Mine arrived yesterday. So far, I am very impressed. But that said, because I am a newbie to racequads, after a few crashes, one of the motors broke. I had to replace it. But because I am an idiot, I plugged it to the computer, and tinkered with the settings in cleanflight. Somehow, the priority goal, which was to do the motor test, ended up in me messing everything up, and having to spend next 4 hours or so trying to bind it. I fixed everything, and it flies better, than everything I have flown to date. Anyway, great review and I would be really happy if you made the video on modding it. Cheers from Poland !

I ordered the Turnigy Nano Tech 1S 750mAh 30C constant 70C burst as I've had one of the batteries that come with it swell because of to fast of C rate for the battery!! Those Nano Tech ones are just about exactly the same size as the stock ones I think a half a mm thicker is all no big deal and I think two grams heavier. Those should work awesome, get them at Hobby King for like $3 a piece!
graphene 600mah 60 c weight 15 grams but little pricey but 3-4 € more dont make the difference for me, also my graphene 3s 2200 performing great ! also bought on hobbyking first charge

Thanks for the PIDs, mine were pretty close to this. I'm not having any of the issues some others are seeing. The only issue so far is that my JST broke off the board. Some very hectic micro solder work later and it's back in the air. About 5 of us race these around a track in the basement often.

Brilliant as always :-) I received my QX90 recently and it has the short shaft motors too. After losing and/or cracking most of the stock props, I replaced them with props for the JJRC 1000. The stay on like glued and much better thrust.

The "tadpoles" are probably light leaking in to the sensor from behind, through the pcb. i had a similar issue with a webcam that i took apart as soon as i received (building a robot), it drove me crazy until i realised it works fine in its plastic casing. Sticking a small piece of black tape on the back of it fixed it perfectly.
Just got my QX95 and was having driver trouble too, wasted a couple of hours on the Zadig method to no avail, so tried the 'ImpulseRC Driver Fixer' and it now flashes first time! Your vid has been a big help in setting it up though, cheers!
My QX90 came with the artifacts, I believe its caused by light leak on the lens holder and even between the two boards that make up the Cam and TX. I ended up adding some tiny peaces of black electrical tape around the lens holder and the gap between the boards. This seem to help with mine.
Hay Andy, just bought the qx95, not exactly happy with the purchase, but the pids are getting better. Theres a light leak at the back of the board. Not the lens holder, not the lens but at the back of the board behind the image sensor will experiment and let you know how to fix!
About the camera problem, I have heard somewhere the reason of the artifacts on the camera is light leak from the rear end of the camera PCB, due to the circuit board being too thin. Slap a piece of black tape on the back of the camera and it's fixed.
My torrent 110 had preset flight modes that horizon says you will confuse the done if you change them. Using betaflight I scrapped 2 of them (angle and air) and added Horizon mode. What happens to the flight modes programed on the TX when you go into betaflight and change everything up in there? If betaflight overrides the flight modes should I just put them on inhibit to avoid future confusion?
My guess is the rubber band on the QX95 camera is softer to help protect the antenna on the vTx. Those things are so flimsy. If it's too stiff in a crash, you're sure to bend/break it much sooner. Would have been nice if they provided a small antenna bar to help protect it in crashes.
hello Andy i could use some help.. I have a similar micro with F3 EVO fc ...and after binding (Spektrum ) can not get the motor to spin ,or unlock .... plug in to Betaflight and test motors (good) check the configurations that i know .. do you have any thoughts
i had it rudder down left ... but i figured it out ...the settings for the Rx were not right ...so finally after fiddling with it on Betaflight it works now and now i have motor lock/unlock on a switch .. .... thanks for your reply and awesome videos
Andy is your autofocus off? In the first part there's a lot of blurry image. Mode D8,.. They forgot the European customers? EU-LBT can only bind to D16 unless you go for opentx and make some changes during firmware updates.
I bought both a QX80 kit and a QX95, intending to use my fully modified Devo 7e transmitter (see elsewhere). I couldn't arm the motors on the QX95 despite trying everything in the manual. NOWHERE does it tell you that the throttle channel needs to go low enough to arm it (in my case 125%). Two evenings wasted. So now it flies but I have to reverse both aileron and rudder. It sits nicely in the hover but the sticks do virtually nothing. Sluggish doesn't describe it. I increase all the throws to 125% and it's a little better. There is no way you could race it in this form. NOWHERE does it tell you that the camera has a lens cap on it! The one good thing is that you can unplug the LED strip. Mine will probably stay unplugged.
Andy, great video review, but might I suggest holding things near the center of your camera view, your auto-focus was jumping around a lot. happy flying friend.
I ordered up a QX95, a couple spare motors and some rolling spider props yesterday. A lot of guys complain that the white original props come lose very easy, then fly off. Some have resorted to gluing them on the shafts. Have you experienced this? I was thinking I'd try putting a short length of thread into the prop hole when I pushed them on to give them a bit more hold. We'll see. (got the FrSky version, and already set up a model on my Taranis for it, so I should be ready to go give it a go .. most likely indoors until the weather gets better .. too much snow right now.)
I'm using the dx6 transmitter. but the settings only work when the "Receiver" is set to "PPM RX Input" under the configurations tab. if I set it to anything else i get no controller response under the "Receiver" tab (nothing moves). plus the "Receiver" section looks different than anything I've ever seen before in betaflight. I've flashed the latest firmware 3.0.1. should I be worried? it's a little touchy but it flies ok.
they have changed the configurator recently and also the board that the qx95 comes with so it doesn't surprise me the setup is different. if it flies dont worry!

The cam on my qx95 is perfect. Not sure what the issue with yours was. My Qx90c does have a better cam than the 95 tho. But none of mine have had any issues. Guess I lucked out then.
I have one of these on its way, so I jumped on my chair when I saw that you had reviewed it. I'm so happy that you like it! What a relief! If I get the tadpole camera I'll replace it with the one I got on the Blade Nano QX. Why don't you put your working camera on this one, instead of fiddling with a motor transplant?

"No response from the bootloader, programming: Failed" any suggestions for this in the error message in the "load firmware" status bar I have 2 qx95s and one use to work fine with betaflight. not it will not even connect nor will the new one.
AndyRC im using a imac and I just tried to parallel what you did with the ports but had no success what so ever. Side note: betaflight works on my other drones. just not these 2 qx95s.
today i tested mine and i agree with you: this is the best flyer out of qx series... much better than qx90 out of the box.. good review!! only thing is that motors get hot pretty fast compared to others
Great video Andy, I just received my qx105 yesterday, copied the taranis programming for my qx95 renamed it and bound the copter. But it will not arm.. all the controlls in betaflight are greyed out.. Did i do something wrong.?

You mention that it is still wobbeling like mine. Where is auto tune gone? is it the option hidden in *mode* ? CALIB?? another great vid andy nice to see the betaflight setup our group is slowly getting into these have 3 95s a 90 and a 80 would love to see how you tune your pids on these to get them locked in
also I have that same issue with blue on my QX95 but not on the QX90 and not on the QX80 also the QX80 we have seems to have a wider lens than the other 2
That's a fine video Andy, but I find references to Cleanflight/Betaflight all over the web, but where do you find it? Video after video starts off with Cleanflight loaded but none of them tells you where to find it. One of your videos refers to it being available via Chrome, so I loaded Chrome (which I never use) but still can't find it. I can find hex files galore, but Windows 10 won't open them. One of my cameras had that 'tadpole' pattern but it disappeared after 4 or 5 flights.
Hi Andy My Flysky FS-i6X i6x and Qx90c has finally arrived, however I cannot bind. The blue light just settles down to a slow flash, it doesn't say to solder the bind pins but I have but still nothing, I don't know if the problem is with me the transmitter or receiver, I have the receiver that came with the transmitter thought I might try and bind that, however I don't know what voltage to put through the receiver, 5v?. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Mike

Hi Andy another good review. I've just completed my first build of a F3 brushed micro and have just copied the PIDs from this video. However as a beginner that might not be such a good idea. Maybe you would like to make a video on PID tuning (for beginners) sometime? I also have a bit of a gripe that you show the setup of the Taranis a lot and it would be nice to see more Devo 7e setups which I think a lot more people starting off in the hobby might have?
Why is not called a K-frame? :) When I first bought the Kingkong 210GT they call that a H-frame as well, and it's the same shape. Square front with swept rear arms. It's a K-frame! :P
My QX95 with integrated FrSky receiver just drops out of the air all the time. I guess its caused by voltage drops. What is a good receiver alternative for a 1S (more resistant to voltage drops)?
The 'tadpoles' look like solder pads on a circuit board, light must be getting in through the back of the camera board. Maybe figuring out how to light proof the back might prevent it. Black electrical tape or paper?
Any advice about how to stop drifting? always is coming back and left..not very stable. not know what to do...what settings to do for to be more stable? because is drifting very much.

How to connect and config led strip? I have connected it to uart3 (as on banggood site depicted) and i'am wiring 0,1,2,3 leds in led strip tab, and giving it single color function but nothing happens.... tried on other f3 evo boards

there is some issue with the camera's i had the lightest crash possible into my trouser leg and that was enough to trash camera, it still lights up but it doesn't show up when you search for it bummer
Perfect timing and great video! Thanks man. The quad is way more agile now. Why do you switch on the rx serial under UART2? Is this receiver specific stuff? I have the DSM2 version. It also seems like I have to adjust the MINIMUM THROTTLE to a bit less because I nearly don't loose height when putting the throttle down. Great hint with the MOTOR_STOP, that could have prevented the broken arm if I'd have watched the video 2 days ago :D glue to the rescue...

I tried my hardest being new to all this and could not get the qx95 flying, I wanted to start over and hit reset settings in cleanflight. I screwed up, can you please point me in the right direction? I have a Spektrum DX6 if that makes any difference on help
hi there andy i notice that other people on youtube they bridge the board on a boot and put it boorloader mode or dfu to flash betafliht ....i notice u dont do this ...its ok to do it like u ?
I had to bridge the bootloader pins, I tried for hours to get it work like Andy but I had no joy. It's easy, just plug in the usb cable to the quad and use a small flat head screwdriver to bridge the bootloader pins then plug the usb into the computer. The green light should should be solid and the blue light should be off. If the blue light starts flashing you haven't bridged the bootloader pins properly so unplug from your computer and alter the position of the screwdriver a bit then try again, it took me a few attempts. Once the green light is on you can remove the screwdriver as it will be in boot mode.
+AndyRC do u advise me to switch to right hand throttle control since I just started learning? I find it highly resembles FPS games controls on consoles & i have ton of experience with that so.. what's ur opinion? im also lefty if that matters.
Hi Andy, I just received my Eachine QX95, but : i reased by errorthe firmware on Cleanflight. Led configuration is gone, all setting for lodes and ARM gone, not sure that PID are still there and correct. Do is possible to post the original firmware? Also is possible to have link to operate with Cleanflight for saving firmware when modified (and use in case of erase procedure) and link for re-introducing new firmware on Eachine QX95. Hi Andy, I made a boo boo, I didn't grab a copy of the CLI when I installed Betaflight and now the motors don't do anything in Betaflight and the LEds are only partially lit. Is it possible to get hold of the CLI Please :)

I have a problem with my qx95. Pls help! My flight time with the original LiPos has decreased to like 2-3 Minutes. Then it just drops down, and I'm unable to pull it back up, because it doesn't have the power anymore. The charger says 3,9V left though. How can that be?
hi Andy, I don't know w hat I did but there are several things wrong with my qx95. Cleanflight/betaflight won't recognize my drone, and when I plug the battery up the propellers just spin on their own. can you please give me suggestions? thanks
sounds like the bootloader got bricked. short the bootloader pads and reflash betaflight to it. motors spinning is because PWM or 1 shot 125 is set in the config rather than brushed but you cant change it if it wont read the bootloader. cheers

My qx95 (frsky) got a different receiver, its a combined f3-fc/receiver.. Must been a change in the kit.

u need to adjust the rc rate in cleanflight to get better rates

i'm trying to learn acro mode, my self build 210 is a bit too quick for me, is the qx95 a good way to learn acro skills and reflexes?..
yes definitely however fly it out doors with acro and give yourself plenty of height

If I get the tadpole camera I'll replace it with the one I got on the Blade Nano QX. Why don't you put your working camera on this one, instead of fiddling with a motor transplant?

I have 2 qx95s and one use to work fine with betaflight. not it will not even connect nor will the new one.

AndyRC im using a imac and I just tried to parallel what you did with the ports but had no success what so ever.
Side note: betaflight works on my other drones. just not these 2 qx95s.

today i tested mine and i agree with you: this is the best flyer out of qx series... much better than qx90 out of the box.. good review!! only thing is that motors get hot pretty fast compared to others
Great video Andy, I just received my qx105 yesterday, copied the taranis programming for my qx95 renamed it and bound the copter. But it will not arm.. all the controlls in betaflight are greyed out.. Did i do something wrong.?

we have had an issue with the QX90's camera as it has failed in a crash
also I have that same issue with blue on my QX95 but not on the QX90 and not on the QX80 also the QX80 we have seems to have a wider lens than the other 2

My Qx95 just arrived. Followed everything up until the cleanflight. It said needs new firmware and nothing works. What can I do now?
That's a fine video Andy, but I find references to Cleanflight/Betaflight all over the web, but where do you find it? Video after video starts off with Cleanflight loaded but none of them tells you where to find it. One of your videos refers to it being available via Chrome, so I loaded Chrome (which I never use) but still can't find it. I can find hex files galore, but Windows 10 won't open them. One of my cameras had that 'tadpole' pattern but it disappeared after 4 or 5 flights.

My Flysky FS-i6X i6x and Qx90c has finally arrived, however I cannot bind. The blue light just settles down to a slow flash, it doesn't say to solder the bind pins but I have but still nothing, I don't know if the problem is with me the transmitter or receiver, I have the receiver that came with the transmitter thought I might try and bind that, however I don't know what voltage to put through the receiver, 5v?.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi Andy, i just bought the Qx90 before saw that they would sell this qx95. Still waiting for my qx90.. maybe these motors are the chaoli ones? How you control the flight times, timer from the radio? I'm thinking on solder an buzzer to my qx90 when i get it and set the voltage to 3.5v on cleanflight/betaflight

Hi Andy another good review. I've just completed my first build of a F3 brushed micro and have just copied the PIDs from this video. However as a beginner that might not be such a good idea. Maybe you would like to make a video on PID tuning (for beginners) sometime? I also have a bit of a gripe that you show the setup of the Taranis a lot and it would be nice to see more Devo 7e setups which I think a lot more people starting off in the hobby might have?
Why is not called a K-frame? :) When I first bought the Kingkong 210GT they call that a H-frame as well, and it's the same shape. Square front with swept rear arms. It's a K-frame! :P
My QX95 with integrated FrSky receiver just drops out of the air all the time. I guess its caused by voltage drops. What is a good receiver alternative for a 1S (more resistant to voltage drops)?

My Taranis will bind but the quad will no longer respond to inputs in Cleanflight
The 'tadpoles' look like solder pads on a circuit board, light must be getting in through the back of the camera board. Maybe figuring out how to light proof the back might prevent it. Black electrical tape or paper?

My only qx90 came with a bad camera/vtx. Banggood is sending another after I sent pictures.

Recently i binded another quad on my flysky transmitter and now i have a unpleasure surprise..
my qx95 not want to arm..but the funny thing is when i connect the usb from computer to quad and open the cleanflight and plug the battery is arminf perfectly!!!!

How to connect and config led strip? I have connected it to uart3 (as on banggood site depicted) and i'am wiring 0,1,2,3 leds in led strip tab, and giving it single color function but nothing happens.... tried on other f3 evo boards

Two questions ....I plan on re-flashing with beta flight as well, I plan on following your video for my setup but in your video you stated you weren't happy with the tune, what did you end up tweaking? Second I ordered my qx95 ARF and will need to solder in my flysky receiver..this will be a first for me..do you have any videos completing this procedure? Thanks

there is some issue with the camera's i had the lightest crash possible into my trouser leg and that was enough to trash camera, it still lights up but it doesn't show up when you search for it bummer

Why do you switch on the rx serial under UART2? Is this receiver specific stuff? I have the DSM2 version.
It also seems like I have to adjust the MINIMUM THROTTLE to a bit less because I nearly don't loose height when putting the throttle down. Great hint with the MOTOR_STOP, that could have prevented the broken arm if I'd have watched the video 2 days ago :D

I tried my hardest being new to all this and could not get the qx95 flying, I wanted to start over and hit reset settings in cleanflight. I screwed up, can you please point me in the right direction? I have a Spektrum DX6 if that makes any difference on help
hi there andy i notice that other people on youtube they bridge the board on a boot and put it boorloader mode or dfu to flash betafliht ....i notice u dont do this ...its ok to do it like u ?
I had to bridge the bootloader pins, I tried for hours to get it work like Andy but I had no joy. It's easy, just plug in the usb cable to the quad and use a small flat head screwdriver to bridge the bootloader pins then plug the usb into the computer. The green light should should be solid and the blue light should be off. If the blue light starts flashing you haven't bridged the bootloader pins properly so unplug from your computer and alter the position of the screwdriver a bit then try again, it took me a few attempts. Once the green light is on you can remove the screwdriver as it will be in boot mode.
Also, I tried to flash Betaflight after all that and it says the board does not support it.
+AndyRC do u advise me to switch to right hand throttle control since I just started learning? I find it highly resembles FPS games controls on consoles & i have ton of experience with that so.. what's ur opinion? im also lefty if that matters.
ANAS HAMADA no absolutely, start using mode 2(left hand throttle) because that's what almost everyone uses, that's the standard.
Andy, do you have to bend the motors out like on the qx90, in order to fit the rolling spider props? Thanks!

i reased by errorthe firmware on Cleanflight. Led configuration is gone, all setting for lodes and ARM gone,
not sure that PID are still there and correct.
Do is possible to post the original firmware?
Also is possible to have link to operate with Cleanflight for saving firmware when modified (and use in case of erase procedure)
and link for re-introducing new firmware on Eachine QX95.

found a comment on banggood where the camera fault is solved by putting some dark foam between the camera and the vtx board..... have you tried this?? see page 4 on the reviews.. a recent post by Hermann Hohenberger

Hi Andy, I made a boo boo, I didn't grab a copy of the CLI when I installed Betaflight and now the motors don't do anything in Betaflight and the LEds are only partially lit. Is it possible to get hold of the CLI Please :)

hey andy,according to banggood listing all three qx-95....90....80 have the same motor,so do you think its tuning? props? what is different here ,except for some cool leds and frame? i have a qx-90 w the same camera issue sadly,and it doesn't have a whole lot of ups in it ,and really want to change that. i would really like someone to figure out this more power mystery,what did they do???? ....i'm very curious on giving my qx-90 the kick in the pants it needs to fly well outdoors...as soon as slight wind comes ,it's game over......very very irritating !!!!!
the QX95 definately does not have the same motors unless they have now upgraded all of them with the same.

My flight time with the original LiPos has decreased to like 2-3 Minutes. Then it just drops down, and I'm unable to pull it back up, because it doesn't have the power anymore.
The charger says 3,9V left though. How can that be?

hi Andy, I don't know w hat I did but there are several things wrong with my qx95. Cleanflight/betaflight won't recognize my drone, and when I plug the battery up the propellers just spin on their own. can you please give me suggestions? thanks
sounds like the bootloader got bricked. short the bootloader pads and reflash betaflight to it. motors spinning is because PWM or 1 shot 125 is set in the config rather than brushed but you cant change it if it wont read the bootloader. cheers
