I do too. I really can't even understand what some people mean. I thought 2 and 3 were great and really give you a lot more of the lore, and some great action scenes.
I was at a New Years Eve party in 1999 into 2000 on the top floor of a skyscraper. They had the film looping on screens all night. It was timed to climax at midnight as the fireworks went off and the soundtrack blared. Amazing vibes.

Loved your reaction !!! But It's sad that people dare to say that the matrix sequels are not good. They are actually almost as the same level than the first one (well exept the last fourth one). Honestly, it was impossible to top the first one. And only because they didn't they're inevitably bad (this is so wrong). It's just that this movie is an 10/10 and the next two are on a 8/10. It is as if It would say that return of the jedi (or indiana jones and the temple of doom) are not good just because they didn't top their predecessors (which was said in the old days by the way). So please you must react to the entire franchise :) But keep in mind that the main question has changed and maybe this is why the audience was a bit confused. See, the first one was really about "what is real" where the second and the third one are about "what is choice" which as interesting and mindblowing. But before reacting to matrix 2 reloaded, you really MUST react to the animatrix (or watch on your own if you really can't). These are 9 shorts stories on the matrix universe who helps to understand it and to elarge the universe and the lore. Actually there are only 4 of the 9 that really matters to better understand the matrix sequels : -The second Renaissance : It's a matrix prequel which tells what happened between humans and machines and why the matrix was created -A kid's story : Origin story of a new character in matrix 2 & 3 -Last flight of the Osiris : It's an introduction to matrix reloaded, litterally a couple of hours before. Btw, and unfortunetly, Tank (the operator) won't be on matrix 2 & 3 because the actor had schedules issues. And you have to be aware that for matrix 2 & 3 : They dreamt big and had a lot of ambition. They propel the matrix franchise to be a franchise like star wars & lord of the rings, to tell an epic tale. Actually, it was one of the three biggest trilogy of the early 2000's with lord of the rings and the star wars prequels. Besides, I would say that matrix reloaded is my favorite in the saga (expect as a stand-alone movie, then the first one wins ^^). But be aware that the style of each films are different, so don't expect to be a redoing of the first one (if that makes sense). To be clear : -The first one was kind of a dark sci-fy thriller/detective more than an action film -The second one is a pure non-stop action film thrill (and a little bit a superhero movie) -And the third one is a war film Btw, matrix 2 (reloaded) and matrix 3 (revolutions) are actually a 4 hours film cut in two parts (they were shot back to back) and this is why they were both released the same year with only a 6 months gap. A little bit like the lord of the rings wich were shot back to back as well. Can't wait to see your reactions to the matrix sequels (and perhaps animatrix) :)
I just now caught that the boyfriend of the White Rabbit girl makes a comment of "it's the only way to fly." I've watched this movie hundreds of times and never picked that up until now. Also, you talked about pitching it to a studio. There's a wild story there. They got WB to agree to it, but they were given a tiny budget compared to what they asked for. They blew the entire budget on the opening scene, showed it to the higher ups, and their original full budget got green lit. They got stuff approved that nobody in Hollywood had been willing to even attempt at that point.
And the set for that rooftop chase was basically left over from the shootings for The Dark City, which is another great film that came out at the same time and got overshadowed by the Matrix.
Nice reaction.. At the Oracle when the kids are floating the blocks around.. you can see one of the blocks has a picture of a helicopter and the number 3 below it. This is referring to when Trinity jumps out of the helicopter and the moment when Neo believes he is the one.
I love you guys! I saw this in the theater. It came out as we were all wondering what the Internet was going to be. It also came out days (as I remember) after the Columbine Shooting in the US. It really hit home. In the theater everyone gasped and was quiet as these two characters in long black coats shot up the lobby. The Columbine shooters wore long dark coats as well. For me it was surreal - it was this - what is the Internet going to be as they posed the question - what is the Matrix. I loved hearing you guys enjoy this as well as try to digest this idea of the "real world" vs "The Matrix" something we still fight with today. Suggestion - "Apocalypse Now" - do me proud!
Originally the script was such that the Matrix used the brains of all the humans combined as a mega processor. But it was deemed too difficult to explain to the audience, thus came the idea to use the human bodies as energy supply. That does not make as much sense, though, because the Matrix might better have used cows, or any other living creature, without the big brains of humans that need to be kept in a simulated world. [edited to add :] Cows would still have to be kept 'entertained', but a meadow with tasty grass is easier to simulate than all those individual complicated lives that are (apparently) needed for humans. Why did the Matrix not give the humans a paradise to live in?
The trench coats actually come from their inspiration john woo (you guys already watch one of his movie, hard boiled) I suggest watching "a better tomorrow" to see how the leather trench coats became cool for the first time.
As bad as the sequels are I really enjoyed the animatrix different stories set in the universe all animated. Worth checking out. Once again guys great reaction keep em coming
Interesting fact: Switch, as her name represents was written as a trans character. One gender in the Matrix, another IRL. The writers were told it was "too much" so it was never put to film. Shame, it would've been cool. Great film, the last 2 were unnecessary.
This is an incredible movie. I've seen the other Matrix movies and if it was possible to not have seen them I'd do that. This one is so good and the others are bad and worse. Personally I'd rather not have seen the others.
One thing I found fascinating: The train station scene in which Agent Smith deadnames Neo as Mr. Anderson is supposedly a reference to a moment in which co-director Lana Wachowski (who is a trans woman) almost killed herself by jumping in front of a train before transitioning. Related to that: The character of Switch was supposed to be male in the real world while having a female digital self in the matrix, but the studio was not a fan of that at the time.
What other movies make you think this much about life????

Brilliant movie. Thank you for watching it lads.
It's not a movie...It shows the way of life...👍
This was such a good trilogy, Matrix Resurrections was definitely not necessary.
True. It was cool seeing Neo as modern Keanu though with the long hair/beard
Only the first one was the best. All the other three weren't necessary
