We need an ardent promoter of clean renewable energy in the congress and senate to be able to push for electrification laws in motor vehicles. Incentives to those who would invest on charging infrastructure for all types of ports would be a great start. Provide tax breaks as well for car companies selling EVs.
Pilipinas tayo bulok systema dito. Daming inventor na pinoy hindi sinusuportahan ng gobyerno. Yang mga corrupt na tao sa gobyerno dpat sa mga yan binabaril sa ulo.
The electrification of vehicle is a business move. It won't save the environment since electric vehicles would need lots of Lithium mining which in turns would require lots of diesel run mining vehicles and trucks. It's a scam.
It would be nice if fully-electric vehicles can get tax breaks or tax exemptions to make them cheaper and become adapted faster locally. As well as better infrastructure support, meaning more charging stations.
Atm for EVs you'd be better off having your own fast charger installed at home. Also for someone who regularly travels to a city 300kms away the range of the leaf is cutting it close. This is great for short rides though 😍
One of a problem i see here is the charging location. Some ev's have their charging ports in the front which is the most common areas for minor accidents. Just imagine getting in a "managable" accident and instead of just having the front bumper repaired, but as well as its charging port.
Some corrections about him saying that the chargers are proprietary to Nissan: the leaf that his reviewing uses the SAE J1772 electrical connection for level 1 (low power from a household wall outlet) and level 2 (similar to an electric dryer) charging which is a standard for most North American EVs and Japan, while the other one is called a Chademo for level 3 DC fast charging that was developed in Japan, but not as widespread globally.
...and ChaDeMo is about to get obsolete. and that is why Nissan Leaf if getting a bit of a hate in abroad kasi lahat halos CCS2 (Combo) and/or Tesla Proprietary port na sila ChaDeMo pa din. And that kinda sucks IMHO. hopefully they ditch the ChaDeMo or Nissan Ariya.
You can buy a J1772 Type 1 to Type 2 adaptor to solve the issue of adaptor compatibility although it’s a bummer to have this kind of jumble of standard. I really hope that the government invest heavily and promote EV in the PH.
I assume this Leaf is an X variant (16" alloys), I hope you can try the G variant too, it has better features like 17" alloys, and Pro-Pilot. Soon, PH roads will have more EVs to come, especially that Nissan Ariya. Thank you for this upload.
no. not in the near future. more hybrids - yes, but not full EVs. they're too expensive for Filipinos. the gas savings you get would be offset by the price of the vehicle.
The e-pedal probably activates the regenerative braking so it helps improve range. I'm not sure about it though. By now there will be owners who can comment on this. I'm interested in getting one do would like to know too.
I love EVs, but the features you get for the price is a real deal breaker for me. The price which is close to 50k USD could buy you a Tesla Model 3 in the US (I know that cars are much more expensive here in the Philippines, but this is too much).
Not even that but for 2.8M I'd rather buy a gas honda/toyota that has WAY more features at the 1.2-1.5 peso mark, saving the 1.2M for gas and the time it takes to charge.
@@manuelmacalinao500 Ang Ford Cars/Mustang ay ginagawa mismo sa states. Hindi mo pwede icompare yung price nyan sa States at dito satin lalo na't napakalayo ng US sa Pinas. Shipping Cost palang ng ford from US to PH eh mahal na talaga. Common sense.
Intay lang tayo mga 8-10 years pag na mass produced yan “SANA” bumaba ang price since may mga countries na starting year 2030 or 2035 electric vehicles and hybrid nalang ang ibebentang brand new, wala ng pure fossil powered (gas/diesel) car na ibebentang brand new, sa ibang bansa ah, syempre hindi ko pa alam sa pinas kung magpapatupad ng ganyan. Malay natin baka yung wigo or vios after 10-12 years maging electric na yung ibebentang brand new. Lets see pero mahal pa talaga as of now ang electric vehicle since hindi pa masyadong mass-produced.
And the battery module's warranty? That's one concern of potential buyers... if the time comes that the module needs replacement (because that's consumable) how much does it cost?
Technically that leaf is more hazardous to the environment than conventional gas vehicles, specifically here in the philippines, because the leaf uses coal to charge its batteries so it's a lot dirtier.
I still dont understand why Nissan PH did not request the Leafs for a type 2 AC charger? Our Leaf in Indonesia got the type 2 AC charging beside the chademo port.
It's true no change oil but replacing the battery is the main issue. Like any battery it has a life span average of two years. Your savings in fuel and oil won't be enough to cover the cost of the battery.
This is not intended for those who are worried about spending money. This EV is costlier by about P1 million than say a Civic. Definitely hindi mo mababawi yun dagdag na P1M sa gas savings in 10 years, kahit lumabas ka araw araw. Buyers of this has other reasons in mind, not saving pesos.
there are articles that it is not recommended using an extension cord for EVs, much more to a chain of extension cords. As much as possible direct to the outlet. Not sure about the Leaf
Importation tax for the leaf and other EVs should at least be lesser than the conventional ICE. Else, it will remain relatively expensive. And of course the infrastructure for charging stations nationwide.
The Nissan Leaf alone since it's launched in 2012 has the highest number of sold out EV's in the world, do you know why? Co'z the price was reasonable. I think the Philippine market is not ready yet as it's so EXPENSIVE plus the scarcity of charging points. Why expensive? Based on my computation, let say I drove my gasoline engine car up to 100,000 km in 5 years time with an ave.of 13 kpl (in both traffic and highway) with an ave. price of 75 php/ltr (with inflations & fluctuations) During that time, I fueld my tank with 7692.3 ltrs x 75 php = 576,923 pesos. Compared to the Leaf you will only spend 1/4 on that amount using electric fuel. In that say, I do need to run for 200K to 250K kilometers to match my savings on electric fuel compared to when buying cheaper gasoline engine top of the line Civic or Altis. Hayss,, I don't even know what to say. I thought this thing is only around 1.5 to 2M price range. It is even more expensive compared to the top of line mid-sized SUV'S in the market! The comfort level and cargo capacity is incomparable compared to this cute little thing.😂 #justsayingpeace
Torque is 320Nm, not 350Nm...or rather I wonder that Nissan is not producing different models to Asia than to Europe. My car's catalogue says 320Nm and 110kW - 150 HP. So, I think it is wrong data in video...but correct me if I am wrong
lithium ho ba ung battery nyan?kung oo, panu pag nagka aksidente at na expose sa environment yung lithium?sa pagkaka alam ko is flammable yung lithium pag na expose sa outside environment. hindi ba sasabog yan?
It would require subsidies and big tax breaks for local EV manufacturers. Long term, funding development for new EV tech is also a good idea. That said, good luck getting any from the government.
It will take 10 years after your purchase of EV before you can actually reap the benifits. Factoring in the car cost and baterry replacement, its about 2.2M more expensive than a 1.3M petrol car. Thats 920+ full tanks of gas!
At almost 2.8M, I really doubt if the Leaf will take off in Philippine market. Try comparing it to a similar class automobile like the Honda Civic V Turbo CVT, which cost around 1.6M pesos. The difference is 1.2M pesos. I bet that you won't be able to consume all of that 1.2M in the next 7 years (approx 171K a year) buying gas, and providing maintenance for the Civic. Those who can afford to buy a Nissan Leaf I'm sure will have another car. And that another car will not be electric.
The zero emission thing about electric vehicles is misleading. You still emit carbon through energy plants (which still use fossil fuels). You're just transferring where your emission goes.
Is this a review or an advertisement? A new Leaf is efficient, but battery and machine efficiency degrade over time. Your review lacks the maintenance aspects of the vehicle especially with its battery and engine component (cost to service and cost to repair). Has anyone tried to drive an EV on gutter deep flood (take note we are a flood prone country)?
It will be a matter of time that Nissan would have to sell or bundle a dongle that would enable the Leaf to use those EV chargers in the mall. Else they have to sell the one meant for the European market that uses the Mennekes connector.
I'm am 100% sure that the 300Km is measured on flat roads without incline. It will be a whole lot shorter if your trip has inclines. Also is the Charging port proprietary to Nissan? I was curious as to why they put the type A instead of the European one specifically here in the PH? I'm assuming the type A is what's being used in Japan?

serious question, why is it hard to have a single standard for these plugs and sockets?
It's called patent. Unless European union will force company to be uniform. Like how they force iPhone to have USB type-c.
