Yeh... appropriate magnet and gauge of wire selection is irrelevant. What you definitely want is more heavy copper and the weaker, heavier common iron magnets... in every situation!
Well they did put a small amount of cement in them, but some other scam speakers mostly the floor standing ones they literally put whole bricks inside them for the weight, just pick up some bricks on the street and throw them in there :D
watching Garret reach 45k (compared to 5/6 years ago) on his own-through his hard work is a magnificent sight! The man earned it! Here’s to that silver play button!!!
They’re trying to fool you into thinking it is a Bose. These are cheaper than the Bose with smaller magnets and less wattage and weight. They used cement to make it feel like a Bose. The treble on these probably sucks and that midbass probably sounds absolutely muddy. The Bose has less of those problems.
Gabriel Köbler or Probably 1500 Watts pmpo xD once found some nameless cheap chinese speakers which were rated 400 Watts pmpo and when i opened them the chassis got like 5 Watts rms or something... all marketing
Hey man, fellow long time watcher here. It's awesome to see your channel blowing up! Got me into audio stuff when I was younger, still like building systems to this day. Thanks for the content. This newer stuff is great!
If you look up an image of the back of a Bose 901 speaker and compare it to the part of the video I was quoting, then you’ll see why I wrote the comment. I’m not bashing at Bose. It’s just that the speakers all stacked up looked like the backside of a 901
Thanks for the informative video. I got these speakers as a gift. Never bothered using them. Wanted to know if was worth it at all. This saved me the trouble.
you should clamp test the amplifier when your blowing speakers to see how much power they take before failing. Im glad you started making videos more frequently keep up the good work!
Hi speaker freak! I'm a speaker freak too and I recently got a descent speaker from the late 70's! I'm hookin it up to my Logitech z313 but some Logitech speakers aren't that good.
I always wanted to meet you in person since i was 8. Your videos inspired me so much i pretended to blow speakers as a kid. Lucky i have a video and i was talking almost just like you and its just so funny. Please keep up the good work and your job to entertain us.
I just subscribed to your channel never seen you before the last video of the unboxing of these high quality bad mamajamas you got here. So many channels do reviews or test stuff, but you seem to test the shit of products we use all the time. This is what we all truly want to see or do to stuff but usually never do!! Very glad I found your channel!!
Almost 92k subscribers today! You are a legend man 👌😎 been on the channel since 12 years and it's always a treat when you release a new video 😄 salutations from Rouyn, Quebec 🙂
The cement in the box is for like a boost at like the 10,000 Hz, it helps the frequency bounce around more in direct through the speaker for a higher output 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think you handled these gems appropiately carefull. 1500 watts, maybe when the whole shebang shorts out and triggers a fuse or something And congrats on the 45k subs!
Theyre like the Bose acoustimass system, and also the subwoofer isn't made of cardboard, it's made of MDF. Which is kind of like wood fiber held together with glue.
At the very least thank you for educating us who dont know what to look for as far as build quality and how to recognize bad quality manufacturing and how to avoid these scam artists that sell garbage for a lot of money.
Congratulations, on getting to 45K subscribers!!. No wonder, you just WOW and AMAZE me these days. I hope you and your friends have a Very Merry Christmas, and all the best for the new year.
Undoubtedly one of the best RUclipsrs out there. As a kid I enjoyed breaking electronics and messing with them like this. So this makes me laugh seeing you get excited to break them rofl. Keep it up Garret! Some noice content here haha
Acoustic Performance. ... Due to its high-density, concrete has advantages over lightweight construction materials in various aspects of acoustic performance, specifically reducing airborne noise transmission, reducing noise from exterior sources and providing sound separation between adjoining rooms.
That sub reminds me of an old set of Fisher floorstanding speakers with that magnet. Only difference is this one sounds like shit, and the Fishers can take some shit. Congrats on 45k! I've been watching since I was 10 years old in 2011. I still remember how I found your channel. My father sometimes warned me not to turn up my computer speakers too loud or else I could blow them, and after a couple of years of wondering what that actually looked like and how much speakers can take before blowing, I got it in my head to look it up on RUclips. Sure enough, it didn't take long to find this one guy named "Garret Claridge" who specializes in such things. I found all of your content amusing, and I've watched almost every video in the nearly 8 years of following your channel. Congratulations on the 45K milestone! You're one of the longest standing RUclipsrs, and it's nice to see you finally gaining some traction. Keep it up!
Unfortunately a friend got conned into this system from a van in Canada Aug 2019. Everything identical but some print on the box. Under name Sonaus SN-7. (A play on Sonos) Says “Digital Home Theater”. “Remote” (no remote... nothing to control by remote anyways) . You’d think you were buying a powered home theater system. Not so. Nothing digital about it. Just real cheap old school speakers. Said MSRP of $2563. Hahahahaha ...Concrete in the speakers.... Hahahaha.... so that’s how they got heavy.
The cement is there to make the housing more stiff for better acoustics... NO MAN, WTF. What garbage :D Those sellers need lifetime in jail, srsly. My brother also got fooled way back in 2006 in Germany. Those scams are global things.

Watching you since 2009, I really love your speaker blowouts and destruction (Except when it comes to computers, other stuff I don't care (? ) When will Mike return for duo destruction like it was back in 2011/12?? Becuase with you and him together destroying stuff is always the double of fun Also I miss the videos where you destroy stuff and add some collab videos, I would love to see more of those, the last one I saw was the VCR destruction one you did in '09 xD

I see similar systems under the name pyle for like $100.00 or less however the binding post terminals look different.
The cement is there to make them not rattle

That's really a good reason, but also speaker insulation or polyfill helps that problem too, but it'll also add more bass quality to the music.
