I love this video! As an 11 year old playing for the first time, this was really helpful. But I would like it if you could tell me what notes I'm playing.
Thank you for the lesson! If you make lessons again, I'd suggest a lesson where you'd place the camera in a way that we could see the lips aperture for different notes and registers. For instance, the low C, the low G, medium E and so on. For a beginner, it's difficult to know if we're opening too much, or not enough. I've seen many videos about embouchure, but the actual aperture isn't shown in a close up. Thank you!
Thank you sooo much! I had just gotten my flute and this video really helped me! (I'm just a student, doing it because I was required to, and I wanted to choose this flute! It made me subscribe!
Thanks so much Lance! I had a concert coming up a few days ago. I didn’t know how to play 3-1-2 which was the order of what we will be doing. You just taught me Bb, G, and A! Thanks so much! I got a full 100% on my concert, I can’t thank you more!
Great question! For absolute beginners with no music reading experience, I find it easier to start with numbers. It gets people playing immediately and then they can learn to associate with the letters and music.
I can hit the high notes on a recorder and play ok but I can't play a single note on the flute. The head joint on my mendini doesn't have a cork that moves for tuning. I can sometimes get the head joint to whistle by itself but when I try the notes it's not the notes. A half ass note sometimes. Usually there is nothing but air. Could it be a defective flute? I saw where the mendini sometimes needed to be adjusted. Maybe there is a bad seal somewhere. I think this flute is bad. I had it in storage before I tried it but now it's past the return date. I think I'll try a clarinet instead cause it's like a recorder. I'll probably give up on the flute. I hate fighting with instruments. I like piano for that reason. U push the key and the rest the piano does

Thanks so much Lance. I've had my flute for 4 days and you have taught me how to play some notes. I am completely amazed. You are the best teacher.
Awesome! Thanks, Jill, and happy practicing!
Thank you Lance, I like your persona and kind spirit. It works for me for the first time player at 67 years young.

WHEN WILL YOU KEEP 4LESSON
Hi, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. The next lesson will come out on Saturday morning. Thanks for watching!
Can you try a eastar flute theres cupronickel and silver 70-100 dollars on the eastar website and free shipping
I will keep Eastar in mind for the future. I know it is popular and would be great to compare against Mendini and Glory. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@LanceSuzuki ive been interested in it for a while but i dont know if I should get it ive only seen the efl-1 get reviewed not the 2
Ok but what are the name of them? I want to start reading notation.
My note 3 isn’t working and I don’t know why 😅😭
I just can’t do 3 😅😭
I'm having an easier time getting the higher octave of the note.
To get the lower octave, try opening your lips and mouth a bit and relaxing the air. Happy practicing!
@@LanceSuzuki One of my pads was leaking. That's what I get for buying a $46 flute. Fixed it. It's easy now.
Can I get a name because I’m in my first band and I don’t these 🤨
All I know is
D C B
1= B. 2=A. 3=G
Why are you using numbers and not letters
