    Thanks for the memories. I lived in llandod for several years. This video incorporated so much and so much of the streets and features of Llandod - that it felt like being taken on a real journey. Again: thanks for taking the time and effort.

    This is a blast from the past I used the live there back in the 80's. It hasn't changed much apart from the likes of Tesco's. Lots of happy memories. Thanks for taking me back in time.

      I can't recall a chippy on Park Crescent, I was about Llandod during that period. A long time ago though, the Cantonese is still there though. You remember the La Roma cafe?

    Thanks for posting. I plan to stop in Llandrindod for a bite to eat on my way from Scotland to Cornwall in July. I like the victorian architecture, makes the place look a lot larger than it is, population wise.

    Lovely vid, LW is a strange? place, in the middle of the country, miles & miles from anywhere, but it has loads of big buildings feels like your are in a big city?

      You've summed up LW spot on, it has a wierd charm. No as good as it used to 20yrs ago but still ok.

      It was a Victorian spa town, so the buildings were built as guest houses and hotels. That's why they are all so big and fancy.

    • @WelshRob1964
      @WelshRob1964  Год назад

      @@bertspeggly4428 It was indeed a spa town hence the Wells name but a lot of it was Edwardian built. It was still alive between the wars and big in aviation believe it or not, that's why the Auto Palace has Aircraft upon it. The town boomed again in WW2, though the Metropole hotel were convinced we would loose and sold everything, I wish we still had the furniture that was bought at the auction from there. The town was dead for many years after the war and when I moved there it was a ghost town and could literally play in Temple St, try that now lol. Powys County Council HQ is what boosted it back. Llandod is a town that really shouldn't exist but somehow just does lol.
