This women did an excellent job creating these videos. A good ambassador for Jamaica. Keep them coming. I'll heading down to jamaica this year.... You'll be hearing from me!🙂
Nice work Irina! This information is helpful not only for Jamaican rentals but a lot of others too. I always admired people like you! People that can find things to do anywhere in the world and live they dream life. You have lots of skills in many different life situations that is impressive girl and your family is happy family for having you! Keep up good work and stay healthy!
She took me out with the guide she created!!! 😱 That thing looked *SO* professional. I’m telling you. I watch every ad in full!! People like this with this level of talent are an asset to the country & need to remain as they are boosting the economy.
I know I would enjoy this VLOG, but given the Subject Matter, I didn't think I would find any "useful" info in it...boy, was I ever wrong. This video is not just for those planning to RUN an Air BnB, but for those planning to RENT one as well. Thanks for the great tips on what to "look for" in the Descriptions of renting one...I will admit that I am one of those who do NOT read all the info the Description...this VLOG made me realize I SHOULD. Two (2) things in particular stood out: 1) Check In and Check Out "Rules" (I am used to having my stuff "stored" at Hotels on early arrivals or late departures, relative to early check in or late check out.... 2) Distance from "Night Life" Activities (the 20 minutes from your place to the Hip Strip is not a big deal for me; but it's great info to know in advance. I made this mistake once in Negril, when I walked from one of the RIU's to The Jungle, not realizing how far away it was...funny part is, I had a Rental Car...LOL). Thanks again for another wonderful, enjoyable and informative VLOG.
Thank you so much, Trevor! I'm glad the video was useful despite the subject was kind of irrelevant :) I'll be making a separate video for guests on how to choose the best Airbnbs - people hardly ever know how to use filters on Airbnb properly or that accommodation should be searched for according to the map, not to what's offered by Airbnb! I just need to get a few more hosts, so I can feature their listings as some good examples for each area in Jamaica :)
It was really generous of you to make this tutorial. Most people aren't willing to give detailed advice. Great idea to offer personalized help. Sometimes people need a trained eye. I've seen photos of shower curtains and the side of a fridge, lol. Good luck with your new side gig!
This is so informative!! I actually moved to Jamaica to start an Airbnb last year but the pandemic made it too difficult for me to start. The bright side is I had the opportunity to visit other bnbs in mobay, time to do my research, and prepare for when it’s more feasible for me to do. Thank you for sharing ❤️
This is beautiful, and for those prices, I'm BOOKING! OMG! Beautiful! In reference to Keurig: That's a huge selling point. I love Keurig because you can make single-serve cups of coffee and you can bring your own pods from the States instead of making a full pot on the stove or using a regular coffee maker. Also, glad you mentioned the details (especially photo details) that need to be in the listing and the importance of keeping it real with the prospective guests! So important! As usual, great job with the videos Irie! Nuff love to you!
Hi Irena, Watched all your videos. Your teaching skills Shine through all your videos. This one may have been intended to showcase the nuts and bolts of running an abnb. But if someone watches your videos they can learn how to heck out a living wherever they go. Just knowing how to use the skills we've learned is the key. You've thought about all the little but important things to make your guests comfortable. It's no wonder why Calypso Villa is the most booked on abnb. I hope Corona will go away fast so we'll feel more comfortable traveling again. Keep up the good work.

Irine in Scotland they provide a place for luggage if someone arrives early and want to leave their luggage until the room is available and go out sightseeing. It just inside the entrance they have some lockers with code or keys.
yes, and that's a great idea! Though I think maybe it works well in Europe, because most people travel with a backpack that can fit the locker, while in Jamaica people come with two huge suitcases that won't fit anything. 😂 We tried providing a room with a lock for suitcases before, but then one of the guests lost her passport in a taxi on the way to us, left the bags in that room, and went to the beach. When she came back - she blamed us that somebody stole her documents. Later the driver brought her passport and she apologized to us, but since then - I wouldn't suggest to any host to take responsibility for the luggage.
Hello Irina you are truly an amazing person, you put all your energy and effort in what you do keep up the good work you are doing, as you expose Jamaica to the world.

I love your videos! But honestly...I wouldn't put a HUGE clock in the room. A clock is the last thing I want to see when I'm on vacation, much less a HUGE one! Lol! Just my opinion. Thanks for your videos!
ahaha, good point, BUT the thing is - guests come from different time zones and get confused with the time more often than not, which becomes a problem if they want to arrange a driver to pick them up, have to track curfew hours or a fact that it gets dark early in Jamaica - people coming from the North are not used to darkness at 6 pm "during Summer".
My wife watched the VLOG, and was reading through the comments with me, saw this comment, and goes " I love the clock; great decor". So, it's not just for telling TIme... :) :). But great point in Irina's response also about the different time zones, and needing to know correct time.

Question who pays the electricity bill? Do you pay in full or it's split with you and the property owners or the guest?
