    I used to strictly want a 61-63 bullet bird but I've fallen in love with the 66 year T-Bird. I think its the best looking one overall.

    so many great features on this TBird. Ford was innovative with the sequential turn signals that my favorite. The rear vents are awesome as well

    The power antenna is electric along with all windows other than the two vent windows on the door,however there is some models that come with power vent windows only vacuum operated features is the door lock and trunk

  • @cad55ken
    @cad55ken 2 года назад +1

    The antenna is electrically driven by a motor as is the drivers window - the only accessories that are vacuum are the door locks and the emergency brake release and the rear vent across the back. (There could be a vacuum powered trunk release in the glove box if it came with one)

    That’s a beautiful car I had a 1967 t bird four door first year for the four door it was the same color as your t bird 1966 was first year for the c6 trans you could also get the 428 FE engine 66 was the best looking tbirds after 1971 the thunderbird was never the same after that .the two seat car was terrible ford miss the mark with the retro styling .off that car I’m glad they finally decide too just let the t bird name retire.i tried too buy a couple off those 64 too 66 t birds back in the 80 when I was a teenager but people thought they were worth more than what they were worth as they all need all kinds off repairs .i think the market has finally leveled off you can buy a nice one know for reasonable price .😊✌️

      I’ve recently started to appreciate the the four door birds more. I agree that Thunderbirds lost their identity in the 70’s and never really recovered. The prices have leveled off a bit. These cars are becoming more rare so their prices will start to increase more. Plus I feel collectors are finally giving them their just does in the pantheon of American cars in the 60’s. That’s why I am trying to preserve and document this car for a future generation! Thank you for watching!

    Well, my 1966 Thunderbird will never be original again. Simply because it has some rust problems and needs body work. My car isn't in bad shape and still operates. Thunderbirds Rock. Although, I've met people that care less about anything old. The fashion is people usually want newer vehicles.

    • @thedadlife1080
      @thedadlife1080  2 года назад

      I agree. People always want the latest and greatest. I believe people who love old cars are wired different. They appreciate the classics for what they are, a snap shot to the past.

      @@thedadlife1080 That eventually I will build my 1966 Thunderbird into more of a sportscar. The 390 engine is bored .60 over. But I don't have a positive traction axle.

    Can anyone suggest how we might research a 66 T-Bird back to the original new car sale? The oldest receipt and motor vehicle inspection was 1998. It was sold as a used car. The VIN is non-standard on that car and we have had no luck working through MVA, CarFox or Kelly Blue Book. Any suggestions gratefully accepted and appreciated.

      I would try getting a Marti report from Martiauto.com. You should be able to secure the original gate release form that will tell you what Ford dealership the car was originally sold to.

    There is a 66 390 and a 66 428 in my area for sale both same price and been off the road for some years

    • @thedadlife1080
      @thedadlife1080  Год назад

      Always choose the 428, if it’s a town coupe even better. Try to avoid ones with electric windows, they are a pain to fix.

    Those “beautiful “ side chrome pieces are aftermarket. Not from the factory. They sometimes are glued on but often they actually drilled holes in the side of the cars. Not a good thing at all! Windows not vacuum but the door locks were. Nice cars that didn’t age well.

  • @dflf

    The door windows are vacuum powered?

    • @thedadlife1080
      @thedadlife1080  3 года назад +2

      The windows are electric, I misspoke, but the locks are vacuum actuated.

    Wrong roofline for 66. The rear side windows were eliminated for 66. Better check the VIN.

    • @thedadlife1080
      @thedadlife1080  3 года назад +2

      They had three rooflines in 66, convertible, hardtop and town coupe. The town coupe didn’t have the rear side windows, the standard hardtop did.

      I love how many people think this, but the 66 is so far different from 64-65 that it is super obvious from any angle.

      Actually 4 models. You left out the roadster, which is the convertible with the fiberglass insert that makes it into a two seater. Last year for that.

    Ford took the same idiocy that produced the Edsel, formed a car, named it T-Bird, spent decades screwing it up, and now you own one. Congrats!
