their personal lord and savior and give back 10% of income to the church/God. I've been there and went back to catholic faith.
6:03 As I recall, the Ecclesial usage of presbyteros is not the first time the word is used without primary reference to age. In Homer, as I recall (years and decades after reading him) the diplomats were called "presbeis" = "olds" ... (singular : "presbys")
coming from a so-called poor country, the word "suffering" is not so much heard of in the homilies because everyone knows they are rich in suffering. that is, a presbyter will not say, "you should suffer!!!", it is invalid in our culture. however, suffering in homilies is correlated to being good, to suppress anger, to suppress the need for revenge, to offer every pain experienced to God, to follow the teachings of Christ - to love. to LOVE is perhaps the hardest among His teachings when you always suspect your neighbors to be opportunists, to have the most evil intentions. loving someone, offering charity to lazy people, offering yourself when you yourself have none is suffering.
Yeah bit of a problem, the old suffering part of the message........ The main message we hear these days is You only have one life so make the best of it while you can. It's the same message as Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. The implication of course is if you don't get to eat and drink and be merry you have no life.... soul destoying
@@arthurcullen4956 Did you not listen to the opening? Through many tribulations we must enter heaven. If you want to enter heaven be prepared to suffer. I don't know what you mean by live each day but Paul is saying suffer each day. Go tell all your friends to come and live suffering each day and see how far you get.
For those who are bickering about TRUTH will finally understand the teaching of the Church which Jesus started, with Peter the first pope, after the illumination of conscience...STANDBY!
For those who has good job, good children, good married life, good everything.... God is Great. Suffering is good for our salvation.... Those of us who are penniless, horrible married life..... This is the end of the line for us. Where is God?
It's possible to go to extremes and overdo anything. What about hitting a happy medium? Everything in moderation. There is no equality or Christianity in going to extremes. What about peace, hope and justice for all?
That's mostly every christian, when you think about it. Almost everybody believes in the gospel according to themselves. To the actual theme of the video. While a Catholic cannot count on escaping suffering, very clearly it is also not the place of a presbyter to appoint suffering to someone except if he demands penance (and how much one actually suffers from a penance varies) or as a punishment for canonic crimes. When I see what seem to be Catholic cotteries of priests talking about me, or rather see probable effects of their talk in my situation, or in stats of my blogs, and they seem to be saying "Hans Georg Lundahl hasn't got it that Catholics have to suffer, so he needs to suffer a bit, so we cannot humour his whims" perhaps they might be wrong and they might be imposing like another decade of unnecessary suffering ... and my whims might be reasonable if I get to defend them. Now, somewhere in the Apocalypse there is sth about a community which is purple and scarlet - and these are both the liturgic colours for suffering (penance and martyrdom) ... where exactly was that? I think the other liturgic colours were not mentioned, except a lack of black, indirectly ...

It is exactly shown as you believe you are following the Holy Spirit only, you are not. Read the New Testament and ask yourself what does Paul expect of believers? Why is there a need for church? The entire New Testament contradicts the me and Jesus option. If you believe a spirit is negating the Bible you have the wrong spirit or you are closed to what the spirit is really telling you.
