When trying to pull incandescent bulbs, a trick I learned was to use a short length of hose with an internal diameter that is very close to the size of the bulb (should be a snug fit). This may have helped avoid the socket popping out of place. Nice video!

I had a '65 bird briefly in 1976. Though none of the dash lights worked in it. Probably a blown fuse. Now I know what kind of iridescent glow the dash lights should have had. My mom had a '68 Mercury Montclair with that same beautiful iridescent glow.

Hi. Excellent idea on the dash light upgrade. My only question is, which color option did you use in your application? On the site there is "warm 2700K, cool 6100K, ect.

    Question:
Which white LEDs did you use, the cool or warm? One must select one or the other to purchase off the website link you provided.

Dude find a piece of rubber hose to put those bulbs in the pliers are going to crack the bulbs sooner or later. Playing "Operation" is not the way to go. The thinnest rubber or silicone tubing will work the best if you can grip the end of the lamp with it. I know others have said it but it is worth repeating!

Can anyone suggest how we might research a 66 T-Bird back to the original new car sale? The oldest receipt and motor vehicle inspection was 1998. It was sold as a used car. The VIN is non-standard on that car and we have had no luck working through MVA, CarFox or Kelly Blue Book. Any suggestions gratefully accepted and appreciated.

    • @thedadlife1080

I would try getting a Marti report from Martiauto.com. You should be able to secure the original gate release form that will tell you what Ford dealership the car was originally sold to.

Someone has rubbed the chrome plating off of the numbers on the speedometer. Those are had a nasty habit of jumping into reverse all by themselves when idling. To further increase the excitement/danger the emergency brakes would automatically release when this happened. This was a MAJOR safety issue and it happened often as the complex shift linkage aged. This was before the age of recalls I believe!
