‘Why do we need to get them here faster?’: Labor questioned over tourist visas for Palestinians

Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes has questioned the Albanese government’s tourist visas for Palestinians, asking why Labor “need to get them here faster”.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has argued Prime Minister Albanese misled parliament by quoting selectively from the ABC’s interview with ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess last week in terms of security checks on the Palestinians who came here.
“The question is why do we need to get them here faster,” Ms Hughes told Sky News Australia.
“I think the number one job of any government is to keep Australians safe.”
