I don't think M2K was thinking anything outside of having fun, I didn't appreciate the seemingly genuine negative comments coming from the commentators :( . When he was getting really hyper-focused on competitive melee, he almost dropped out entirely, but he came back relaxed and more focused on fun, and has since been playing a more fluid game, rather than the 'mechanical style' that he's known for. Also, his Roy and Pichu actually aren't shit and he has a lot of practice with them, so this was D2K.
Also the more I watch, the happier I am for M2K. Overall, I'd like to say that the Salty Suite was mostly people taking playful jabs at eachother, but the other comments were right, some peeps a little too drunk on the mic right here. The players themselves always seem to be playful though, which is really great to see.

All I hear is the commentators tired and/or drunk as shit and just making dumb remarks that no one cares about. I guess I wanted something like D1 and PB&J during Smash the Record where they were just having fun and laughing. It wasn't really the best commentary, but I loved watching them because of the positive attitude and vibes they gave. This is just... stale. It just bores me to hell and I think a lot of other people would agree with me.

As for the cynicism, its the salty suite and it's probably like 2am and it's scar. I think the commentary was great because, they were salty as fuck. They wanted the night to end and it gives another look into their life. It felt waayy more real then most other shit I have heard. Not every match is a good one or a competitive one. This is the commentary these matches deserved.

The commentary, mostly. I did have a lot of fun watching this, especially the aMSa/Drunk2King facecam action, but I did so on mute to really enjoy it because the guys commentating were just killjoying the whole thing. "Nobody wants to see your Pichu! Can we put something good on?" Seriously, Toph is just annoying and sounds completely ignorant to the fundamentals of Melee when he talks.
