Lucio Antonio Carbone is not only a great guitar maker but a wonderful person. When I was studying guitar in Milan in the late 1990s, my guitar needed work and a friend recommended Mr. Carbone. I went to his shop and he was there with one of the guitar professors from the conservatory from where I was studying. He did the work on my guitar while we chatted about music and Italy. He ordered tea and dolce from next door and we spent a good while of the afternoon enjoying the tea and talking about all types of wonderful topics. When it was time to leave, I asked what I owed him for the work and he said "Nothing". I insisted but he would not hear of it. That to this day, is one of my fondest memories of my time there. He is a true gentleman.
I play a Redgate double top (2019). It is absolutely brilliant - clarity, volume, separation, tone. Listeners confirm this, every time. Jim Redgate is a genius.
And Vidovic has not found a replacement after all these years huh? I thought his guitars were more expensive, since he has such a visible and famous client.
the vailati guitar had a great appeal for me - the sustail and the separation of the tones. wow! what was the piece that you played last in this segment?
I'm a beginner but I like the first guitar because it sounds warm and the sound hole is deep and a little echo in it. Guitar #2 was more rigid and concert like almost like a steel string acoustic. Guitar #3 seemed like a little of #1 and #2. The Marin Guitars are great and Spanish all the way.
I "contacted" Vincent Hummel to order a guitar ,about two weeks ago. Never answered ! Siccas Guitars should only promote guitars by luthiers who are willing to do serious business.
In answer to how to make a decision. Maybe apply the solution to the "secretary problem" from decision theory; in words the chances that the best one after x have been played is the best overall, in maths P(x)=-x*ln(x). If intend to try 10 guitars, then after you've played 4, take the next one that's better than the best of the initial 4 (and stop!). Happy Xmas!
First guitar sounded bad. I really liked the Redgate, and I seldom like double tops (like the first awfully nasal sounding guitar). Liked the rest of them as well, especially the Carbone Hauser.

The Marin rosewood and Vailati are my two favorites of the guitars this week, both lovely!
I loved the Schubert on the Carbone!

I'm impressed with the Jim Redgate guitar.

mixing such a nauseating subject as math with the beauty of music makes me want to puke.
@@claudiosolaresMMX I didn't know I possessed such power to upset folks so!
@@selfTaughtGirl sorry sweetie! I hate math.. lol..
