A lot of Guts and Blackpowder's design is based on punishing players rather than actually enforcing them to work together through co-operative means. I don't know why this happened, we just hate players I guess. Hopefully that gets changed with some upcoming updates.
Some things that need to be clarified. During Catecombes de Paris, the reason on being unable to climb over the wall to get to the other side of the bridge is due to you being the defense. In the background, horse wagons can be seen escaping. Your job is to hold-out until all "the weak and the elderly" escape, then your ferry arrives to pick you up. Why can't I just pick up this broken-legged player? During the Napoleonic era, the mortality rates of broken femurs were high[Sixty-percent(60%) or in some cases, Eighty-percent(80%)], so it would be pointless to save a broken-legged player and easier to put them out of their misery.
Personally I really think being able to save them (especially on Sans Sebastian) removes the weight of such an injury. One wrong step and you are lost to the horde, it's a good teacher of awareness.
I doubt its will work when seemingly unheard and endless amount of dead ahead approching you. and you just like 20 men, you would probably need all of people. so give it a try is a good move, maybe in future they won't kick you in a dick because they remember you saving their asses
I love how you can’t regain health, or how one missed sword swing can get you killed. it adds a lot of difficulty to the game, but it doesn’t make it overly challenging as long as you play smart
san seb is long way down cuz thats how fort designed irl, its a fort, not meant to be easy to get up, multiple corners to go around so more places to put defenders. Devs wanted to make it accurate
in Catacombs map, the point of you remaining on that side of the bridge, lore-wise, is because you and your team are supposed to hold off the horde while behind you (on the other side of the bridge) there is an ongoing civilian evacuation. You can even see carriages with horses depart from Notre-Dam. Anyhow, gret video, Bredian! Man this game is so fun, I usually die very fast and sometimes the server doesn't get to finish a map but honestly, the whole idea of zombies in neopolic wars is awesome, and pretty refreshing from the usual present day or sci-fi PVE shooters
The early era of guns is underrated, i once had a dream about a call of duty game taking place during the napoleonic wars. And it *even came with a zombie mode*
Breadian is one of those good horror games that don't get much traction but once they do shit hits the fan and they'll get popular like doors. (Love your content man, keep it up.)
Guts and Blackpowder is honestly amazing with how detailed it can be When the medic heals you, Patches and Stitches get added for you character, which stays on for the rest of the match. ffs You can reload you gun and put it away and continue reloading where you left off. The first roblox game i've ever played that does that.
Now that this game exists, I wanna see a game if you were a citizen in a zombie apocalypse in the napoleonic era, no guns, just melees from the start, and you have to pick up guns from dead soldiers, and the guns should be mostly one use unless the soldier has ammo which is a 500/1000 chance 9:16 also I wish I was that broken leg guy
Genuinely like the idea of helping the "sacrifice", or just giving you a different option for players who broke their legs that isn't just murder, like they could add an activement for carrying an ally who's broken their legs to the escape, could be a good restriction for unlocking the priest class.
When it comes to accuracy, a comment mentioned how during the Napoleonic Wars, the mortality rate of broken femurs was pretty high, so it’s easier to just put them out of their misery since they’re likely going to die anyways, though obviously accuracy doesn’t matter in a roblox game and it would be cool to have ways to help people who broke their bones
The game borrows a lot and spices it up so it's its own original product, and i love that. Really wish games that are "inspired" by others were actually inspired and not just copied. For me the sapper zombie for example reminds me of the chaos warriors from vermintide. Distinctly dressed big enemies with a deadly attack that deals a great deal of damage in a single hit.
I do like the new maps but the only criticism I have is in San Sebastián is how easily you could die before you leave the spawn room due to barrel zombies right outside the doors
@@imgoingtosaythen-word2495 i think we should all collectively agree not to vote for the same map more than 3 times. Nah the best part of the catacombes is the epic battle at the end. The music and the game matches so well and it's so epic to play. Idk what you're talking about. Also I've been playing for many MANY hours, not 20 minutes. I think this game is very repayable honestly because of how crazy it is.
I just like the take on a zombie game where it's taken from a old history standpoint and threes no over powering guns where you can kill endless hoards you have to actually try to survive
Fun fact: the Leipzig bridge blowing up is based on th real Battle of Leipzig(or also dubbed as the Battle of the Nations), while the French Grand Army was trying to escape from the city, they set up explosive charges to blow up the bridge they were marching across, which prematurely detonated, trapping a good chunk of the Grand Army in Leipzig.
basically Berezina moment (lore-wise as to why we need to build a new bridge). A trigger-happy fool detonated the bridge, trapping us and killing the ones crossing
Best part about the game is that it's set in an era where the most important inventions were created, bullets, gatling (machine) guns and more functional grenades sounds like something that was invented recently, when it was actually invented in the 1500s-1800s and because of this the devs have a lot of creative freedom to do what they want
ANYONE WHO WANTS OLD GUARD BADGE: stop playing san sebastian or catacombe, play vardohus or leipzig reasons:san sebastian is too long and requires a lot of charging and since many people are new,it isn’t recommended to play this map (unless you have a good team) catacombe is too long and if people don’t know how to use cannons (mobile players specifically) chances are decreased vardohus is straightforward, all you need to do is use sabres and give the shoveling peeps time and not turn on the light house (so sappers can build and 5 ppl go to cannon with one person being an officer to get them to the ship) leipzig is also straightforward, just let a few people camp the graves to avoid being overwhelmed by sheer number of zombies while others do objectives, let sappers build before ringing the bell, and give cover to the barricades using sabre while blunderbusses take care of the bombers and do the rest
The most common warning in those three maps is “Don’t talk to Jean” in the Catacombs, Don’t ring the bell” in Leipzig and “Don’t turn on the light house” in Vardohus, follow the damn order please im trying to build a wall here.
Guts and Blackpowder is one of those very good Roblox zombie games. It makes it feel so not one person is carrying everyone throughout the game, but EVERYONE helps EVERYONE and it feels like your in an army where you’re strength in numbers instead of one person with strength like other games have.
From a gameplay perspective some of the maps don't make much sense, but they kinda sorta do from lore? Like san sebastian and vor whatever light house village are just a final push to evac. Both gameplay and lore wise. Liepzig seems to be a planned evac with a prepared route and supplies. In catacombs we just kinda stumble upon a military encampment, and they're offering us a boat out of the city. In just a few minutes we can put all these zombies and things behind us. If we climb the barricade, we're still here. More men, but more zombies. And that barricade is not holding against a horde of bombers. If we venture into the city, we'll, how long? How far? Where to?
Man, I remember playing Guts and Blackpowder back right when it realized when it popped up on my "for you" page on roblox. I'm so glad to see it's come so far
It honestly makes little to no actual sense to save a teammate with broken legs Logistically, the guy with the broken ankle is disabled for at least a few weeks and they also werent likely to survive very long after. They would take valuable time and supplies away from surgeons if they made it back too. You gotta remember that these werent organized troops on a planned attack but desperate men trying to break out of a deadly situation.
I like how sappers have to be defensive instead of offensive since they have great melee dmg but if they die they will respawn as a overpowered zombie that can almost one shot the players that the sapper was originally trying to protect
very good, thanks for looking at the game again, this game is so much fun to play when new updates come out. I also like the little tid bits like French writing in the catacombs that explains why there lit up and why we have to kill the zombie for the key. their is also more in san sebatian as well explaining the reason theirs zombies on the island
I believe the issue with a broken leg is kinda that it was harder to treat, fighting the zombies might be using up too many resources so the person may die either to zombies, infection, or the other sicknesses they could get before, during, or after treatment (that claimed the lives of soldiers even in the 1860s in the US Civil war), a simple gunshot wound could kill you easily even if you get treatment back then. However yes it would seem more realistic and make sense for soldiers to try and save comrades so you should be able to take them with you but I can understand why it may not have been implemented.
I want them to add maps outside of Europe like somewhere in Egypt and we have Ottoman soldiers or a completely different war close to the time Napoleonic Wars like the War of 1812 and lastly probably a hybrid of objective and endless mode

this game is most likely similar to 2 games Left 4 dead - Due to the campaign maps, including the objectives in it, take this for example, San Sebastian's ending is a reference to 'The Sacrifice' From the game L4D1/2 COD Zombies - Due to the endless maps, its the same like cod zombies, the more waves, the stronger the zombies are. But theres a difference between G&B's endless and COD Zombies endless Difference one - COD Zombies zombies only downs the player, not eat them, you lose hp very slowly, but in Guts & Blackpowder, zombies grab you, and stack up to 4, 4 is when they eat you alive. Difference two. - G&B Does have less firepower unlike COD zombies, but the blunderbuss is the only good weapon. I can say G&B is somewhat based of COD zombies, but is highly based of Left 4 dead due to it's campaign objectives and special infected, such as the sapper, bomber and igniter.
I mean, it's kinda obvious considering the devs of G&B developed a left4dead fangame in roblox before it was discontinued, and it definitely had that left4dead feel to it. Also, the San Sebastian ending likely wasn't all that inspired by the sacrifice, Barry was added because people griefed in the old Sebastian map by lowering the platform early based on what I know, so they added barry when updating the Sebastian map and added a sacrifice yourself mechanic to prevent griefing.
@@Golden-lc6oi well, the mechanic is still similar, if you walk to the castle where barry is, lets just say, the generator starts if you talk to barry, but it stops when barry gets attacked, what i mean by generator? im referencing l4d1/2, and then someone has to sacrifice
@@NarratorReacts1 Sacrificing is pretty common from what I have played, and it certainly would've made sense for one of the players to sacrifice after barry died, as they would need to lower the lift and the one who did so was blown to bits. While both have similar circumstances, they aren't really the same storywise, as technically there is two sacrifices in San Sebastian, Barry and the poor sap who sacrificed himself, compared to the sacrifice, where only one player is sacrificed for the safety of the rest of the survivors.
I like that people activating the horde early because it gives the sense of difficulty and not just sitting there, firing your gun at bombers and shank zombies behind the maginot line. Also, broken legs can give you infection and potentially an easier target for the zombie virus, its just better to put them out of their misery at this point.
I know the guy who made the game (he also made left 4 dead in roblox) and i watched him progress through the development of this game. He's pretty cool
Did you know the old runner running animation is just a left 4 dead run but now the runner animation change that is made by left to die common infected run

@@Golden-lc6oi when you mean by sap, you mean like any player?
@@NarratorReacts1 Sap usually means someone who is unlucky, so yes, basically a player.
babe wake up, a new breadian video just went up
I like that people activating the horde early because it gives the sense of difficulty and not just sitting there, firing your gun at bombers and shank zombies behind the maginot line.
Also, broken legs can give you infection and potentially an easier target for the zombie virus, its just better to put them out of their misery at this point.
You are limited to 10 buildings though. And it could be implemented far better
brooo that intro was sick 😂
New intro goes unbelieably hard
NO WAY BRO, THIS IS REAL, THE LEGEND THE ONLY ONE WITH SAVING YOUR TEAMMATES & DYING TO 30 ZOMBIES
Thinks I'll give it a try, thanks for bringing it to us!
the nostalgia critic got me dead lol
this is peak roblox video content
You do have to break the window at the last spawn on San Sebastián, but normally the people who spawn there break it before the others get there
Sick new Breadian intro
hi green
I know the guy who made the game (he also made left 4 dead in roblox) and i watched him progress through the development of this game.
He's pretty cool
Did you know the old runner running animation is just a left 4 dead run but now the runner animation change that is made by left to die common infected run
amazing new intro lmao
Breadian, You talk about niche roblox games.
hi guys im the french man juliann my channel is an invalid link so yeah
on a real note i'm glad to have helped you, now if anyone says anything about his french pronunciation that means ur saying i taught him wrong (i will not be having it)
trueeeee
also i fixed the link
Wow uhh. I didn’t actually expect for him to revist it when i suggested it.
You thought I was feeling you
Anyway good vid also commit zombie genocide and war crimes.
3:37 i finally understand why a player asked me "do you have 0 iq?". There's a wooden barricade that you have to jump or climb. I thought I was trapped and picked the wrong path, but no.
Cool AVGN intro in the beginning
this game is deadass so fun
new intro was fire
I was just wanted to type "where the doors references", but right as I typed "where", the depth reference showed up
intro itself screams nostalgia
Welp time to get back into playing this game
I’ve start playing this game not too long ago and I do really enjoy playing it, especially because I found a funny thing where I just use the officer class and act like some kind of gun priest (and yeah I do shoot and help I don’t just be useless when I do it)
tbh I agree with you on the fact that this game is kinda overrated. Anyway, nice vid! Loved the intro particularly!
Woah bread this a landmark for you in terms of content
I really hope guts and blackpowder’s player count increases by a lot one day.
For me i love catacomb and last objective bridge is fun for me because its music it just vibe with scene of struggle to hold ta all cost
LMAO HE ACTUALLY USED THW OPENING
Can you please ask them to make it so you can carry people when they break their legs
Man i just want a tactical zombie shooter with rpg elements like BRM2 but that and this will have to do for now.
brm2 was sadly a one time thing we gotta pray brm5 changes from milsim slop to actually a sequel
@@DARK-dw2gm I honestly wonder why they decided to call it BRM5? There is almost zero similarity between the two. It sometimes feels like the devs just took the name for the popularity it had.
He played it again!!!
The gagfilms reference got me 😆
Bro decided to upload this the day Blood and Iron updates for the first time in literal years.
you should check out reason 4 life: the collection. its a redone version of all the reason 4 life games, which include the reason 4 life 2 survival maps, and some cut content from the OG game like the giant zombie squid. you gotta check it out bread!
Guts and Blackpowder is what happens when No More Room In Hell and Blood and Iron had a baby.
you thought i was feeling you
Ive tried suggesting being aple to save the sacrificer on San Sebastián and everyone in the discord just called me a retard essentially, its weird how in a teamwork oriented game everyone hates teamwork so damn much
I always thought that blood and iron was the prequel to guts and black powder
Breadian can u review robot64 and also what your problem with ice spice?
this man is slowly driving to insanity and im here just watching the journey
After a long line of fizzled out lights I found a bulb that actually stays lit. I have lost count of multiplayers games I genuinley enjoy playing reach an average of 0 players for an entire week. I just hope that this bulb can shine brighter and longer.
Update: so far it seems to be going to plan.
What effect will this have on huggy wuggy scary seek blue ?
@@DeezNutsssssssss huh?
how convinient how I was about to search up the first video then this comes up 💀💀💀
hey breadian. awesome intro.
filledoutfield made it! Check him out he animates a lot.
so i was wounder when i first time finish a catacombts like'how you could broke a leg when a boat, can recoil your fall' and also why they not addicional timer for preparing a defences so that wouldnt happend when someone walks to NPCs
4:21 because zombie can climb the barracaide and that is a no no
Oh boy, time for the server to spam rematch on San Sabastian even though we can never beat the map because barrel zombies spawn on every corner
Fr fr
5:20 doctors I mean just look at them at this time period you will lose you leg or die of infection
