Great review. My dad anxiety was triggered by the proximity of the monitor to the edge of the table :)

Great video. Regarding the 240Hz 1440p combo, this will work great with the new 3080/3090 NVIDIA cards. I saw today a video by streamer Aculite where he plays Warzone with this setup with 200+ FPS so i guess there is a market for it.
    Cheers!

Poor input lag seems like quite a strange weakness for a monitor with such a spec to have 🤔

Black level smearing on VAs ruins the competitive FPS experience for me. So I have to go IPS and settle on 144 Hz or go TN and have all of the FPS!
Not arsed about viewing angles. My preferences are: 120 Hz +, 1440p +, 27" +, in that order. I've been through a couple of VA 1440p/144 Hz panels in the past few weeks and keep on coming back to my 1080p/144 Hz - it just plays better.
I'm hoping the GL850 on it's way to me will finally get me playing on 1440p.

Rtx3080 at low or comp settings will do 1440p 240fps

3060Ti w/Ryzen 5600x will get you 1440p 240 fps if you optimise properly

Any input on 1440p high refresh gaming? I'm asking because of the lackluster 1440p performance of the 3080: in the sense that it's not that great of an improvement to a 2080ti on 1440p, only on 4k you feel the boost. Cheers mate, great content

I think the 1440p difference is that it's the same (or better) performance, for half the price. So, with that kind of performance becoming more available, high refresh rate 1440p makes even more sense. AFAIK the reason you see bigger gains at 4K is CPU bottleneck, so 4th gen Ryzen can't come soon enough.

@@TechteamGB thought as much. But that says a lot about how fast the new 3080 is that it can bottleneck a 10900k. Jesus. It's a great time to be a gamer/tech enthusiast.
You're still criminally underrated but I'm sure you'll take off soon enough. Cheers.

About your question who is it for - competitive gamers that wants higher resolution. With some good hardware you can achieve QHD@240 FPS with no issues. I am also a software developer. Does not require that good color accuracy, but while not gaming I need higher res for my dev environment.

Sticking with my AOC CU34G2X 34" 144hz 1ms 3440x1440p Ultrawide you reviewed earlier this year that I got for $470. Paired with an MSI GAMING X 2070 Super and a 3900x I run most games between 90 - 144 FPS on high settings. Looks incredible.

I have a 4k 144hz Predator XB3 and after I bought the Lenovo 1440p 240hz and it is by FAR the best thing ever. I love how people think 240hz is not worth it or there is not a big difference from 144hz

    • @ArizerExtreme
      @ArizerExtreme 2 года назад

I think some people dont see the difference because they are a lil bit slower reaction time so they doesn't notice

In conclusion, should I buy the Aorus FI27Q-P OR THIS ONE? 165 VS 240HZ, noticible difference?

Does this monitor (240hz 27‘ 1440p) with premium free sync also supports g sync compatible?

Respectfully testing and passing judgement on input lag only at 1080p 60hz isn't ideal. Not many will buy at 240hz 1440p monitor to play at that res and frame rate.

      Just play 1080p at 240fps, and 1440p og 120FPS😂

You get the 180-220 FPS in a competitive shooter game like valorant, csgo, apex, fortnite, etc. in 1440p medium settings, if you have a very massive PC, for example an rtx3080 ryzen9 3900x 32gb 3200mhz ram

your results are really different compared to the tftcentral ones (wich is a very influential reviewer) can u explain why? Expecially in input lag... I even got one of these monitor, and by my experience there's no overshoot at all and inputlag is almost absent

I'm pondering a monitor upgrade soon but mainly for work reasons rather than gaming, so I probably can't justify something like this. Good review though 👍

    Me orders a 1440p 144Hz monitor
AOC with this monitor: So you have chosen regret.
Would have preferred VA panel though.

I think 1440p 144Hz is the ideal middle ground, better than my 1080p 240Hz IPS or my 4K 120Hz TV for PC gaming. We'll need stronger GPUs for proper 4K 120Hz gaming, and 1080p 240Hz could be a tad more detailed. Still prefer 240Hz overall for Doom Eternal, but eh.

if u are going for a 1440p, you care about the fidelity and overall color quality, which this won't deliver, as it's a tn panel...

  • @FesteringRatSub

I use a TN panel, who in the world would not sit perfectly front on to it? This is a stupid comment

The deal breaker for me was the fact that its a TN panel. Disgusting. Viotek sells a 240hx 1440p monitor for 320 dollars. buy that
