Btw his nickname was Alex and he used to be in 3D clan for a while. So he was Alex[3D]. As far as I remember he played vs you kinda often.

Make a cool army, make sure your base is always protected when you are not around(what even is a town portal?), don't expand just in case he kills your expansion, use the campaign heroes as much as possible. XD

I was thinking of getting into WC3 because I played it when I was 5 in 2008 and haven't played it since then. I played my first game in 15 years the other day and realized that 5 year old me might have been better than 20 year old me now. How do I get back into this game without getting steamrolled by the lowest of low mmr players on the ladder?

As someone with no competitive history at all in RTS games they just look so impenetrable. I'd have no idea where to begin trying to learn these kinds of games for PvP.
Young Grubby was a straight up chad and still is today.
Grubby what you say about my strategy?
I go alter + borrow + shop then blade master - buy all shop and rush to the enemy, I target the hero unless its night elf then I target the archers, while making barracks and another borrow, I then make some grunts and after 2-3 grunts I make warmill and hunters, I always upgrade armor + attack and then I tier up slowly, repeat I sometimes make spirit taurens if needed, but mostly go full head hunters + shadow priest
The problem with depending upon Purge for dispel (in addition to the damage it does to yourself) is that it won't work on Cyclone (can't attack a Cycloned unit). So you have to end the game really fast, which is what Grubby did.
if i could sub 9000 more times i would... would be cool to see you and sky deal some pain.

I saw your rant on upkeep. Upkeep is such a good mechanic. It blows my mind that those idiots at frostgiant don't acknowledge it, but then again they're ex-blizzard and when has blizzard ever done a good choice in the past 15 years...
Anyway, I never associated the sound with anything else other than information. I don't understand why would anyone think it means something bad? The opponent has it as well and you can use it to do clever stuff with it.
The strat may be old, but it's still gold 👌
I never understood why damage says 18-21...is every hit a random #, or what determines the unit to attack full damage?
I remember I played the exact opposite build back then... Farseer+TC into mass casters, sometimes a tauren but I dont think I ever built a single HH

its not definately shockwave against talons, its the shockwave in 2004. Try using stomp skill in Azeroth with 300ms or Northerend 75-100ms😅

i had the same thought in the intro. people were already playing and countering mass dotts in 2004 but the best orc player was still playing like it was day 1 reign of chaos? a year into tft people "still weren't creeping the map"? i think he's got alzheimers in this one. aside from optimization the strats of then weren't that different
