"...just 'cause I having a feeling this system has never played any music in it's lifetime..." And when it plays, it sounded like an alarm clock radio!
Awesome ! I like your dedication in blowing up speakers. Those bus speakers didn't like your powerful Amplifier. keep those great video's coming. Cheers from New Zealand !
It always amazes me to see two of my long time favourite RUclipsrs acknowledge each other when I would've never thought they'd been alerted of each other's existence. Really sends the phrase "Small world" home.
Those are some high quality speakers compared to what all the schools busses i used to ride that were from the 90’s. Many pops and crackles from those. Get half a dozen people on there and boom suddenly no one can hear the radio
You are just so amazing, You, Your friends, and your videos make my day. My Uncle is Canadian as well, he's from Toronto. Have a great week. And all the best.
I thought they sounded pretty good. I could hear decent bass just from the poor thing just sitting there. Imagine if was installed in a matched enclosure. Of course the "chrome dome" dust cover was acting like a cheap tweeter to boost the voice quality. I'm sure they sounded pretty tinney in the bus due to zero space behind the speaker. Nice.
Garret Claridge The only mics I’ve ever owned/worked with regularly up until recently were the Shure SM58 and the AT2010, got into a space outfitted with some AKG stuff and they definitely know how to make good gear.
All over the place, Its all nothing special and I don't collect anything specific... what seems to go on that shelf is just stuff I find visually interesting in design, Most the time I collect things for the font styles
Ah haha, Yeah for sure, the guys that helped with this video do lots of photography and video of the transit system, Im sure they have made friends in the scene aha
What are those tiny CRT monitors I'm seeing in the background on your shelf? I've seen those before at a place I volunteer at and they have a bunch of radio and video recording/broadcasting equipment
The ones I have are just black and white vintage portable tvs, Most will take batteries or work in a car or camper however Ive been seeking the ones you are talking about, they are Broadcasting monitors made for studio use , One of my friends has a huge collection of them mostly sony and jvc
Garret Claridge if you'd like I can send ya some pics of the equipment and things at their studio for shits and giggles. it's really cool stuff and prob vintage
Is it a TV speaker or out of something? It might be a high resistance driver 16 ohms or more, Check out your signal path and be sure everything is cranked, What hurts the speakers is distortion so you need to get as dirty of a signal as you can make.... there is a free app called Equalizer APO for windows where you can pre amp your sound card and apply some EQ or websites for frequency generators as well as phone apps
@gerretclaridge. Make a video of taking a shitty amp you don’t use and plug in wires to outputs than the ends into outputs as well and see if you can blow ur amp lol
You can get it to the VM is regards regards to the VM is the right 👍 in the VM be the first time I had a great 👍😁the VM is full of the first 🥇🏆🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆the

Eduardo Mafra
Is it weird that i like the way it sounds?
No, in fact, I like this "beehive" type of speaker playing music, when going to sleep.
That blowout with bus announcement was a funny idea hahaha
When I first saw the title I thought he's blowing up Toronto XD
"Hey everybody Garret Claridge here and today we have the entire city of Toronto. And we are gonna blow it out"
@@lunaseur327 LMFAO XD
Turbro really brings me back. Back to when I was a little kid and wanted to blow up speakers like Garret did lmao
Same

Bro ride the TTC T1 a subway train in TTC the speakers are clear af
Uniquely awesome! Spent my childhood staring at a similar bus speaker and wanting to have one. (why? I was a kid, I don't know!)
Haha why not, I love asking for stuff like that just so I can go take it down and see what the heck was going on inside :P
J
You are just so amazing, You, Your friends, and your videos make my day. My Uncle is Canadian as well, he's from Toronto. Have a great week. And all the best.
Killing them with their own voice. GENIOUS! xD
Garret, you're new content is great! Keep it up.
CS -800 speaker killer !!!!!

How's the microphone sound on other speakers?
It's awesome, Low feedback and good under loud conditions, a normal mic would have been feeding back at a much lower volume
Garret Claridge And you just found it in a bus? I might look around for one and do the same with it, it sounds low cost for a great mic
Garret Claridge The only mics I’ve ever owned/worked with regularly up until recently were the Shure SM58 and the AT2010, got into a space outfitted with some AKG stuff and they definitely know how to make good gear.
I'm the one who donated the mic, it came off a Toronto bus and based on my observations, most other buses I've ridden don't have the same mic.
TechnicaProductions I'm not anywhere near Toronto so I wouldn't know
It’s kinda ironic how I was just looking at the speakers on my port authority bus ( transit bus) and wondering what it looked like lmao.
just out of interest, where did you get all the old electronics on your shelf behind where you were recording?
All over the place, Its all nothing special and I don't collect anything specific... what seems to go on that shelf is just stuff I find visually interesting in design, Most the time I collect things for the font styles
😊
Why did I lose my shit on the "check 1, 2, 3" part?? I swear I can't breathe
Makin' Bacon
lol, i saw thata too xD
I think they did a collaboration with Radio Mobile
I love that Makin' Bacon thing lmfaooo
I swear the MTA Transit buses use the exact same speakers. They sound just as bad here as they do on the buses here in the city.
It's a fairly standard speaker on buses
This is hilarious keep up more of these videos!!!
That second speaker was literally like "NEEEEXT!!"
ive always wanted to do something like this
HEY, did you get permission to film on TTC property?! /s
No need, Bus was purchased privately :P
I kid. The TTC apparently loves to go "hey they didn't ask us if they could film on our buses" whenever someone's bus stunts go viral.
Ah haha, Yeah for sure, the guys that helped with this video do lots of photography and video of the transit system, Im sure they have made friends in the scene aha
2:00 makin bacon lol top right
Where did you get that Heineken shirt. Cute!
How the hell is that bus retired? They where bought in the very least back in 2009!
Would have been funny to hear music on those while they were still in the bus.
never thought you will blow speakers in public transport
Garret would make one hell of a bus driver
its so unique bus ceiling speaker, No magnet in speaker back, Magnet in the Voice coil and speaker damper.
3:22 there is his hydro bill going up 😂
At my country, speaker city bus use nakamichi
Wow
In my country they just have some 6.5” drivers mounted in the ceiling and they sound rattling.
When was this filmed? It obviously isn't recent because it's cold as fuck
Pretty decent sized voice coil for the size of that magnet
Try the Speakers on the TTC T1 once it retires, it has the best speakers of the transit system.
He's like a young James from Angry Video Game Nerd... XD
i always wanted to do this to a old caravan my mate had. it had old speakers built in to it.
Can you play with the TTC stop announcement thing?
I did a phone call part with the microphone, so funny!
That speaker sounded like a old school Nintendo Game Boy.
Some of the voice coil formers are paper and some are metal

From videos that were recorded on route :P
Awesome
Where’d you they the big JBL logo?
when i refinished my srx cabs i removed them
Destroyed with its own announcement. Awesome lol!
Also now the TTC Switched to VISION, so the announcement can now be found at Nuance and the voice is Samantha. TTS.
I've seen those speakers on nyc buses
Hahahaha at least school buses used to use decent Panasonic 6.5" speakers I'd love to see a blue bird bus speaker blown up
Very interesting to see 8 ohm speakers in automotive audio. Do you know if the voltage to the amp was something other than 12 volts (higher)?
get some old movie theater speakers they might be big and be fun to blow
Blow some iMac G3 Speaker's....... Heheheheh.
5:11 lol that plate
